About Melanie Ebertz
My roots are in the St. Croix River Valley, the house I invite you to stay in was my Grandma Florence's! I am passionate about the river, the history & the arts & architecture of Stillwater. I love the cycling, walking and all the great things our river town offers. I am a guide of the Peruvian Andes so the hills keep me as closely connected to the mountains as the mid-west can get. I also design Peruvian textiles, so there is a lot of rich color & texture in the house. Having guiding in my genes, I am always happy to point guests in the direction of their passions.
Melanie Ebertz purchased this House in 2000

Awesome historical home
What a fantastic home to stay in! All the character and quaintness of an historic home, yet all the amenities you need. Beautifully restored and furnished, porches are perfect to relax, enjoy the lovely yard, close to downtown, our group of 4 friends thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Melanie was so caring to make sure we got in ok, everything was alright, answered questions, wonderful hostess keeping in constant communication, Loved the history of the home. This is where we will be coming back to for our annual girls weekend every year!
Brenda and friends, I can't wait for you to come back next year!!! It was my pleasure to have you enjoy the house and town, thank you! Mi casa es tu casa! Melanie
This hous will embrace you with comfort and charm.
The labyrinth in the yard only hints at the uniqueness of what awaits you inside. The house has nineteenth century charm with twenty-first century convenience. With two enclosed porches and two large sitting areas with amazingly comfortable couches and chairs, my family decided to invite our friends to the house rather than meet them in town. Located in a quiet neighborhood, the property gave us a place to relax and reflect. The yard has beautiful flower gardens , picnic table, and chairs, and, of course, the labyrinth. This house was a gem of a find, and on a return trip, this is the only place I would want to stay. Melanie, the owner, is the perfect hostess—always available, sensitive to needs, but not intrusive.
Ann Louise and family enjoyed the house and yard in the perfect way for their return visit 'home' I can't wait for them to come back! Thank you!

Stay at Stillwater MN Historic Home
The property we rented in Stillwater was perfect for our home base as we explored the St Croix river valley, and made a few trips into the cities. Melanie was very responsive to questions, the house was tidy and well stocked with everything we needed for our stay.
Todd, It was really great having the 3 of you base at the house, awesome guests, I hope you come back! Melanie
Perfect for three gals as a home base for a weekend shopping and hiking.
Great to have you Heather, hope you come back again!
charming vacation in Stillwater
A truly charming house in an historic neighborhood. We loved sitting on the bright porch ... great place for reading, having a glass of wine or a nice nap. We enjoyed watching all the birds at the feeders during the spring migration. The kitchen is fully equipped, including electric teapot and a huge selection of cookbooks. The house was exceptionally clean. The beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed our neighborhood walks in and around Stillwater. It is a charming river town with some very nice restaurants ... we loved the tacos at Lolo and a great meal at Marx (all suggested by our host). Melanie is a great host and very knowledgeable about Stillwater and surroundings. Looking forward to our next visit.
Awesome guests!! Thank you Nancy and Steward
Stillwater is a River Town and there is much to do in this beautiful River Valley.
