The 6200 sq.m property leaned against the Alpilles and located in the most sought-after area of Maussane boasts of an exceptional view of the valley of Les Baux-de-Provence. This rental preserves your search of tranquillity: misaligned compared with the house of the owners, separated from this one by a small uninhabited building and protected by the vegetation, it boasts of its own access path. Environment-friendly materials: whitewash coating, ecological paint, heat pump and thermal and sound insulation. The access to the pool (10x5 m) is to be shared with the 2 tenants of another gite (located in front of this one) is free.

The street level and air-conditioned rooms open from every side onto the beautiful landscapes of the Alpilles and the garden. The 2 bedrooms boast of a reinforced sound insulation and open to the south onto a private and sheltered terrace. The living room opens onto a covered and shaded terrace with Mediterranean plants and the Alpilles in the background. High standing comfort. Ideal for 2 couples.

Beautiful "gem" in Provence

The apartment as a part of the owner's residence works very well for 2 couples (or a small family). We enjoyed it with another couple this spring before the "season" so we were not able to enjoy the beautiful pool as it was just beginning to get warm. Maussanne is a true food lovers area and close to so many little gems in the area. We cooked in a few nights and enjoyed the availability of incredible produce and products in the town of Maussanne. There are wonderful restaurants in the town or close by. You can easily take day trips to Chateauneuf du Pape or enjoy the local markets and shops in St. Remy., Arles and Avignon. Hiking in Les-Baux-de Provence is beautiful and the list goes on. The grounds and attention to every detail are well thought out by the owners.

Absolutely wonderful!

I recently stayed in this lovely villa for a week and it was perfect for my friend and I. We each had our own bedroom and bath. The bedrooms and baths are almost identical, so there was no problem with someone getting a better room than the other. Bedrooms and living areas are all air-conditioned although I never needed it in my bedroom. Our hosts have put so much work into the grounds around the villa - beautiful lavender, flowers, fruit trees, olive trees - the views from our rooms were gorgeous!! Our hostess was so nice and helpful and we enjoyed visiting with her. The location is great, too! We were within easy reach of so much of Provence that we wanted to see. The little town (Maussane-les-Alpilles) has a number of very good restaurants. Our only issue was that we never could figure out how to use the microwave/convection oven - but that was a minor problem. Just a matter of European vs American appliances. I give this villa 5 stars and if I return to Provence, I would love to stay here again. Thank you for sharing your home with us!!!!!

Beautiful setting and home

This home was well-kept, peaceful, and in a beautiful setting. Everything you need to be at ease and comfortable when preparing food is available in the kitchen, as well as a washing machine with a clothesline just outside the back door. The bathrooms are lovely. The owner is personable and helpful and has great taste in food - listen to her recommendations about where to eat and you will profit! The grounds are well-landscaped and large and, while there are two other dwellings adjacent (the owner's and another rental), there is more than ample privacy for each. Having privacy was never a problem. Even in the house itself, the two bedrooms are quite separate. The swimming pool was lovely. In my opinion, this is a home perfect for adults - I'm not sure about children, at least US children, due to the pristine condition of the house.

Another bonus - the owner is very kind in dealing with flawed French, which gave us a chance to practice.

The area itself is one of the most pleasant on this planet and it's fantastic to hav Roman ruins, Van Gogh's haunts, Daudet's windmills, markets every day, perfect fruit, vegetables and olive oil, and even, if you want a day trip, the Chauvet cave. You can’t possibly do everything you want in a week.

Great place to spend a week.

No better way to celebrate 50 years of marriage with friends. The location is perfect for seeing one of the most beautiful regions in France. Our "home away from home" was beautiful, perfectly appointed and very comfortable. The owner made our stay a true French experience and she is very personable and helpful. Wonderful views for a painter and superb location for shopping, eating and generally relaxing. Thank you Madame!

Beautiful property in a lovely area of Provence

The property is beautiful, very well-maintained and comfortable. The two bedrooms are perfect for two couples and the views from the bedrooms are stunning - over the lavender and other flower beds, olive trees, pool and countryside. The location is perfect: quiet but close to the small town of Maussane with its wonderful outdoor restaurants and amazing food. It's also handy for visiting many interesting places and sights. The owner is very particular, but it didn't spoil our stay. She respected our privacy.

Owner's Response: I am "very particular" ? The words which are the most usual about me are kindness and discretion in the appréciations on Abritel and in our visitors'book : I like very much to welcome people ! I accepted that these tenants manage one hour and a half prematurely normal to arrive (therefore, I did not lunch!), I helped them to carry their luggage: no word of thanks ! Upon their arrival in the cottage, not a word either, even when they have seen the botle of orange juice that I have put for them in the refrigerator! It was icy ! Worry, I even asked them if the cottage suited them ! And then, I saw again them only the day of the departure because they have not ask me for anything : the region, the monuments, the markets ... They carefully avoided us !

Beautiful, safe and relaxing!

A beautiful, safe, clean and private cottage located literally at the foot of the Alpilles, about a mile outside of Maussane. Its central location in Provence gives you easy access to St. Remy, Les Baux, Eygalieres and even Avignon. It's an easy 55 minute drive to the Marseilles airport. The grounds are gorgeous and you will quickly find a lower resting heart rate as you sip a Rose by the pool, terrace or olive grove. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, shower and terrace - making it an ideal rental for 2 couples. The town of Maussane is quaint and has a lovely square with outdoor dining. The owners are helpful and respect your privacy. Everything is very well organized and all necessary info is detailed in a renter's binder (the only downside is that it is completely in French). A damage deposit and local taxes are due upon arrival. This is a truly beautiful and well-situated home base to explore Provence. We would definitely return.

In the unspoilt environment of the regional nature park of the Alpilles, 1.5 km away from the beautiful village of Maussane, 5 km away from Les Baux-de-Provence, 12 km away from Saint-Rémy-de-Provence and close to Arles, the Camargue, Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, Avignon and the Luberon, the property, leaned against the Alpilles with a dominant position, offers an exceptional view of the valley of Les Baux-de-Provence to the south and of the Alpilles to the north. Its stretches over 6200 m² and is fenced and closed with an automatic gate. It is composed of 3 terraces: the 1rst one is an olive grove, the 2nd one has a patch of lavender and a pool and the 3rd one is the one of the house with also laurels, roses, plumbagos and rosemary.

Golf: there are 2 golf courses (18 holes), the one of Les Baux-de-Provence and the one of Mouriès (Servanes).
