First and foremost I have to shout out the owners of this vacation bungalow. Connie & Gary were the most pleasurable, friendly and nicest owners we've ever rented from in over 20+ years we've been renting through VRBO. Enjoyed our conversations and recommendations of all the things nearby to explore, shop and eat. Tremendous information for renters new to the seagrove/seaside/30A areas. The Bungalows community is simply GORGEOUS! Across the street from the white sandy beach and emerald clear ocean, very convenient. The Bungalows pool area is phenomenal - felt like we were at the Caribbean. The atmosphere at sunrise every morning was stunning! This bungalow has it ALL. Very comfortable bedding, fully equipped kitchen, reliable wifi, cable, spotless, nice decor with comfortable and adequate seating in the living room, dining room and breakfast bar. They have remembered everything, even a gas grill on the porch. Home away from home most definitely. Especially with Connies personal touches including her original artwork displayed throughout the bungalow😍 We were fortunate to meet some of the nicest locals and families staying at the bungalows, so much, we've exchanged emails and are still in touch. Blessed! Overall one the best and most memorable vacations of our years of traveling. Looking forward to our next stay here and many more after that. I know it's going to be added as one of our yearly family vacation destination traditions. Highly recommend staying here - top notch accommodations and top notch owners! Couldn't ask for anything better. Thank you Connie for your hospitality, kindness and offering your beautiful vacation home to us and other families to enjoy and make memories. We will return (asap) and we will keep in touch! Warmly, Bridget & Family
My family of 4 had a great week at the bungalows. The gulf was BEAUTIFUL! Water looked like the Carribean while we were there. The only complaints we had were the mattresses...my husband and I both had rough time sleeping on them...we even traded beds with our son mid trip and still found it to be uncomfortable. Everything else was nice and exactly as pictured. We used the grill a couple of times which was nice and the proximity to the pool was great! We would definitely stay at the Bungalows again.
This was our third stay in the Bungalows. We love the area and, even though the weather is iffy during March (our Spring Break), we continue to be drawn to the area for its beautiful beaches, quaint town, and overall affordability. This time, we could not use the beach too many days because the wind was too high. Luckily, the pool at the Bungalows is shielded by the Bungalows themselves, so we still had a place to soak up some rays.
This particular unit has some positives:
1) Easy-going yet responsive owner. No cleaning fees, flexible cancelation policy, flexible with me on when I paid the balance owed her (after pay day instead of when payment was technically due)
2) Pull-out sofa (my kids decided they did not want to sleep in the same room together this year, so the pull out was handy)
3) Convenient location within the complex.
4) Reliable wi-fi
5) Art work completed by the owner herself - nice touch
6) A balcony I actually used (because it looks on the pool and not another unit)
7) A grill
8) All the conveniences of the area: excellent proximity to the beach, convenient store, bike path, Seaside (one mile by bike), Goatfeathers seafood market just down the block (buy some steamed and seasoned shrimp - excellent!!), etc... etc... Really, the Bungalow's location has too many positives to list.
That said, the interior of this unit could use a paint job (perhaps in something other than flat paint so scuffs could be washed off), the bedding was a little inadequate, the dryer took 2 cycles to dry every load (perhaps the vent to the outside needs to be cleaned??), and my husband and son were not in love with the quality of the tv for March Madness (I could have cared less about this). The hot tub was also on the fritz the week we were there, but that is outside the owner's control. Service was called, so I am sure it will be fixed soon (it has been hot on our previous visits).
Like I said, I have stayed in this complex 3 times. Each unit has its pluses and its drawbacks. Overall, the affordability, convenience, and pleasurable owner outweigh the need for thicker comforters and a coat of paint, but if the owner would address these things, she would have it all.
We were in FL for our niece's wedding in Destin and stayed at the Bungalows for 4 nites.
Our daughter and husband stayed across the pool with their 3 young children.
The home was outstanding, clean, well equipped, attractive, and perfect for us, very convenient and we loved the community - even with the cooler temps, the kids especially enjoyed the hot tub each day and how great to be within walking distance for a change.
We found many good restaurants, although not a lot of time to explore with wedding activities.
We are so happy we found this area and plan to return someday.
Thanks so much.
This is a wonderful clean home. The owner was very virtuous and helpful! The little bungalow community where this house is located is warm and inviting. The pool view is lovely. This house has easy access to the pool and parking. We biked into sea side easily. It's near shops and dinning! With small children the walk to the beach would have been rough but we biked wt a chariot hooked on so it was lovely! Angelina's pizza (name not sure) was fantastic!
This rental was accurate in it's listing. It was exactly as the pictures were shown online. It was extremely neat, clean, comfortable, well-decorated, and well-maintained. It was perfect for our week long stay. It was very convenient to the pool and parking area as well, which made bringing luggage in and out of the car a much easier task. The owner answered all questions I had and was wonderful to work with. I would highly recommend this property to friends and relatives. We enjoyed the "Donut Hole" on Hwy 98, "98 Barbeque," "Goatfeathers" restaurant, Angelina's Pizzeria, and many other restaurants conveniently located. We enjoyed shopping at "Bass Pro Shops" in nearby Destin area and enjoyed many of the other outlet stores as well. The big event for us that week was going to "Big Kahunas" Waterpark. A little costly, but well worth it for a fun-filled day playing in the water. The beach was within a short walking distance from our Bungalow. The water was crystal clear and the sand a beautiful white color. This property had a nice, comfortable, family feel to it as there were quite a few families with children for our child to play with at the pool. Next time we might take or rent some bikes to ride, since everything, including stores are nearby.
