Bothwell 37A is a luxury 2-bed conversion, newly renovated to the highest standard, situated in a scenic conservation village, 15 minutes drive from the Glasgow city centre and within easy reach of Stirling and Edinburgh. The luxury accommodation at Bothwell 37A comprises of 1 double and 1 twin bedroom, fully equipped kitchen/lounge/dining room, shower room with walk-in shower and the main bedroom has the addition of en-suite. The owners use the property as their own holiday home so the standard is exceptional. Bothwell 37A benefits from its own driveway and has a rear south facing garden with a patio area.

What an adorable place to stay. The accommodation is perfect for a short term let. Excellently appointed with clean, fresh, modern decor. I was visiting for business and having access to wifi was a real bonus! Booking process was very straightforward and I was kept well informed throughout the process, I found Karen very pleasant and easy to deal with. I am happy to highly recommend this property.

Great location - shame about the property

Location was ideal. The kitchen needs to be thoroughly cleaned and also the fridge/freezer doors need hanging on the opposite side due to the small kitchen. Had issues with both toilets in the property. Shower needs a door or curtain as it floods the shower room. Only comfortable seating for three people. Food thrown over wall from neighbouring restaurant.

Owner's Response: Thanks Allen for giving me some feedback on our apartment. Firstly I was upset to hear that you were not completely happy with your stay. In the 4 years that we have had this as our holiday home, this is the first time that anyone has said anything negative about it. I wish you had let me know during your stay that you had issues with the toilets and the food from the very nice restaurant next door and I would have tried to help with that but thanks for letting me know now. I will speak to the owner to make sure this doesn't happen again and if there is an issue with the kitchen cleaning I will address it. I realise that the lounge/kitchen is compact but hope that the photographs on the website do reflect this and the seating availability. I understand the weather was bad during your stay and you may not have seen Scotland at its best but I hope that doesn't put you off visiting our beautiful country again.

LOVED IT!

I loved staying in this Bothwell apartment. It was cozy and comfortable and had all the amenities I needed. I’m just sorry I was unable to enjoy the lovely back patio, as it was raining most of the time I was there. The apartment is clean and bright – modern appliances and décor. There is a comfortable living area adjacent to the kitchen. Since I was the only one staying, the twin bedroom was used for luggage storage. The master bedroom was very comfortable.

Location: The apartment is conveniently located outside Glasgow where it’s easy to hop on the highway for day trips to surrounding areas. Bothwell Castle is just a mile or so away and is a nice walk (or run, as I did). Next to Bothwell Castle is the River Clyde, which is gorgeous. If you are a runner – this is a great location for a run along the river. Quiet, beautiful and on a trail. Bothwell Castle is very interesting and the employee who was there – I believe his name was John – was very knowledgeable in its history and the area.

Restaurants: I only ate at the Italian restaurant next door as I utilized the kitchen and cooked meals and breakfast. The restaurant has good prices and friendly staff and the food was great. There is a Tesco Market within walking distance (the parking lot is a bit small).

Customer Service: Karen was great to work with. I’m in the U.S. and so we did our correspondence via email. She explained the whole process and the schedule of payments. Working through Homeaway was a good experience as well. Everything was very easy to handle. I arrived later in the day and was met by Karen’s Aunt Tricia and Karen’s mum. They welcomed me in and showed me around. You haven’t had a walkthrough until Aunt Tricia shows you the trick with the toilet in the master bedroom! Tricia and Karen were also very responsive when I thought the washing machine was not working. I didn’t know you had to set it to the “0” at the top of the dial. (The settings are different than other washers I’ve used in the UK and very different from mine in the U.S.). Tricia checked and left a note explaining how to turn it on. Thank you Tricia and Karen for dealing with this American tourist! 

I live in a very similar “granny cottage” in the U.S. that is small and cozy. I really felt like this was my home away from home. Thank you Karen for being a gracious host. Thank you Aunt Tricia for helping me with the washing machine! My only regret is that I didn’t get to meet the fabulous neighbors.

37A HAMILTON RD, BOTHWELL

This apartment is situated in Bothwell, a picturesque village just outside Glasgow City. It is very easy to get to from the South as the Junction 5 on M74 is only a few minutes drive. Everything we needed was within a walking distance, including all the restaurants, takeaway shops and a Co-op. Karen, the owner of the property, and Patricia, her aunt who looked after us on arrival, were very kind and helpful. We stayed in the apartment for 4 nights very comfortably and relaxed (certainly our son enjoyed a TV in his bedroom!). We will certainly go back to this apartment in the next visit to Glasgow.

A great Home from Home in Bothwell.

I have stayed several times at this proeprty while visiting family and friends back in Scotland and words alone don't seem enough to repay the great hospitality you get from Karen, her lovely Mum and Auntie Tricia.Tricia is always there to meet you with a cup of tea and shortbread and her genuine kindness.

I arrive at the airport and love the feeling as I drive along the M8 feeling like I am heading for home rather than a rented apartment.

The property is beautifully maintained, spotlessly clean and well equipped.

Bothwell is a smashing wee friendly village and a great base for getting around. There are many really good placs to eat too and all within easy walking distance.

Bill and Jean, the upstairs neighbours are so friendly and willing to lend a hand if need be. I needed it and Bill went to no end of trouble to dig my car out of the snow. I know, snow in Scotalnd is a rare event :) Bill also puts the bins out for you and always with a big cheery Good Morning to you as well.

This is a real gem of a find and I can't wait to come back home to Bothwell 37a in the near future.

PS Don't all book as I might just have shot myself in the foot here by proclaiming its glories.:)

What a great golfing break.

What a lovely place to stay. Don't be put off the fact that the building is old, Karen and John have made an excellent job of the decor. The apartment has been modernised and is very well laid out. It's clean and comfortable, with all the mod cons you need.

Bothwell is ideally situated for visiting Scotland's sites, including fine golf courses. This lovely little hamlet suited all of my needs. There are plenty of good takeaways, bars and restaurants locally. I have left comments in the visitors book in the apartment regarding which ones we tried and where they are.

I cannot recommend this apartment highly enough - we will definitely go back!

Located in the woodland area surrounding the 13th century Bothwell Castle, it is 10 miles from Glasgow City Centre and easily accessible from all directions being 1 mile from the M74 and 2 miles from the M8. Bothwell Castle Golf Club is a popular course with members and also visitors, many of whom return year after year. The course is well maintained and is challenging for players at all levels. The clubhouse with its excellent modern facilities is comfortable, welcoming and the staff provide an excellent service. It is a perfect venue for corporate and smaller group outings.
