For a video tour go to YouTube and search 'Wayberry Cottage'. A Great Northern Michigan location close to Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Glen Arbor, Crystal Lake, Frankfort.

The Wayberry Cottage, built in 2006, is a quiet retreat on 15 wooded acres surrounded by thousands of acres of forest. Located just 3 miles from the village of Lake Ann and 15 miles west of Traverse City, the Cottage offers up-north privacy and peacefulness with city conveniences nearby.

Approximately 10 miles west of the Cottage is Lake Michigan where you can explore all the beaches, water activities, sand dunes, and lighthouses Benzie County has to offer. Other area lakes are also within minutes of your enjoyment.

The Wayberry Cottage is beautifully modeled after Northern Michigan cottages from the early 1900s while embracing all the comforts and benefits of modern living. Whether spending your days sightseeing or playing golf at Mistwood, a 27-hole course only 3 minutes away, come back to enjoy the hot tub or just relax on the screened-in porch while reading a good book. The Wayberry is sure not to disappoint.

Guestbook comments from the owner

October 9-15, 2009

We really enjoyed our stay at "Wayberry." It's a great vacation rental; it was so

quiet, pretty, comfortable, and cozy we didn't want to leave. Especially loved

the hot tub and the fireplace. (Didn't get to use the screened porch much

because it was so cold, but I'm sure in warmer weather it would make a great

place to hang out & read a book.

Thanks,

Eleanor

Happy Turkey 🦃 w/e

  • 5 of 5

Our third family gathering over or near Thanksgiving...each visit was lovely. The "kids...big and little" enjoyed your activity offerings. We all had our own beds and space...which is often hard to find with rental accommodation. The kitchen was great with everything we needed to cook our Thanksgiving Feast. Close enough to a grocery store for any last minute buys...we will definitely be back...we loved the complimentary beer from your brewery...perfect....thank you.

Wonderful Anniversary Trip

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at the Wayberry! We were there with our children and grandchildren celebrating our 36th anniversary!

What a cozy place! We loved the fire pit area, the wonderful red pine forest which surrounds the house, the hot tub and patio area, the porch, the ample room for our family of 12, and our fav the porch swing!

The location is so perfect! It is very close to sleeping bear dunes area, Traverse City, and the Leelanau Peninsula !

Thank you Matt and Jennie! You are awesome!

Great weekend escape / Memorial Day/ Bayshore Marathon Weekend

  • 5 of 5

What a great place you have up there! A group of us had the place for Memorial Day weekend /Bayshore Marathon and we loved it! The price was right and you can't beat it for what hotels cost in the T.C. area. We loved having morning coffee on the screened in porch and who doesn't love a hot tub? Not too far from town but not so close that you feel crowded from all the people that visit the area either. We loved it so much we just recently reserved it again for this year's (2016) Memorial Day/Bayshore Marathon weekend!

Two weeks in God's country

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful two weeks, we spent at least 5 nights at Esch Beach just watching the beautiful sunset's over Lake Michigan. Nice end to relaxing day. We spent time in Manistee seeing the harbor, eating lunch and looking thru so many Antique Shops. Then topped if off with the House of Flavors Icecream. If you haven't been to Glen Arbor, next time don't miss it. What a beautiful little town. If your hungry go to Art's and have a bacon cheese burger. You may have a wait, but is well worth it. Also the original Cherry Republic Store is there. A must stop, and a good place for Michigan gifts to take back home. We did something different every day and had a wonderful time. Sleeping Bear has to be my favorite place just for it's beauty, a must see. Knowing that every evening you could come back home to the cottage and feel right at home. Enjoy the hot tub or just sit out on the swing and listen to the pines, roast a few marshmallows, or challenge your mate to a game of pool. The Wayberry Cottage has it all and more. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did. We try to make it up there every year just because it's the perfect place to go and relax.

love love love the Wayberry

  • 5 of 5

Great vacation spot for girlfriends. Good central location for Traverse City, Empire, Sleeping Bear, Leland, and Suttons Bay and all the wineries in between. We enjoyed lots of excursions during the day and then relaxing back at the Wayberry over dinner, the hot tub, and campfires out back. Especially recommend the Firefly restaurant and also Stella's in The Commons, both in TC.

Christmas at the Cabin

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at the Wayberry. We booked it last year for a family Christmas and returned again this year. We had a great time again. The house offers plenty of space for our combined families. There's plenty of room to spread out and yet enjoy each other at the same time. The kids love the hot tub and the property. Love the fireplace after coming in from the cold! The snow covered woods are beautiful and make for a great walk. Lake Ann General Store is close enough and stocks a variety of great products. Matt was great to work with and helpful even after our stay. We hope to continue this tradition year after year. Thank-you!!
