The re-furbished farmhouse has three double bedrooms, the master bedroom (the former living room) has high ceilings, French windows and a separate dressing room and en suite shower room. Two further bedrooms, one with a double bed and the second with two single beds are located near the family bathroom. A large open plan kitchen (fully equipped) leads into a large open plan living/dining room with French doors onto the patio.

Both these rooms benefit from underfloor heating and a large wood burner in the living room. In addition Entertainment systems include a CD/MP3 music system, TV with UK satellite channels. In addition there is a study/office on the mezzanine to the main bedroom and a 'snug/library' in the centre of the house with a wood burner . WiFi is available.

Pool and gardens: Outside we have a salt water swimming pool that can be heated, typically we start swimming in April although the hearty can probably go earlier! There is also a large gas BBQ which we use all year round. The plot (over an acre/5000 square metres in size) is a mixture of lawns, flower beds and mature fruit trees (olives, figs, almonds and karob). The plot offers privacy and quiet whilst not being isolated.

We also have 4 mountain bikes available that are just OK! as long as you don't want to do anything too serious.

Towns/cities: Loule – 5 minutes drive to the west of us. Nearest large supermarket. Large (ish) town that is an administrative centre. Mixture of old and new architecture, many local restaurants, daily fruit and vegetable market.

Faro – 20 minutes drive south of us. Capital of the Algarve, historic centre which is great to wonder around, large supermarket, mall and lots of local restaurants.Faro Island – south of the airport and accessed from the airport road has a great beach and plenty of food/drink venues and is more local than tourist. This is also a popular surfing and kite surfing venue. Almancil – 15 minutes south west of us. Almancil is the top of what is known as the Golden Triangle made up of Quinta do Lago to the south east and Val do Lobo to the south west. These have the top golf courses and are mainly made up of villa accommodation. Within the triangle there are many restaurants of all kinds of cuisine.

Towns/cities : Vilamoura – not so much a town but an area centred on the marina which is about 20 minutes to the south west of us. Again this is a main golf area. Between here and Val do Lobo (above) is the seaside town of Quarteira.

Other historic (Roman and Moor influences) towns nearby are Estoi and Sao Bras de Alportel. And a little further west are Silves then eventually Sagres (Cabo do St Vincent) also known as the end of the world as it is the most Westerly point in Europe.

The Ria Formosa Natural Park is a wetland of international importance, the Ria Formosa is a maze of canals, islands, marshes and barrier islands, stretching 60kms along the Algarve coast, between the beaches of Manta Rota and Garrão.This diversity of ecosystems attracts a varied fauna that includes numerous species of birds.

Dear Julie,

Just want to take a moment to say how much we enjoyed our time in your lovely vacation home. We've been in a lot of great holiday rentals but yours really sets the bar as hard to beat. We enjoyed everything, the pool, fantastic kitchen, fireplaces, bbq, cozy places to sit everywhere, ect.! We left some pool toys (innertube, floating raft, rackets/ball) we bought in your pool house, if that's annoying maybe your house manager could get rid of them.

One last thing, would you mind telling us the brand of your living room lounge couch, we meant to look at one of the tags and make note of it and forgot :).

Thanks again for your hospitality and sharing your home with vacation goers like us!!

The true algrave with a touch of class

traditional exterior with a contemporary interior.super large kitchen and living room.Loved the large wrap around veranda which offered shade all day long,best of all was the heated pool which meant you could go for a sunrise swim.Great garden and plenty of outdoor furniture.

Just Perfect!!!

Our 2nd visit to this beautiful Villa which is outstanding in every way.

The Villa is spotlessly clean, comfortable and equipped with everything needed for a wonderful holiday.

The salt water pool is so much nicer than chlorine, absolutely love it!

Communication with Julie is exceptional.

We hope to return for a 3rd visit in the very near future!

