Welcome to Pelion Homes!
Over the years our family has fallen in love with this beautiful mountain called Pelion in central Greece. For the past 40 years we have been spending several months a year in the village of Agios Giorgos Nilias enjoying the peace and the gentle pace of Mount Pelion. This mountain offers breathtaking views over the sea and is dotted by 34 charming little villages. The traditional houses, built of stone with slate roofs provide an idyllic setting all year round, with lush vegetation surrounding them.
All this time, many of our friends who stayed in the village as our guests loved this special place and some decided to acquire their own homes. On this occasion, we wanted to offer an opportunity for those who would like to visit Agios George Nilias, but do not own their home, to offer for short or longer period some of the houses we have built, equipping them with much care and love like they were made for us!
With great care in details, we have designed and equipped the interior of the houses as well as and the external verandas and gardens so that visitors feel at home and totally free to relax and take it all in. We invite our visitors to come and taste an unique and unforgettable way of exploring and come closer to nature!
In Pelion Homes we want you to FEEL LIKE home. This is our motto and our main concern!
Fantastic view to the Gulf .
Garden and 2 verandas the one coved for outdoor meals etc.
The area where the house is situated is very quiet area. There is no traffic noise.
In 5 min walking ,you can reach the square of the village and the restaurants.
In 15 min walking ,you can reach the wonderful chestnut forest.
Ideal for children.
We stayed at Villa Alonaki in July for two weeks and had the most relaxing time there. This was our first time in Greece so we did not know what to expect, but we really enjoyed our stay and we were really happy that we found Villa Alonaki because it made the vacation even more memorable. The owner--Stathis was really professional and throughout the stay was quick to respond to all our needs. The villa is set in a pastoral village surrounded by breath-taking nature. As soon as you arrive, you are greeted by the smell of herbs and flowers. The villa is really well appointed--the owners left some groceries for us--we really enjoyed the home-made jam!! The house is really tastefully decorated and the grounds are well maintained. The terrace overlooks a gulf dotted with islets and we enjoyed the most unbelievable sunsets from there. Dimitris was really warm and suggested many beautiful places to visit in Pelion. There are many really good restaurants and some are walking distance from the house right in the village. We also really recommend going for a trail ride on horseback--just ask Stathis! We did two longer day trips to Delphi and Meteora while we stayed at the villa--both sites were amazing and we were glad to see them but travelling around Greece made us appreciate even more the special place that Pelion is. Overall this was a great adventure and we are definitely planning to return!
Our stay at the villa Allonaki was an experience to be repeated: a very charming property, stunning views and very hospitable and helpful hosts! The property is excellently situated at the heart of Pelion and is very clean and stylishly decorated. You will certainly sleep well in the house, after having gazed at the stars of the Greek sky as seen from the countyside. The hosts, Stathis and Dimitris were extremely helpful and fully available to answer our numerous questions, throughout the duration of our stay. Our young childeen thouroughly enjoyed the garden at the little pool!
We visited Pelio and Pelion Homes to spend our first Christmas with our 3 month-old baby and had a wonderful time! Pelio is one of our favorite destinations in Greece during all year around.
Agios Georgios and the villages around are amongst the most picturesque and it's like travelling in time, while enjoying amazing walks in the forest and the apple trees following the old paths. This place really feels like the mythical home of Centauros! The village is built like a theatre with spectacular views of Volos gulf and the sunset and I must admit that from Alonaki (the house we rented) one can enjoy the best view while lying on a comfortable couch sitted on this wooden deck - extension of the yard!
Alonaki is a very cosy house with two bedrooms and one smaller one where our baby slept, all of them with a bathroom. There is a beautiful living room with fire place together with a kitchen which is very well equiped and an area with a dining table. we had breakfast in the balcony/garden as the weather was amazing gazing the sea and the village..and of course we very much enjoyed the deck! It felt like being in our own dream holiday house. Perfect place for relaxation, and escape from the city. Even our little one felt the difference and for the first time he slept 7 hours without waking up!!!
Stathis was the most friendly host. He gave us all these good advices about the area, the paths, the tavernas and he and his young son Orpheus made us feel even more at home.
We definitely recommend Pelion Homes!
We are 4 adults and 1 child and spent 7 nights at villa Alonaki during August 2015. We had a great time exploring the area's wild beaches , walking routes and charming villages with wonderfully preserved architecture. Both Stathis and his father know the local area very well and took time to talk to us and recommend beaches, restaurants and places to see. We were really touched by our hosts' kindness and hospitality when they offered us to use their family car for a day while we were waiting for our broken rental car to be replaced! The Villa is in a quiet location, decorated with charm and taste, and the view from the terrace across the bay is stunningly beautiful. The place stays cool in warm weather due to its location high up and we enjoyed the refreshing breeze in the evenings. The hammock was very popular with the whole family and our granddaughter had to compete for it with the adults! The children's pool is spacious enough for shared games and fun.The rooms were more than excellently equipped with anything you may wish for a comfortable stay. Complementary toiletries in the bathroom, bags filled with sweet lavender under the pillows. On arrival, a nice tray with welcome drinks and local snacks awaited us, and the fridge was stocked up with breakfast foods, milk and juices for next day's breakfast.
The village Agios Georgios is approx 10 min walk on foot from the villa and we enjoyed eating out without the need to drive.
This is a lovely Villa in a beautiful location, ideal for families/couples searching for an idyllic location and chilled out holiday.
We stayed for a week in Villa Alonaki, a charming small house with a stunning view It was a little tight for a family of five (with three teenagers) but we enjoyed the wonderful view and a nice terrasse. The house is very well designed in Pelion style and well equipped. Stathis and his father are very helpful guests and provide great information about Pelion which is an amazing region.
Compact and beautifully designed house was perfect for three girls - each had their own bathroom! The hosts have thought of everything - food for the first breakfast, maps and guides, hairdryer, lovely toiletries, blankets for sitting outside in the evening, we lacked for nothing. Kitchen has everything you would need and more, though we ate in restaurants as local food is so good. The view is stunning and there is a comfortable banquette on the terrace to sit or lie on. The house is equipped for all weather and has a small log fire. Stathis guided us to the meeting place by phone and answered any queries we had during our stay, we felt well cared for. Very quiet except for the first day when there was loud music during siesta but we think that was the village saint's day festival, only happens once a year. Beds comfortable, sound travels between living room and bedroom downstairs. Agios Georgios is a lovely village because it's a real, living village with tiny shops run by very old people from their kitchens selling everyday items. We loved the village estiatorio on the square, delicious tender lamb that must have been slow cooked for hours, also O Varkalos on Afissos seafront. Skill is needed for parking in front of the property, it's a tight squeeze to get out. All in all, a wonderful stay, highly recommended.
We spent 5 nights at the Villa Alonaki and had a fantastic experience. The family who own the Villa are really nice and super helpful recommending great beaches, places to eat and see. The Villa was beautiful and typical for the region, with breath-taking views across the bay and traditionally-decorated rooms. The house is equipped for all kinds of weather (although it was very hot when we were there!) Amazing to have breakfast served on the balcony and gently ease ourselves into the day the hammock is a great attraction for adults and children alike! The rooms were more than excellently equipped, even the fridge and cupboards were stocked with fantastic local food. With out doubt I would highly recommend this Villa and its fantastic facilities for families/couples searching for an idyllic location and chilled out holiday.
