The house is finished to a very high standard with hand-made terracotta tiled floors, antique furniture, a super large kitchen and other modern comforts including underfloor heating and cooling systems, and well-appointed bathrooms with excellent showers. The windows have integral insect screens. Meals can be enjoyed outside relaxing in beautiful settings including the two courtyards and there are lots of quiet places to sit and read. The 6 x 12 m heated pool with electric cover is surrounded by travertine paving with plenty of space for teak sunbeds under large sunshades. For the energetic there is table tennis and and badminton. Pool maintenance and house cleaning on 4 days per week plus Saturdays are included.

Large extremely well-equipped kitchen with 2 full-sized ovens, combination microwave oven, large 5 ring induction hob, double sink, vegetable preparation sink, dishwasher, electric espresso machine & food processor. The underfloor heating system can also cool the house in the summer. Windows are double glazed with integral insect screens.

Further information about the house: The house has recently completed a total restoration, rescuing it from dereliction & near collapse. Situated in 25 hectares of its own secluded land which includes woodland, a 700 tree olive grove & open fields, there is an abundance of wildlife. You may not see a wild boar but they are there! You probably will see porcupines, hares & deer, and the numerous birds include large birds of prey. The land has not been intensively farmed and there are masses of wild flowers. Terraced landscaped gardens lead down to the heated pool (approx 1.5m deep), which has an electric cover. There is plenty of flat space for badminton and table tennis and there are lots of quiet and secluded spots to sit and read or chat over a glass of wine while looking out at the sweeping views of the Val d'Orcia. The ancient brick-lined wood oven has also been restored. The house is at the end of a 2.5 km (1.5 miles) dirt road (strada bianca) maintained in good condition and there is plenty of space for parking.

Location: Pienza and Montepulciano are world famous perfect Renaissance towns, with a good range of shops for food, wine, cheese and other supplies as well as artisan shops and workshops and excellent restaurants and bars. The Val d'Orcia is unspoilt and much less developed than some other parts of Tuscany and its UNESCO World Heritage status ensures that it is protected from future development. Monticchiello, Montefollonico, Castelmuzio, Bagno Vignoni and San Quirico are only some examples of lovely little nearby towns and villages with excellent restaurants. Wine lovers can visit Montalcino and Montepulciano, those needing pampering can chill out at thermal baths in Bagno Vignoni or Bagni San Filippo, while Siena and Florence are easily accessible. There are concerts (classical, brass band, jazz, modern), opera, art shows, and a host of other events throughout the area, mainly in the summer months. www.LuxuryVillaTuscany.com

About The Owner

We are 2 London doctors who bought this lovely old farmhouse in a derelict state in 2005. The total restoration of the house and gardens was completed in June 2012.

The Owner purchased this villa in 2005

Why The Owner chose Siena Area

It is a magical old house in a dramatic position overlooking the Val d'Orcia which is one of the loveliest and most unspoilt parts of Tuscany. It was a perfect restoration project in the UNESCO world heritage area.

What makes this villa unique

The house is surrounded by 65 acres of forest, open fields and olive groves in glorious countryside with stunning views and abundant wildlife. It is close to gems such as Pienza, Monticchiello and Montepulciano and within easy reach of Siena and Florence and Rome. Being a World Heritage site, the Val d'Orcia is protected from development.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"Thank you so much for sharing your fabulous villa with us. We had a wonderful week enjoying everything the area had to offer - dining, shopping ,touring, wine tasting, dining, walking, dining, and did we mention dining? Thoroughly enjoyed coming back each afternoon or evening to your comfortable home. Samuela and Mario were so friendly, helpful and welcoming. We all hope to be fortunate enough to return again. Again thank you! Grazie mille."

Absolute perfection!

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful villa exceeded our expectations. It looked gorgeous from the photographs but it was even more breathtaking in person. The views out over the valley could be seen from the 2 outside patios and the bedrooms. There was plenty of seating for the 4 couples that were in our party. The kitchen and the rest of the house had every amenity you could want. There was ping pong, bocce ball, badminton, board games and of course a pool that was surrounded by hotel quality chaise lounges and umbrellas.

