The City of Alicante itself is very vibrant and ideal for all your shopping needs. Take a lift to the top of the castle and take in the splendid views. 45 minutes drive north brings you to Benidorm. The Three Kings – Los Reyes Magos on the 6th of January is when the Spanish children receive their presents. The children will love it, a truly amazing atmosphere, not to be missed and takes place in both Santa Pola and Alicante on the Eve of the 5th of January.

My husband and I both grew up in Oxford and still live in Oxfordshire. Whilst on our honeymoon in 1987 we went to visit my Aunt and Uncle who had a holiday home in Spain. We were so impressed by their wonderful life style that we began to dream of buying our own place in the sun. Now that dream has become a reality and we also have that wonderful life style, escaping from the cold to Alicante as often as we can.
GORDON AND LINDA DAVIES purchased this house in 2006
We had bought a small bungalow in Gran Alacant a few years previously and really fell in love with the area more each time we stayed. We especially liked the fact that it is so close to the airport and the beach. During the evenings we have all the restaurants and bars close to hand so we don't have to use the car. We often use the local transport too (very cheap) So when a larger property came up for sale a few roads nearer to the beach we went to take a look. The lovely Spanish couple showed us around and we certainly experienced the wow factor, especially when we saw the wonderful views of the sea. Within weeks the house was ours!
As our house faces the sea the views are stunning with the beach appearing endless. The high ceilings create such a spacious open feel throughout and the white marble staircase is so Spanish. Straight away we could picture ourselves breakfasting on the patio but as the day goes on the shade is a welcome relieve after a hot day on the beach.
The photo is of us enjoying a beer and tapas by the beach in January 2015
Had lovely few days, weather wasnt on our side but we made the most of it and Caitlin enjoyed making sandcastles, collecting shells, the road train, Rio Safari and of course the icecream! Thank you
I would like to thank Gordon & Linda for our amazing holiday.
We both got very tanned in our week away, we spent a lot of time down at the beach Hut being waited on and spent a day shopping in Alicante.
The house was lovely, it had everything we needed, the one time it rained we sat in and watched a couple of DVDs and played a boardgame.
I regret not doing any of the watersports, however, I really enjoyed my day doing a snorkel safari, I would highly recommend it to anyone else going, I saw some really nice fish and did a couple of swim thrus. The caves were a bit cold but if you ask for a wetsuit you will be fine.

very clean an with everything that you require, real friendly neighbours, owner very helpful with anything I asked before I arrived, lots of information about our stay and places to visit whilst there, Debbie and ken (Alicante contacts) were very helpful and full of local information, was easy to get to lots of places, because of local transport links, ie local coach company, local bus and land train, pool was lovely and clean, and would definitely go back ( fact already planning next visit)

We had an amazing weekend. The apartment is really nice and clean. I loved the balcony where we had a barbecue. It is a quiet area and there are restaurants and supermarkets nearby. We visited Benidorm, Alicante, Santa Pola and Tabarca island. We loved as well the swimming pool, really convenient if you don't wanna go down to the beach. We hope to be back soon, really loved it
We returned for a second time to stay at our favourite Spanish apartment.
The setting is fantastic with views across the bay. In the evening as the sky darkens and the lights shine brighter you can see the Castle in Alicante on top of the hill.
We like it because it's home from home. The moment you step through the door you start to relax as it's "your space" for a week or two. Kick off your shoes and chill with a glass of something on the terrace. Time stops.
When it's time to eat there's so much choice within strolling distance. Just need to book the steak-house in advance!
The beaches are clean. Not too crowded - you can always find a spot with privacy. But it's holiday time, so you don't mind sharing. The sea is safe for children as you can happily cool down in at least 10 metres before the water deepens. The public transport is regular, just watch out for festival days.
A real diamond within 4 hours of your front door! Can't wait to go back!
My Fiancé and I had the most amazing time in Alicante and this beautiful Apartment completed it. It was the perfect distance from anything we could want. The apartment itself was gorgeous and we spent a little bit too much time in it!
Thoroughly recommend it to everyone!
Location location location is everything with the airport just a 10 minute drive away and the beach just a 10 minute walk. The immediate area has lots of great places to eat with the very ornate Chinese restaurants particularly good value for money. During the winter months it is much quieter and not all of the bars/cafes will be open. There is a weekly market about a mile away where you can buy food as well as souvenirs. During the summer months the local tapas bars will give you a real taste of the Spanish way of life while the local shops can cater for all your needs. The holiday makers enjoy gathering in the local square during the evenings where there is always a friendly atmosphere and also an internet cafe. The endless beach is a 10 minute walk away and adjacent to the beach is a nature reserve edged with pine trees. It is an ideal location for runners, cyclist and swimmers alike it's wonderful to run or cycle along the coast road. Santa Pola is well worth a visit and it's here you will see the local fishermen with their catches of the day. It is in Santa Pola that you can Snorkel and Scuba Dive all year round. Also not to be missed is 3 Kings Day Fiesta celebrated on the 6th of January in both Santa Pola and Alicante. This is a real treat for the children on the evening of the 5th of January when the streets are filled with both adults and children on the build up to the 6th of January. There are good links to the surrounding areas including Santa Pola and Alicante city. Alicante airport itself is a 10 minute drive away. Alicante Castle is a must.
