Our apartment is located in the beautiful village of Mil Palmeras, along the Costa Blanca area, which is approximately half-way along the east coast of Spain. The area is a very popular tourist destination due to its excellent weather and climate and the many superb beaches which stretch for miles and miles along the coast.

Fully equipped with everything you will need for a relaxing stay is provided. The kitchen has a fridge/freezer, cooker with main oven and grill, micro-wave oven with grill, kettle, saucepans, frying pans, crockery, cutlery and glassware. The utility room has a washer/dryer and clothes-horse.

In the lounge/dining room you will find a dining table (which extends to seat six), with a balcony leading off with views of the pool area. The lounge has a pull-out bed double sofa and lounge chair, flat-screen TV, DVD player and music centre with iPod docking station.

Pilar de la Horadada: Pilar de la Horadada is located 3km inland from the beach at El Mojon. The resort is approximately 15 minutes drive to the east of Murcia airport and approximately 40 minutes drive to the south of Alicante airport and is ideally located close to the safe sandy beaches of the Mar Menor. The region is largely agricultural; surrounded by market gardens, orchards, citrus groves and pastoral farms.

Beaches: The town is close to a coastline of fine sand and clear water beaches, interspersed by attractive inlets, all offering a full range of services. The beach at Mil Palmeras is ideal for sailing enthusiasts, linking up with the Rincón and Puerto inlets; the latter with a promenade that comes alive on hot summer nights. Las Villas, the beach behind Torre Horadada marina, is the longest beach followed by a smaller beach at La Mojón, which reaches the border with Murcia.

Cultural Attractions: There is a watchtower on the coast, typical of the many that line the Spanish Mediterranean coastline. A settlement developed around the tower, which became the summer residence for the inhabitants of Orihuela; Murcia and the Vega Baja del Segura are also both worthwhile day trips. The Archaeological and Ethnological Museum museum has five sections, dedicated to the environment, to fossils, numismatics and ethnology. On display are the most typical flora of the municipality, a collection of metals, assault weaponry, pieces from Iberian textile mills and objects made from esparto and the typical 'Pilareña' dress.

About The Owner

We travelled to Malaga in April 2011 to look for an apartment to purchase, but travelled much further North to find this beautiful apartment in a very friendly little village close to the Sea and fell in love. We purchased the apartment in July of the same year and then set about updating the furniture and decor to give it a fresh and warm feel.

Why The Owner chose Pilar de la Horadada

The area surrounding the apartment has just received a €1.8m development upgrade and this has enhanced the area so much. There are so many lovely restaurants to chose from, lovely walks along the beautiful long sandy beach, the lively JPs Bar is full of life in the evenings, offering a very friendly service and smile. The apartment sits within a gated area, surrounding the Pool, which is quiet and cosy.

What makes this apartment unique

The views from the large rooftop terrace are to die for. The cooler balcony below also offers the same views and is ideal for lunch with a glass or two of wine. The apartment has air-con in the lounge and both the bedrooms. The flat screen TV offers all the English and Spanish Channels you could wish for. An ideal cosy and modern apartment in a beautiful location close to the Sea and Shops and Restaurants ... what more could you wish for.

We stayed in Michelle and Andy's apartment earlier this year with our 2 and 3 year old sons. We had an absolutely amazing time. The apartment had everything we could have wished for,it is very tastefully furnished and catered for all our needs. Riomar is a perfect place to stay with children and we really didn't want to leave. Great location too, so close to San Javier airport and to explore other surrounding beaches & Murcia city itself. The children still talk about 'The Spanish house'! and we would LOVE to go back one day.

Wonderful realxing holiday - excellent apartment

We had a lovely time staying at RioMar 13; the apartment is very well equipped and comfortable with everything you need to enjoy a perfect 'get away from it all' holiday. The stand out feature of the property is the stunning roof terrace. The location was fine for us and we enjoyed the daily walk (sometimes twice) into town or to the beach. However it may not be suitable for everyone as it takes approx. 20/25 minutes at a strolling pace (quicker if striding). The local supermarket in town is very well equipped but it is quite a long way on foot, especially if carrying shopping/bottles of water etc. We usually use public transport when abroad but there is not a great service in Mil Palmeras so we hired a car for 3 days - this also helped us to stock up on shopping/heavy items so it was not a problem for us. There are a lot of lovely cycle routes in the area and we noticed many people were getting shopping using bikes. Personally we enjoyed the lovely walk from the apartment and found the quiet, secure location suited us well (despite being close to the main road there was very little traffic noise). The main village of Mil Palmeras has lots of really good restaurants and bars and the whole place has a lovely feel to it. The beach is amazing; soft sand and warm waters – perfect. Communication with the owner Michelle was very easy and always a pleasure. The same however cannot be said for the local agent ‘Mil Palmeras Services’ – we were unimpressed to say the least. However, we do not wish this to detract from the positive review of this apartment and the area which we would rate as excellent and highly recommended.

Great Property

Property was in good location very quiet about 15 to 20 Mins walk to the beach and restaurants, owner collected from airport very friendly and helpful. We would recommend this to family and friends. Good pizza bar near tennis courts, eat in or takeaway, sells bread freshly baked and milk which is handy as the supermarket is quite a walk. Good restaurants down to the beach, definitely recommend fillet steak on the corner, 6 of us had this and all enjoyed. Great beach bar called Popeyes good location for breakfast and would recommend. Would not recommend second restaurant on the right going down to beach. Ninas bar very good for food and drink. Glass of Sangria goes down really well. All in all a great relaxed holiday.

Amazing property

This was our second time staying in this lovely apartment at Riomar in Mil Palmeras. We are a family with young children and It has everything you could possibly need. It is spacious and really nicely furnished. The pool and surrounding area is fab and the development itself is quiet and secure. Michelle was very helpful when booking and so was Dave who met us with the key. We would highly recommend it and will definitely return. Thank you!

Clean Modern with all apartment facilities

lovely clean apartment, overlooking the pool , had all the facilities you require, 15-20 min walk to lovely beaches, cafes and restaurants,

5 min walk to tennis court and cafe very good pizzas, apartment in nice position on complex from the main N332 highway to Torrevieja Town

very little traffic noise , 5-10 min drive to the La Zania Boulevard Mall, excellent booking, and organising with a very helpful Michelle.
