At the top of Arcetri's hill at 600 m. from house there are the old restaurant-trattoria Omero, serving typical tasteful tuscan food.

An Oasis from the City

  • 5 of 5

Everything about this accommodation was perfect and better than expected. We chose it because it had gated parking so we wouldn't have to worry about our car while in Florence. Easy access to the bus route or walk to Pitti Palace, Boboli Gardens and Ponte Vecchio. Every comfort you should need, lovely antique furniture, garden, and our hosts went beyond expectations preparing our suite with treats, food, wine and even a pair of bus tickets to get us going. Really made our stay in Florence such a special one! Thank you so much, grazie mille to Laura and Lucia!!

Nice apartment!

  • 5 of 5

This was a picturesque place to stay that was close to the bus stop, which made getting around easy. We were greeted with so many thoughtful amenities which we really appreciated. Bread, butter, jam, milk, cereal, fruit, nice! Our host was gracious, kind, and available if needed. A perfect place to stay for a visit to Florence .

Laura was an amazing host. The rooms we had were just beautiful especially the studio, a basket of food and wine in the fridge when we all arrived was just fabulous. It was a shame we could only stay for 2 of our 3 night stay. Unfortunely we had to get back to Rome earlier than we planned but it was just fabulous. Highly , highly recommend

Barnet, London

Lovely family who went out of their way to ensure a perfect holiday.

The property was in a beautiful area of town and very comfortable, in a traditional style of villa. There was a very good welcome pack covering several breakfasts and our hosts were very thoughtful and provided every support for my mother, especially when we had problems organising her disability status with the local police. They even let us check out later at no extra cost as they didn't have a booking until the next day.

Beautiful Accommodation with Great Host

  • 5 of 5

Laura's garden apartment is perfect for hot summer days - we stayed there in late August and loved being able to use the garden. We took all of our meals outside (heat and mosquitos permitting). The apartment is beautifully furnished with mostly antique furniture, a very comfortable bed, a nice bathroom, and a small kitchen area in the living room. If you close the wooden shutters before it becomes really hot, the apartment remains quite cool even without air conditioning (but there is air condition, too). Everything was spotlessly clean, wine grows just outside of the building, and little lizards come out of hiding as soon as the sun is up. It is a very relaxing place to stay.

Laura herself is a great host - an extremely likeable and engaging person. She provided everything we needed for our first breakfast, as well as the best (home-grown) tomatoes I have ever tasted. As other guests have already noted, the property is about 20 minutes on foot from the city center; we usually walked down the hill and took the bus back up. Due to its location, it is fairly quiet (even though you hear cars passing by in the street). It is easy to feel at home there. In other words: if you have a chance to stay there, take it!

The Apartment, 1400m from Old Brige, is located in a beautiful Villa in Via San Leonardo, historic lane connecting the Astronomical Observatory G.Galilei on the hill of Arcetri with Forte Belvedere and Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge). The Villa ,an ancient hay-loft, was renovated by owner and it is surrounded by a garden with vines, wisteria pergolas, laurel hedges and cypress trees.

Via San Leonardo is a narrow road through antique buildings, olive groves and gardens in the protected and silent area landscape, with few inhabitants – villas and farmhouses converted into artists’ studios, that takes about twenty minutes to walk to the Old Bridge. Walking towards the Old Bridge: Chalet Fontana, historic meeting place of writers and artists, the house of Tchaikovskij, the famous painter Ottone Rosai's studio, the Church of San Leonardo in Arcetri of XI century and passing close by Forte Belvedere of XVI century.

From Forte Belvedere a gate leads into Boboli Garden and Pitti Palace, but if you go through the door of old walls, you find Bardini Museum of Macchiaioli, Galileo's home and Ponte Vecchio.

Piazzale Michelangelo is a walking distance with its marvellous view of Firenze
