About Margit Williams
My sisters and I completely renovated this summer cottage where we spent many summer months when we were visiting Hamilton during our childhood. It is part of our personal heritage, and we hope that you will appreciate the history behind this home that brings us so many happy memories.
Margit Williams purchased this Farmhouse in 2015
Why Margit Williams chose Hamilton
It is located on the Bitter Root Stock Farm that was started by copper magnate Marcus Daly in 1886, and is still a working cattle operation to this day, with the adjacent fields being farmed, sprinkler irrigated, or used to graze cattle. Free passes for two to the Daly Mansion are available.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
The Daly Mansion is within walking distance of your home, and during their tour season, every visit comes with two complimentary passes to this historic Montana museum. You have no neighbors, so privacy is complete (other than the occasional horse or cow in the adjacent pastures, or deer wandering through the yard).

White Christmas 2019
We arrived the evening of the 23rd and woke up to fresh powder! Our kids (11 & 13) and our dog ran and played in the snow for hours! Went skiing and snowboarding at Lost Trails! Great snow conditions, great people and great prices!! We hiked around and grabbed a delicious burger at Naps. Kristina responded to all of our questions and gave good suggestions on skiing. The cottage is perfect for a family of 4!! Very cozy and beds are so comfortable!! It was great to meet you Kristina!! Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful cottage☺️
Thanks for the nice comments Sheri! I am so glad you had a great time and that I was able to arrange the fresh snowfall for the morning after you arrived ... ;-) ... Thanks for leaving the cottage is such great shape when you left. We would love to have you back, maybe a summer or fall trip here would be fun?! Kristina
Charming Little Farmhouse
We were so impressed with our stay! We are originally from the area and wanted to be able to feel more at home (rather than a hotel) during our trip. The cottage, the location, the views. Everything was absolutely perfect! Will definitely be our “go-to” when back in town.
Stephanie - thank you so much for your kind review. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay and had fun being back at your old stomping grounds. It was lovely meeting you and your husband and the little ones. I look forward to hosting you again the next time you are back in the area. Kristina
Clean and comfortable
Great experience overall, the house is is nice and clean and has everything you need for your stay. Location was great and worked well for us while we waited to close on our home purchase.
Our family of three spent two nights at the Daly's Bitter Root Farm. We had a nice relaxing time in the comfortable home playing games and touring the town of Hamilton.
Gorgeous updated cottage in an idyllic setting!
Coffee on the back deck is perfect!!
Will definitely stay there again. (Next time longer!)
Thank you! We would love to welcome you back!
We were looking for a place that would give us some solitude. With all the hustle and bustle of life we’ve had over the last several years we needed some time to decompress. The Burke House provided a tranquil setting near the main road yet somewhat off the beaten path. We were able to sit and read books, and spend time with each other without all the distractions of our daily routines and responsibilities at home crowding in. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the Burke House to others.
Thank you for the lovely words! So glad you were able to get some down time.