High quality, comfortable and relaxing

CB became a wonderful home from home for us for two week in the summer. We needed a comfortable and relaxing destination for the four of us and CB definitely met our needs. The accommodation is clean and very well equipped, the pool was a great place to escape from the heat and the grounds all round the property made it very secluded and peaceful.

10 days of bliss in this beautiful home!

The Villa is OUTSTANDING and totally exceeded our expectations

Gorgeous views, tranquil location, stunning grounds with an absolutely fabulous 'home from home' feel.

The Villa was equipped with everything needed and all of the furniture, inside and out, was extremely comfortable.

The salt water pool was amazing and so much nicer than chlorine.

The Villa is spotless and very well maintained and it was a pleasure to look after it during out stay.

The Villa is a simple journey from the airport and the large and small Supermarkets are easy to get to also.

Perfect location to explore the Algarve although we didn't venture far as the Villa was everything we wanted to relax and recharge our batteries!

I celebrated a birthday during my stay and we dined at "Le Marquis Restaurant" (5 min drive) which was faultless and served the best fillet steak ever!

Julie the Villa owner was superb from the minute we made our enquiry to beyond our return. Fabulous communications throughout and very accommodating with a late check out.

The welcome pack was a lovely surprise which we thoroughly enjoyed on our arrival along with the bonus of some fresh almonds, grapes and figs from the garden during our stay.

We have stayed in many Villa's in the Algarve and this was by far the best one yet.

We would highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone and will definitely return as soon as possible.

Merveilleuses vacances!

Nous avons passé une très bonne semaine. La maison est tranquille, très bien équipée et entretenue, des espaces à vivre très fonctionnels à l'extérieur et à l'intérieur.

Un point de départ idéal pour visiter l'Algarve vers l'ouest et vers l'est, à l'écart des hordes de touristes.

Le super marché est à 5 à 10 mn en voiture.

Pour les restaurants nous avons trouvé satisfaction à Loulé, à 5 à 10 mn de la maison.

Owner's Response: Translation - We spent a great week. The house is quiet, very well equipped and maintained, living spaces very functional outside and inside. An ideal starting point to visit the Algarve to the west and east, away from the tourist crowds. The supermarket is 5-10 minutes by car. For restaurants we found satisfaction in Loulé, in 5-10 minutes from the house. Thank you Response - Veronique , thank you so much for your comments. It's great when our guests endorse what we say on our website, our home is very well equipped, especially the kitchen and it offers a lots of living space indoors and out. Our home is a lovely refurbished and extended farmhouse located in the valley of Goldra Da Cima approximately 20 minutes drive from Faro Airport on the delightful Algarve in Portugal.The immediate neighbourhood is rural but not isolated. The nearest village, Santa Barbara de Nexe, is 5 minutes drive away and has a petrol station, bakery, restaurants, etc. The nearest large supermarket is 10 minutes drive towards the large town of Loule, there is also a large fresh produce market. We are 20 minutes drive to the coast and the wonderful beaches and within easy reach of the world class golf courses and other activities that the Algarve has to offer. Central locations such as Faro, Loule, Almancil, Quinta do Lago, Val do Lobo and Vilamoura are all within 20 minutes drive. An abundance of restaurants, cafes and bars can be found throughout the area.The beautiful and historic Spanish city of Seville is only 120miles (2 hours drive) away and Lisbon is about 170 miles away.

Other Activities: Jet skiing, go-karting, bird watching

The open swimming pool and layout of the outside is not suitable for very young children unless they are supervised at all times. There is no air-conditioning, the bedrooms have electric fans for the summer months. Heating is provided as follows - underfloor heating in both the kitchen and living/dining room along with a large contemporary log burner that rotates in the living room. A log burner in the 'snug'. Electric oil filled radiators (portable) in all the bedrooms and electric towel rails in both bathrooms. There ia ample parking on the plot, the main driveway can accommodate at least 3 vehicles and the second drive 1. Both have electronic gates.
