Had a lovely short break at Huckleberry Cottage. Arrived at The Black Horse Pub to pick the keys up and was welcomed by a freindly face. The cottage was well equipped with everything you can possible need for a comfortable stay. Log fire was very cosy at night and the property even has under floor heating. The beds were very large and comfortable and the linen was of a very high standard which is a must for me. Bathroom was very clean but could of done with some nice big bath sheets a towels were abit small. My daughter enjoyed exploring the fields around the cottage and we all felt very safe and secure duing our stay. Felt like you were in the middle of no-where but lots of local ammenities including The Stables bar, Beamish Hall, Italian restaraunt and shops just a short drive from the cotage. Would highly recommend this rental to friends and family and will hoping to stay again ourselves.
What a find! Beautiful cottage, clean ,fully equipped, every need covered, lovely views beautiful setting, added benefit of having a great pub only a stone throw away which has great food, very friendly staff and locals, can't wait to return!!!
A well equipped and clean property. In lovely grounds with great views.
We stayed three nights at the cottage, and our expectations were fully justified by the description. The cottage is in a great location, we felt safe letting the dog run about without his lead. The cottage was beautifully furnished and the whole experience was wonderful. The scenery was superb open fields and woods, what more can you ask for. The Black Horse was just a short walk and the food and atmosphere were great - staff friendly and helpful.
Huckleberry Cottage was ideal. we were given good instructions as to how to get there. It was spotlessly clean and well equipped. Surroundings were quiet and peaceful. In all, everything you would wish for. The owner has been very helpful, but unfortunately I can't say the same about HomeAway who appear to be unable to refund the deposit even although the owner told us it had been processed.
The property is exactly as it looks in the pictures - it is stunning. The under flooring heating means the cottage is lovely and warm. It is very well equipped right down to a picnic basket and blanket.
You can walk to the Black Horse pub just up the track from the cottage and the food is excellent - catering the children as well. There is a playground and childrens meals on the menu.
The location is great for getting out and about in the area - on a 5 minute drive to Beamish.
I would definitely recommend staying here - we will definitely be back again.
Went for 2 nights in Feb with my husband and my two young children!
We loved our stay, the house was very well located and so clean and warm!
I have told all my friends and family about this little gem and can't wait to go back for a relaxing few days again!
10/10 couldn't fault it :)
