Small studio (9 m2) fully equipped (1st floor) with a sofa, a loft (sleeps 2 people), kitchenette and bathroom with toilet and wifi internet access, located in a dead end near the College de France. Shops, markets, restaurants and cafes are at the foot of this little 5-storey building. Close to Mouffetard, Notre Dame and Ile St Louis. Right in the university area. Metro Maubert-Mutualité.
RER Cluny-La Sorbonne or Saint-Michel.
The property is right in the middle of everything and getting to and from everywhere is easy with a main metro station really close by. Like other reviewers have said, it's a small place but the location makes up for it.
Me and my wife stayed here for 8 nights. We had a wonderful stay and experience here. The place is small; loft style accommodation, where the sleeping area/bed is on a high level accessible via a set of stairs. The place is really clean and well maintained. Although the place is small, but it was perfect for us. We put our luggage under the stairs to make more room. We were quite organized with our stuffs so we had no issue with the place being small. The stairs to access the sleeping area is rather steep, so for someone who has trouble climbing steeper stairs, this might be an issue. Pictures shown on the website are very accurate representation of the apartment.
The location can not be better. It is within short walking distance to countless restaurants, bakeries, cafes. Several grocery stores were very close by too. It is about 6-7 minutes walk to the closest metro station. It is about 15 min walk to Notre Dame cathedral; 25-30min walk to Le Louvre. The neighbourhood felt really safe at night. Even past 11pm there were still many people walking on the street.
Communication with the owner was efficient. Thank you.
We would definitely stay at this place again the next time we visit Paris.
The property is very well kept. As a person staying alone in Paris it was perfect for me. Christophe is extremely helpful as a host and was always happy to provide me with fresh sheets and towels as I needed. I would recommend this spot to anyone who has time to spend in Paris but is looking to get out and explore and have a cozy little apartment to return to at the end of the day.
This apartment is delightfully located beside the Sorbonne, in a quiet peaceful street. It is very secure and we were pleased to be met by the owner's representative at the arranged time. The apartment is very small, but beautifully organised with everything one needs for a stay at hand. It is also superbly clean and all fittings are in good condition.
In the owner's picture, you can see the edge of the mezzanine style bed that is above the floor space of the apartment - this is fine but could be an issue for someone who would be uncomfortable with the ceiling being close enough to bed itself. I am over 6' tall and could not sit up in bed!
There are many local amenities, apart from the normal Paris sights. There is a local cafe, Cafe Reglait, that is totally unpretentious and is clearly used by local people. We enjoyed breakfast there a couple of times.
On our departure, the owner attended promptly and immediately returned our security deposit. This is a property that is exactly as described and well-managed. I would recommend this owner and this apartment.
When we arrived to see where we'd be staying in Paris for 6 days, we were delighted to see the location of our rental. This studio is right in the heart of the latin quarter, walking distance from the some of the best restaurants in Paris (especially the one right on the corner, Le Coupe Chou), walking distance to Luxembourg Gardens, Notre Dame, and close to a metro stop that took us everywhere we wanted to go.
Be aware that the apartment is small, but this didn't bother us at all. We had two large backpacks and two smaller carry-on bags and after we unpacked, we stored the bags under the couch and in the under-the-stairs storage. Everything fit great! The kitchen was functional and we cooked our breakfasts and some dinners there and sat at the little table with the windows open.
We had one problem which was that the drain of the shower got stuck, but we sent a message to Christophe and he came to fix it that same day and it worked wonderfully after that. He was very quick to respond with any questions we had and apologized for the inconvenience.
Again, I can't stress enough how perfect this place was for us! Location is so important when you want to see as much of Paris as possible. We chose this place over an apartment that was further north in the Right Bank and I am so glad we did.
The location for this apartment is good. Metro is about 10 min walk. Notre dame is about a 10 min walk. It was safe. The apartment itself is tiny. Do not take much belongings if you plan on staying here as there is no where to put them. I think this is more of a one person place. The bathroom doesnt really have a closing door it is just a sliding door so there isnt much privacy. Its a bit of a hassle going up to the bed as the stairs are steep. Overall the apartment was ok and did list what it had. It was too small for my liking but you get what you pay for.
