London Apartment Rental Photos and Description

A fantastic, contemporary apartment accommodating up to 11 guests

Please CALL OR MESSAGE ME before booking to check availability. If your stay includes a Friday or Saturday night then the minimum stay will be 3 nights unless otherwise agreed.

This is an amazing apartment located in the vibrant heart of London's iconic East End recently decorated and with oak flooring throughout.

It can accommodate up to 11 guests and the sleeping arrangements are:

- Bedroom 1, double bed (up to 2 guests)

- Bedroom 2, double bed plus chair bed (up to 3 guests)

- Bedroom 3, double+single bunk bed (up to 3 guests)

- Lounge, sofa bed + chair bed (up to 3 guests)

The Lounge is smart with a home cinema system with projector, PS3 and online library of 5,000 films - great for keeping the kids entertained or for a quiet night in after a hard day hitting the tourist trail.

The kitchen is fitted out with high-gloss units and built-in appliances include hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and dishwasher.

Bedroom 1 has an en-suite shower room with a shower and sink - very handy for the morning rush. There is a double-bed, double-wardrobe, chest of drawers and overhead cupboards.

There is a family bathroom and also a separate toilet.

Reality check: The flat is located on the 4th floor and there is no lift - not a problem for previous guests but you should take into consideration.

The flat is located in a local authority block. The flat itself is lovely but the block is not as smart, but acceptable - see the last couple of pictures in the listing.

- 10 minute walk to a large Sainsburys (large grocery store) on Cambridge Heath Road

Decent apartment with accessible location and all the amenities you might need.

  • 4 of 5

Right on the Bethnal Green tube station- which is about 20 minutes from everywhere. Market is right across the road. There are some cool bars and restaurants just around the corner and Brick Lane and Shoreditch are not far. I recommend Paradise Row and the Old George. The apartment is in the East End, which can be dingy and loud- but not dangerous- to some and it has a lot of cultural diversity.

The apartment itself was suitable for our 6 people and it was nice that there is a washer/dryer and everything you need in the kitchen. The entertainment room is great for staying in and the 3 rooms gave a lot of privacy with decent storage.

It is in a fully rented apartment building, on the 4th floor (no lift) which we didn't mind but some might.

We had an issue with Mold in the shower and I told the landlord, who came out that day and cleaned it up and replaced the shower curtain. If you do stay here, the fan is in the light, so LEAVE the LIGHT ON when you exit the bathroom. That was really the only issue, and if it wasn't there I would give it a higher rating.

The landlord is a really nice guy who wants his guests to have a great stay in London, so it's nice having him accessible and knowledgable.

Overall, had everything we needed and the location was amazing for touring London.

Cheers!

Owner's Response: Kelly is a really lovely person and very easy and straight forward to deal with. She and her friends were friendly and appreciative. They took good care of my apartment and respected the quiet and privacy of my neighbours. You could not ask more of any guest and I would be happy to recommend Kelly to any host. Thanks for booking with me Kelly. I hope you'll return soon to our fair city.

Pluses and minuses

  • 3 of 5

I made late plans to travel to London with my family. There weren't a lot of options that fit my needs, mainly a three bedroom at a comparatively moderate price. The website photos suggest this was flat once designed as a hip bachelor's pad. Indeed, the makeover actually seems as though it was a few years ago. The space is small, but practical. As a Californian visiting London in the middle of July, we were used to the heat, but not the lack of air conditioning. This is apparently a feature only found in upscale residences. We kept the windows open, which according to English custom have no screens. The apartment is on the fourth floor, the top of a brick apartment building. You see these brick buildings all over and they were designed to serve as basic housing for the working class. I would guess this one was built right after World War II, probably from the used brick of bombed out buildings. Be forewarned, when you first set eyes on the building's entrance, you will think you're entering some Dickensonian environment. Climbing the stairs is rather grim. There is trash and beer cans littering some on the landing areas. However, I never felt the place was unsafe. There is also nothing threatening about the people in the neighborhood, I felt perfectly comfortable walking around day or night. The neighborhood had a large Muslim population. You will see plenty of women wearing hijabs and niqabs. The area remains somewhat working class, but there are plenty of upwardly mobile young people in the area. The pluses: The Bethnal Green tube station is a block away, and you are about 25 minutes from most tourist spots by either tube or Uber. There is a small grocery across the street and a larger one an easy three blocks away, there are a number of pubs and restaurants within walking distance. The flat has comfortable beds, but as is apparently the European custom, no top sheet is used, only a comforter with a duvet. On hot nights, the comforter is too much. Keeping the windows open will cool down the place at night, the the traffic and pedestrian noise did disturb my sleep. There is a small table with two chairs for meals. My biggest issue was with the general cleanliness of the flat, the limited bath towels, the strong smell of mildew in the bathroom and the terrible frying pan and pots. Come on Rashid, spend a few bucks to to actually give your guests some usable cookware.

Great location and fantastic apartment!

  • 5 of 5

This has been the second time my friends and I have stayed at Raquib's apartment over a weekend and both times it has been a pleasure. The apartment is clean and well furbished with everything you could need. You are extremely close to shoreditch and the tube station is not even a 2 minute walk away! Overall, great location and a nice apartment in general. Raquib is also very easy to speak with and he is also willing to help with useful info on the sites or any activities that can be done in London. 10/10

Owner's Response: Lee booked the apartment for Nathalie and her extended family who were in London as part of a European tour. Lee was charming, communicative and straight forward to deal with. Nathalie and her family were delightful, warm and friendly guests. It was a pleasure to have them stay at my flat. They were excited about their trip to London and their enthusiasm was infectious. They respected my flat and took good care of it. They also tidied and cleaned up after themselves, leaving the flat in lovely condition. I am happy to recommend Nathalie, Lee and their families as guests and would be delighted to host them when they next come to London.

Great Place to stay

  • 5 of 5

A group of 6 persons stayed at this property for 4 nights as we were visiting London. The apartment is very well-situated, close to Bethnal Green tube station on the Central Line.

The interior of the apartment provides all a group like ours requires. We cooked and had dinner inside some evenings. The multi-media system helps us to find the way to some places outside of London we wanted to visit (e.g Bletchley Park or the saxophon store in Crowborough). In the morining we loved to listen to the music. The home interior was as described in the offer.

Raquib is an extremely friendly and helpful host with much advice on the local area, transportation and hidden gems like the Indian restaurants.

The booking, deposit and return of deposit was done without any problems.

Having looked at a number of places this apartment is certainly great value for money. Overall, I would strongly recommend this apartment for a short stay as ours.

If we are going to visit London in the future, we already know where to stay ;-).