Samuela, the housekeeper was so friendly and kept the villa spotless while we were there.

Renting it was a simple and easy process and the owners are so accommodating with suggestions of restaurants, things to do in the area and general information about the house and the area.

We simply can't say enough good things about this villa!!

The Villa Luisa exceeded all expectations

  • 5 of 5

Villa Luisa is a beautiful villa located off the main road where you are surrounded by mountains, olive gardens and vineyards. The grounds are impeccable landscaped and the outside pool is truly breathtaking The main house has all the charm of a historic Tuscany farm house however every modern luxury convenience is provided for. The gourmet kitchen, the indoor dining room, the beautiful outdoor dining space and the various patios with unbelievable views surround the house. We cooked in nearly every night as two of our guests were outstanding chefs and we would eat wonderful Italian meals outside to the sound of Italian music - It does not get much better than that. The Villa is perfectly located between Rome and Florence and nestled among numerous historic Hill Towns - Pienza, Montepulciano, Orvieto, and on and on. The train station to Florence or Rome is only 25 minutes away.

We cannot write a complete review without mentioning Samuela, the housekeeper. She was such a wonderful treat to see every morning and she was so helpful. Since we did not speak Italian and she does not speak English we had fun communicating to one another thru Google Translate.

All in all this Villa exceeded all expectations. The owners were meticulous in

their design and thoughtfulness. We could not have picked a better place to stay and will certainly stay again on our next trip to Italy.

Perfect Villa for a Family reunion/getaway

  • 5 of 5

Arriving at this Villa was nothing less than perfect; the long winding drive to the villa and the first sight was very impressive. The property and grounds were in pristine condition, and the view of the surrounding countryside was breathtaking. The owners were very responsive if needed. The housekeeper was also very knowledgeable and helpful with any questions we had. The property is perfectly located so close to so many day trip activities. We are very much looking forward to returning to this region and this villa.

Fantastic location, villa and views

  • 4 of 5

The villa is an amazing situation and is well equipped with anything you could want. The views are fantastic from the various terraces. There is so much to explore locally and we can wholeheartedly recommend truffle hunting! There were some extra costs associated with cooling/pool heating but these were handled sensitively by the owner. We can thoroughly recommend this villa and hope to return again.

Lovely Refuge

  • 5 of 5

If you’re seeking a beautiful refuge in the heart of Tuscany, look no further. Beautifully renovated, yet comfortable and relaxing. Two spacious patios for relaxing and outdoor entertaining. Lovely pool area. Amazing vistas. The house and gardens are well kept by Samuela (housekeeper) and Mario (gardener), who are very helpful and welcoming. We were a capacity group, and being in the kitchen, house and grounds didn’t ever feel crowded (my personal test). It’s far enough away from the main road that you don’t hear any traffic, yet close enough for numerous day trips to explore the nearby towns. Highly recommend.

"La Dolce Vita"

  • 5 of 5

"La Dolce Vita" is the perfect saying

to describe Villa Luisa. From the minute you see the first

spectacular view as you round the bend to the house, you

feel embraced by the beauty of Tuscany. The house is

spectacular, from the lovely bedrooms, to the well appointed

bathrooms, the very comfortable sitting rooms, and the well

equipped kitchen. The two patios, with unbelievable views,

were a great place to relax, drink some wine, and eat some

of Italy's wonderful food. We had Alessandro cook for us

6 times while we were there and all of his meals were very

high quality and delicious! Our "special goodbye

dinner" is one that we will never forget. Samuela, was

a wonderful housekeeper, and she kept the house immaculate.

She is also a great cook and her lasagna and grilled

vegetables are out of this world. We attempted to have

numerous conversations with Mario, the gardener, and he even

guided us on a walk around the property and his beautiful

gardens. We enjoyed his company and his conversation, even

though we did not understand a word that he said! The owners

left a very helpful book with numerous recommendations of

restaurants in the area. The Val d'Orcia region is

exceptionally beautiful and touring the area is very easy by

car. We had a phenomenal time and would highly recommend

this property. Someday we hope to be lucky enough to return

as we made some wonderful memories.
