This light-filled home is named for the only canonized Native American saint, Kateri, whose bulto graces the adobe nicho in the home.
Experience this authentic Santa Fe home off spectacular Garcia Street in the historic Eastside Santa Fe neighborhood. Nearby trails take you quickly to Canyon Road galleries, the downtown Plaza (less than a mile), the Capitol and Railroad districts. Smell the fresh mountain air and hear the Cathedral bells as you relax in the front or back portals.
The recent (2016) top-to-bottom renovation brings it up to all the standards you expect (radiant heat, air conditioning, upgraded wiring, ethernet and plumbing) and still retain the authenticity of original pueblo style, including thick adobe walls and viga ceilings. The high ceiling, large windows, and dramatic white diamond plaster walls make this home bright and light-filled! Ease into perfect relaxation, with every modern convenience.
This three -bedroom two-bath adobe is perfect for couples or a family or a group of friends exploring Santa Fe's many riches. Sleeps 6 adults in bedrooms (1 King, 1 Queen, and 2 Twins/1 King depending on how you want it to be made up). The study can be a nursery or a room for small children.
It is right next to my first Santa Fe home "Gorgeous on Garcia" (VRBO 451508) which guests love for its location and comfort. I invite you to read my other reviews so you can be confident of the style and comfort you'll enjoy. If you're a larger group, consider renting both homes together!
The home is decorated with a blend of traditional New Mexico furnishing and more modern pieces, all with great style. Enjoy the traditional Kiva fireplace as well as the large HD Samsung Smart TV with SONOS soundbar.
The open floor plan makes it an ideal home for entertaining. The separate dining area is decorated with a typical New Mexico custom table that can easily seat 6 and can expand to seat up to 10! You may also enjoy dining in the rear portal with it’s comfortable patio table and chairs.
The large kitchen is supplied with all the accoutrements you need to handle at-home gourmet cooking including Le Cruset and Cephalon pots and pans, Dansk Zia dishes, stemware and silverware. Top of the line refrigerator, large 5 burner stove, and Bosch dishwasher make cooking and cleaning a breeze. A new Weber gas grill is also available. Gather around the wrought iron and wood island as you cook and entertain.
The large master bedroom features an iron post king bed, gas fireplace, HD TV and SONOS, large walk-in closet, and en-suite bathroom with a two-headed walk-in shower. Excellent bedding: top end Serta mattresses and Restoration Hardware/Hotel Collection linens for your comfort. The master bedroom is on the other side of the house from the two guest bedrooms providing enhanced privacy for all.
The master bedroom opens up to a private study if you are both vacationing and working. (Alternatively it can be used as a nursery). The study has both a desk and monitor (HD) as well as a comfy chaise. The study opens up to the side yard.
Both guest bedrooms are also large and bright. The first is furnished with a queen bed and the other with two extra-long twin beds that can be transformed into a king bed - just let me know how you want it. The large bathroom between both bedrooms features a walk-in shower.
The house also includes a washer and dryer.
The home provides three parking spots including one that makes the home wheelchair accessible.
A perfect home to enjoy the Historic Eastside and old Santa Fe!
