About the property

Welcome home to this 1923 Bungalow located in the heart of Asheville’s Historic Montford Neighborhood. This two-bedroom and one-bath home has just been updated with a new bathroom that features a large clawfoot bathtub with shower, large vanity with plenty of storage, ample lighting, and plush bath linens. The kitchen has been updated with all stainless steel appliances that include a gas range, dishwasher, refrigerator with built-in ice maker, and an over-the-range microwave with vent. With butcher block counter tops, this well equipped kitchen has everything you need for even the most discriminating chef. If you enjoy grilling, there is a full-size gas grill located just outside the kitchen door. Bedroom number one features a queen-size bed with memory foam mattress and a full size armoir with storage for hanging and folded clothes. Bedroom number two, which is separated by the bathroom, features a queen-size bed, closet, and dresser for clothes. It also has premium cable HDTV and DVD player. The dining room is situated between the kitchen and the living room with accommodations for up to six people. The living room is equipped with a full-size leather sofa and love seat, large screen HDTV with premium cable, which includes HBO, SHO, and Cinemax as well as a DVD player with internet streaming capability. For the cooler months there is also a gas fire place to provide warmth and ambiance. On the front of the house you will find a charming front porch with a porch swing and bistro table for two. Enjoy your favorite beverage, reading a book, or just relaxing as you people watch. The house is located above the street with views looking to the east at Town Mountain. Street parking is available as well as a private drive and parking in the rear of the home. A full-size washer and dryer is available in the home for your convenience.

Once you arrive, there is very little need for a vehicle. Harris Teeter and Trader Joe’s grocery stores are a short seven-minute walk from the house. Bustling downtown Asheville is only a ten-minute walk. There you will find over 65 eclectic and unique restaurants, independent shops, theaters, coffee and tea shops, and lastly, but not least, all of the independent micro breweries. Most of the breweries offer tours of their facilities, which has made Asheville known as “Beer City USA”. Come see why Asheville has often been referred to as “The Paris of The South”. If you enjoy architecture Asheville has many historic buildings and churches with some very unique features like the Grove Arcade, St. Lawrence Basilica, S&W Building, and Woolworth building with the original soda fountain counter still serving sandwiches and milk shakes.

There are many day trips too. The Blue Ridge Parkway is just a ten-minute drive away. Chimney Rock and Lake Lure, where the movies Dirty Dancing and Last of the Mohicans were filmed, are a few “must sees”. Black Mountain, Hendersonville, Hot Springs, Brevard, and Waynesville are some other unique mountain towns.

If you are in to hiking, biking or simply going on a leisure stroll, there are many trails, state parks, waterfalls, and rivers for tubing, kayaking, and white water rafting.

The Biltmore Estate is only a ten minute drive from the house. It is the largest privately owned estate in North America and has it’s own winery. Enjoy the tours, restaurants, shopping, and of course, the French Chateau style home built by George W. Vanderbilt.

Whatever your reason to visit Asheville, you will never be short on anything to do, even if it’s absolutely nothing. Our home provides a relaxing, comfortable, and convenient place to start. Welcome home!

Charming, historic cottage with unbeatable location

  • 5 of 5

This house is just as charming as the photos. It is nicely renovated and furnished, with a very well stocked kitchen for all your cooking needs. The location is unbeatable--you can walk to the restaurants downtown, the breweries on the South slope, excellent neighborhood restaurants like Chiesa and Nine Mile, and the Reed Creek Greenway. Mark and Scott were perfect hosts.

Stop looking elsewhere....Your next HomeAway stay in Asheville is right here!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were fortunate enough to rent this charming, well renovated 1920's bungalow within walking distance of downtown Asheville with its many restaurants, bars and the U.S Cellular Center for spectacular live events. There was also the YMCA, yoga studio, and kid/pet friendly Montford Park along with the Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and Harris Teeter that are all right down the street ....Not to mention the Blue Ridge Parkway being steps away as well. The owners of the property are sincerely some of the friendliest and most caring people we have ever met. The whole house was fully stocked with bed/bath linens and every amenity necessary to move right in (from Cable and Wi-Fi to the Pots and Pans)! The second room was ideal for when guest visited and the private off road parking around back was a major plus too. We could not have asked to rent a better home in a better location in the Asheville area and thanks to the owners for making our extended stay so care free! We highly recommend this property and will definitely stay there again in the future!

Summer in Asheville

  • 5 of 5

My two toy poodles and I spent a month in Asheville this summer. We really enjoyed the Monford historic district and the convenience of being able to walk to town. The bungalow was cute and comfortable, just perfect for us. Mark and Scott were very quick to address any calls or concerns and I would definitely like to stay there again next year.

Adorable cottage close to downtown

  • 5 of 5

Great location, spotlessly clean and very charming bungalow, ten minute walk to downtown. House has everything you need for a perfect stay in Asheville. Proximity to Trader Joe's/Whole Foods and a well-appointed kitchen even made me want to cook, which I don't do very often, even in my own kitchen! Mark and Scott are excellent hosts and instantly made me feel at home. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a cute and comfortable stay in Asheville.

Asheville Treasure Near Everything for Work and Fun!

  • 5 of 5

The rental was perfect for work week needs and to accommodate friends and family visiting for long weekends. The location was ideal, nice quiet street with short walk to downtown for shops and restaurants but easy to get car out and get to work locations. The house was immaculate with loads of character and had everything needed to feel comfortable and right at home. Everything was set up just right when I arrived, it is so nice to just walk into a place, drop your bags, and feel at home.

I will definitely come back and stay next extended work trip or vacation and recommend this place for anyone staying awhile. Asheville is a fantastic city with so much to see and do. My favorites were all the breweries near by (which makes walkable location better), restaurants, and places for great art work. Also close drive to Blue Ridge Parkway and all mountain activities near by.

The owners were perfect hosts, set me up nicely in the place, willing to answer all questions about the area, and made some great suggestions on what to see and do.

I would highly recommend this rental in downtown Asheville!

Minutes to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Biltmore Estate, historic Grove Park Inn and walking distance to downtown Asheville (7 minute walk). Our local and independent restaurants (over 65), wine venues, craft breweries, artisanal cocktail lounges, gourmet coffee and tea shops, and award winning chocolatiers are what makes downtown Asheville a unique and charming destination for all visitors.

Downtown galleries, community theatre, the Artist's of the Historic River Arts District, and the NC Arboretum or only a few things that the arts lover in all of us will enjoy.

For the outdoor enthusiast, cycling in the Asheville area is second to none. Horseback riding, hiking, waterfalls and canopy tours will keep your interests peaked.

NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC- Asheville is an "Up-and-coming" city that's among the world's best. As well as "a mecca of awesome mountain scenery, bohemian art and high southern cuisine". "Asheville's exuberant foodie scene is all about fusion and updated southern favorites".
