About Clare Molloy

Part Brit, part Australian I love the mountains and can be found skiing and snowboarding in the winter and cycling up hills in the summer.

Clare Molloy purchased this chalet in 2012

Why Clare Molloy chose Valais

There is no better place to relax we have the best views in the Alps.

What makes this chalet unique

The views are incredible and I like to think we have thought of everything. There is nothing better than a glass of champagne in the hot tub after a day in the mountains.

Notes:
Accessibility: Chalet La Vache has its own driveway and parking for 4 cars. There is also a garage with space for 1 car. The main entrance to the chalet is via the terrace on the first floor, one set of steps from the carpark. Nendaz village is 2km up the road and offers plenty of restaurants, boutique shops, 3 supermarkets and numerous ski hire shops (residents at our chalet receive a 10% discount from Gaby Sports). However, the nearest boulangerie and smaller supermarket is about 1km up the road. The closest telecabine is in the village (car parking is plentiful) which takes you up to Tracouet at 2200m. Other starting points include Siviez (10 minutes), Veysonnaz (15 minutes) and Thyon (20 minutes).

Great chalet super for two families well laid out and great facilities and location. Amazing view we ever tired of. Very child friendly and super helpful chalet owners.

Location great for ski slopes and lots of variety for skiing options enough to do different things every day and not cover same ground

Fantastic family holiday in the sun in a brilliant chalet!

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful chalet, with all the facilities for a great family holiday, with fabulous views and in a great location. The hot tub, sauna, table tennis, Wii, and balcony all provided for a brilliant time and very welcome after a long day from walking and trips out. (a few good card games of "Uno" also!)

Too many walks and trips to list them all out, but the Bisse walks were excellent, the thematic paths - barefoot, sculpture, pine cone and panaromic (leaflets from tourist office) were all completed with the boys able to claim a prize at the tourist office after completing the trails and quiz sheets. We drove to Chamonix via Emosson dam, Kandersteg via the Lotschberg road train to visit the International Scout Centre, and Zermatt and the Gornegrat cog train.

We were a family of four, with two boys aged 12 & 10, and our dog, and the chalet was just amazing. All of us had a very enjoyable two weeks stay, and it was very sad to leave.

Would highly recommend this chalet for a great family holiday.

Stunning “Chalet La Vache”

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at “Chalet La Vache” this summer and as other Tripadvisors have said, the views are absolutely stunning. We still miss the large windows in the living area looking out onto the valley whilst having breakfast! The chalet had everything that we needed and was in an excellent, clean and modern condition, whilst the hot tub and sauna were a great addition, especially after some of the bisse walks we did!

The Chalet is located in an ideal position to explore Nendaz and the various bisse walks it offers, the main town of Sion is only 15 mins drive and the Friday market is a must. Nendaz has an open air swimming pool which has stunning views overlooking the beautiful mountains.

We would highly recommend “La Lanterne et le Vieux-Chalet” restaurant as we had an excellent meal to celebrate our last night in the chalet. The staff there were very friendly and helpful and the chef came out to explain the menu to us in English.

Clare was excellent in her communications, was very helpful and friendly and made the whole booking process a breeze, would definitely stay here again!

Breathtaking views and gorgeous chalet

  • 5 of 5

Our stay over Christmas was a much anticipated time away from the normal which this chalet allowed us to achieve. Clare is an attentive and gracious owner who looked after each question and even made sure there was a store run complete by her manager so we would have food for Christmas day in case stores were closed. The chalet was enjoyed by my family and we were able to use the grill, ping pong table, hot tub and fireplace. Snow was in short supply but I can imagine this to be a beautiful snow escape as well. Not far above the chalet is a charming ski village with plenty of fun activities for the family. Sion is a quick drive down the mountain to access train and shopping. Matilda the cow provided a few moments of humor as she gazes in a window with spotlight. The only point I would make prior to settling in is to make sure the spa is in working order. The sauna takes much time to warm up and is not quickly usable. The hot tub does not stay at a consistent warm temperature when uncovered and used for longer than 30 minutes. Our stay was enjoyable and we certainly would stay again if we could get away to beautiful Switzerland. Thank you, Clare!

Wonderful chalet, beautiful scenery

  • 5 of 5

Chalet La Vache is a very comfortable and clean chalet located high up and overlooking spectacular views from all the windows. it has a very large lounge with good seating and a well equipped kitchen to suit all level of catering and both inside and outside dining areas to suit all seasons. Enjoy a glass of champagne in the hot tub or a relaxing sauna while watching the sun go down. This is our second visit, both during September, and although not the ski season there is still so much to do and see in the area. We would recommend the Friday morning market in Sion, very interesting, and a cable car trip to the peak which has stunning views. Also a visit to Montreaux situated on Lake Geneva, just like being in the South of France! This chalet has everything that you would require for a fabulous holiday.
