About Joanne and Mark Jenkinson
We have been holidaying in the Lake District for many years, we can even remember camping at Limefitt when it was a tents only site! We have two children and know just what is needed to make a holiday home children can enjoy. We enjoy walking and eating out; this area of the Lakes allows us to do plenty of both!

Why Joanne and Mark Jenkinson chose Troutbeck
It is a beautiful spot to explore and our lodge is a perfect base for this. We hope families and couple alike will also enjoy the amazing wonders the Lake District offers and our lodge will help you make the lovely memories we have made visiting the Lakes over the years. What makes this Cabin unique
The hot tub is one of the great benefits of our lodge. It is heaven to sit and unwind after a long walk, or even a short one! The lodge is ideally situated within walking distance of two great pubs - The Queens Head and the Mortal Man. As well as having a great pub - The Haybarn - only 3 minutes walk away. There are some fantastic walks straight out of the park on to the fells. And the lodge itself has all the mod cons needed to help your holiday go well including a dishwasher, microwave and a DVD player for those cosy nights in. There are games in the lodge, a great play park and a fantastic river pool also on site to make sure the children are entertained. Although, if they're anything like ours, they will be spending most of their time in the hot tub!

Lovely property, perfect weekend getaway!
Excellent location and loved the hot tub. Brilliant host communication and easy to fine. Really well-equipped - dishwasher, hairdryer, microwave etc, however only 1 toilet roll for 4 people for 3 nights wasn’t ideal and the second bath/shower didn’t work and had some foil in an attempt to keep the attachment in place. Overall a great weekend however, thanks!
Thank you so much for your lovely comments. We were not aware about the issues with the shower - we will definitely look in to this. Apologies about the toilet roll too - this was clearly an oversight (and not an attempt to ration paper usage!) Thanks for alerting us to the issues - we aim to provide the best for our guests so are more than happy to work in any improvements needed. So pleased you had a lovely time - it is such a beautiful part of the world. Thanks again for your wonderful comments - it is so nice to hear from guests who love our lodge as much as we do.
perfect location for a short Easter break with the children
we really enjoyed our stay here. very clean and well equipped lodge. we have stayed on the site before and love the location. We will definitely stay again :)
Thank you. We are so glad you enjoyed it.
Spoilt by no heating on arrival - very uncomfortable first night.
The property overall is fine, however on our arrival on a March evening there was no heating. It eventually transpired that the boiler had not been primed with water and hence no heating. with limited mobile signal, having to go back to the reception (which for some reason was not being attended even thought it was only approx. 19:20) I contacted the owners. whilst someone attended after approx. 15 minutes, the cabin was absolutely freezing and the first evening was very uncomfortable.
May we take this opportunity to reiterate our apology to you for the unfortunate issue you experienced with the boiler. However, as you kindly acknowledge, within 15 minutes of you reporting the problem it was resolved. We would like to repeat our offer of a discounted rate for a future stay and, also assure you that as a direct result of your experience, we have reviewed and changed our maintenance services. We now have clear procedures in place to enable guests to contact the maintenance team directly. Thank you for your feedback.

The Lake District is famous for its amazing scenery and idyllic walks. Whatever the weather you are guaranteed to experience some fantastic views in the most tranquil surroundings. There are many tourist attractions on your doorstep including the Beatrix Potter attractions as well as Wordsworth and Coleridge museums. Closer to the lodge there are many water activities on the beautiful Windermere Lake to be enjoyed including sailing, water skiing or a trip on the steamer. There is the tree top adventure high ropes in the nearby Brock Holes and shops, pubs and cafes are in abundance in the towns nearby with many outdoor shops waiting to be explored. The more adventurous can participate in mountain biking, hiking, and pony trekking. All of these and more are just a stone's throw away from Bowness Lodge.
