Fab summer holiday
We had a great holiday at 10a Via Real in San Juan de Capistrano. Lovely property that is well equipped and located near to pool and restaurants in the urbanisation. There are several terraces within the property and fantastic views of the town. This property worked well for two families holidaying together. Nerja has super beaches, shops and restaurants. Would definitely recommend a car though as it's a long walk to the town/beach and taxis/buses are rather sporadic
Great location, lovely surrounding facilities. Nice layout but was quiet dusty and hadn't been sufficiently cleaned (swept). In general the fixtures and fittings are a bit tired and the outside sunbeds and cushions are not really useable as they are old and stained.
Everyone enjoys staying in Nerja; it is a lovely spot. Regarding the dust, we are near to the sea and also to dry arid fields; sand blows in no matter how recently the floors are swept.
We have a rolling programme of maintenance and upgrade. We visit twice a year to do this, aiming not so much for chintzy and sophisticated, more resilient, comfy and relaxing. So, much of the furniture has been recently renewed, more is planned for October. As for the outside cushions, we always replace them in October, but they do get continual heavy use during the busy spring and summer months.
Nerja nestles in the foothills of the Almijara range (excellent walking). The town is pretty and has avoided the Torremolinos-type tower blocks. It has narrow, winding streets, whitewashed houses with wrought iron terraces. At its heart is the Balcón de Europa, a magnificent promenade along the edge of a towering cliff overlooking some 16 kms of sandy beaches and small secluded coves. There are panoramic views of the Mediterranean against an awesome backdrop of hazy blue mountains. Nerja's most spectacular attraction is its fascinating caves, located just 1 km from our villa. They include archaeological treasures such as paintings over 20,000 yrs old and other pre-historic remains. One of the enormous natural caverns has been transformed into a concert hall, where many performances are staged during the summer. Finally, for those who want to enjoy Nerja's many nightclubs and bars into the early hours, then the Tutti Frutti area in the centre of town is perfect for you. Other Activities: World famous caves, go-karting, scuba courses. 90minutes Granada, Alhambra, skiing, etc.
