Perfect for Boating enthusiasts

  • 5 of 5

The property was clean upon arrival, there was a basket of cheese and wine waiting for us when we arrived. The owners were very nice and hospitable. It was the perfect location to enjoy swimming in the lake and boating. Anyone who visits here should be coming to experience the outdoors, the kayaks, the canoes, boating, swimming. The house does not have cable nor does it need it. This is the perfect getaway for anyone looking to spend a few days on the water and enjoy perfect sunsets

Just what the Doctor ordered!

  • 5 of 5

We found this little vacation home just what we needed. Water front and back, we swam, boated, kayaked every day. The breezes kept us cool, birds and butterflies filled the days, and the waves lulled us to sleep at night. We sat in the jacuzzi and watched the stars and posted endless pictures of the amazing sunsets. Friends and family who came to visit loved that they were ferried to the cottage in a pontoon boat. The owners took every step possible to meet our needs and help us relax. One day home and I am already being asked about our trip next year.

Owner's Response: We are grateful to God and enjoy where we live and rent our cottages. What makes it more enjoyable is meeting people like you Ann and your beautiful family. You and your husband raised you kids in such a proper manner. Matt was so delightful in the way he helped me, as I dropped off other guests in the interim of taking him to his rental pontoon. What a gentleman. I’m sure our guests next-door to your cottage were delighted as well at how Matt gave their kids tips on fishing. Thank you Ann, for taking the time to hear my miraculous healing story. I found you and your family to be so pleasant to be around from day one.

The property was not well maintained or cleaned

  • 1 of 5

Since this was a boat in property, we were provided a 14' boat to use and it was broken the entire time. Owners were nice enough and kept trying to fix it but it left us stranded on an island and unable to explore as we planned.

The house was covered in cob webs and spiders. The deck was not well maintained and had splinters. Door handle was broken on the front door. The beach was a mud hole with a few feet of sand.

This place could have been nice if it was cleaned and maintained but sure was not worth the money we paid. I would not return or recommend to anyone.

Owner's Response: Diedra, Your negative review was expected, as you started conflict through emails two weeks before your arrival. Martha and I talked about it and had to make a decision whether to cancel your reservation or deal with you when you arrived. The last thing we want to do is to cancel someone's vacation. After being in this business over twenty years, we have a very keen sense when talking to our future guests whether or not they will be problematic. Some people are just miserable most of the time and there is nothing anyone can do to change things. We thought that once you were here, you would relax and take in the beauty of this unique and wonderfully rare place. Our reviews before and after your stay speak for themselves. I'm not going to defend our cottage as it is a paradise to all who stay here. Martha and I tried very hard to make you happy while you were here. You did keep us running, but that is what we expected and we were glad to fulfill your wishes in hopes you would relax and eventually enjoy yourself. On the other hand, your family was wonderful. Martha, enjoyed the long talk with your Dad. He seemed very happy and content. The rest of your family were out in the boat exploring most of the time. By the way; we replaced the boat the first day, as someone in your group pulled out the gas line on the one we provided you. So you were not without a boat at all. Sean, told Martha how much he loved it here and how beautiful the beach is. Sean also mentioned that not only him but that also both his and your two dogs, had the vacation of their lives. Martha and I are very sorry that you are unhappy. We tried our best to please you. Towards the end of your stay, you seemed to relax and enjoy the surroundings. We were not made aware that the screen door handle had loosened during your stay. It was found and fixed the day you left. Our cottages are super clean. Our cleaners are the best! I really don't enjoy writing a response such as this one. I truly hope you find happiness in your life. Scott and Martha

My husband and our grown kids with spouses and grandbabies went here. The grandkids had a blast ages 11 and two are 8. We used the kayak's, the motor boat and the hot tub and of coarse Lake Ontario! We loved the view. I would say my only complaint is there were spider webs on the chairs stacked in the house and spiders and there was a lot of spiders out on the porch(some of us get freaked out over spiders). I did sweep the webs and we killed a few spiders too. Now, I'm not saying we wouldn't go again because you couldn't get ANY NICER OWNERS than Martha!! She is a sweetheart and she did a treasure hunt for our 3 grandkids!! She is a wonderful Lady!! The beds were comfortable and they had wine, cheese and crackers for us. They also furnished towels and wash clothes and linens for the beds. Its sure helps when you don't have to pack all that too! We won't be able to go next year because my son and wife are having a baby and getting a new place but we hope to in another couple of years. Thank you for everything Martha!! The only thing I'd like is to have a vacuum and mop available for us to use. There was a broom but with the kids and us swimming we couldn't mop up the water. Thanks again!!!! Beth, Cliff, Kenny, Rochelle, Paul, Becky, Cliff III, & Frankie!!

Our group of 3 couples plus my dog Tucker had a world class vacation here, would highly recommend! Martha watched Tucker while we went on a fishing charter, way above and beyond! Enjoyed fellowship and the sheer beauty of sun rises and sunsets. If you are looking for a great vacation with owners that care go here!
