About Patricia Pellegrini Temple
My family discovered Solva when I was a child who loved sailing. 60 years later, still a keen sailor, although living abroad we return every year and never tire of the beauty of the bay and the charming Solva community.
Why Patricia Pellegrini Temple chose Solva
Nothing compares with sitting in the garden, (or the bay window) with a glass of wine and just soaking up the view across the bay.to Skolmer Island. In moonlight it is utterly magical. (The international space station passes overhead, approx every 20mins) Inside, is full of character, but is practical, warm, and well equipped, with original art work on the walls. Perfectly positioned for the local store, and pub and only a stones throw from the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path,, walk as far as you like and return by bus.
What makes this Cottage unique
Breathtaking views Large enclosed garden. No through-roads to cross on way to harbour. Close to Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, harbour and amenities.
Canceled bookings will not receive a refund
Superb home away from home.
My husband and I have enjoyed a fantastic week. George House is charming, clean and comfortable. The view never fails to enlighten. Central location and very close to coastal path. There is no compromising with efficient wi fi, comfie beds, efficient hot water system and quality white goods. I'm looking forward to home but know I will miss our very relaxing week here.
Gorgeous sea view cottage
Lovely cottage inside and out - had everything we needed and so homely. Did not want to leave and the sea view was gorgeous.
The cottage is, indeed, delightful – cosy, yet spacious enough, well-equipped, and with a sizeable sloping garden that offers superb views out to sea. With a stunning coastline on the doorstep, the charming harbour at Solva a few minutes' walk away, and excellent beaches just a few miles in the car, it's a perfect location for coastal walks, visiting Skomer and Ramsay islands, coasteering, kayaking, body boarding and surfing.
The cottage was spotless when we arrived, and Patricia was extremely helpful during our stay, answering texts and emails promptly whenever we had queries. In fact, the communication from the moment we booked was excellent.
Great accommodation in a wonderful part of the world. We were sorry to have to leave at the end of the week, but all good things have to come to an end!
Solva was nice but prefer Cornwall. Cottage was nice and comfortable
Had a nice time. Weather was not good but made the most of the area.
We are glad George House kept you all cosy and warm despite being unluky with the October weather. What a shame you weren't captivated by Pembrokeshire.
Would Not Hesitate to Recommend
We had a lovely stay at George House and would not hesitate to return or recommend to our friends and family. To summarise the best points....
The location cannot be beat, especially with kids. When you are in the cottage/garden you think you are miles from anywhere with a view to die for despite being on the main road and two houses down from a pub (neither of which we heard). A ten minute walk down a lovely path takes you to multiple pubs/restaurants, harbour with its lovely beach when the tide is out, costal path etc. Our children (youngest 4 years old) loved walking the path to and from town so we were able to have lovely early dinners out just a short stroll away. And when we were too lazy to venture to beaches further away, we took a picnic lunch and had a lovely time on the local tidal beach. St David's is only a 10 minute drive away and had anything you could need not found in Solva.
The cottage is very well equipped...everything needed to cook in the kitchen, laundry room, hairdryer, garden games, crabbing equipment etc. Did not miss anything.
Within minutes of sending my initial enquiry Patricia was on the phone from Europe to Dubai. Very prompt with any questions and couldn't have been easier to deal with.
The view is absolutely stunning and the garden such a wonderful place to relax.
What a truly delightful cottage! So well equipped and welcoming. The garden was just lovely with the most stunning views. All this plus first class service from the owner who is simply charming. We will definitely be back.
Solva is a tiny unspoilt village grown around a tidal inlet in the Pembrokeshire National Park. The lower part is bustling with, restaurants, pubs, shops, galleries..the upper part has a pub, general store, post office and church. The harbour offers safe bathing, rock pools, fishing trips and sailing tuition, where children spend
hours fishing for crabs. 6 kms away is the cathedral and city of St.David's hosting religious & cultural events. An excellent Adventure Centre caters for ALL levels, (nearby is a world famous whitewater canoe playground). In St.David's you can book boat trips very fast & exciting or slow and leisurely to observe seals, dolphins, puffins, gannets, shear waters... Pembrokeshire has one of the highest sunshine records, & more Blue Flag beaches than in any other county in Britain, & is a surfing paradise, you will be spoilt for choice. A bus service allows you to walk along the coast & return by bus. Pembrokeshire is magical all year, try May & June...
