About Douglas Jones
After owning a home in the BVI for over 15 years we decided to move back to the US to make it easier to come and go. We are also looking forward to having our 7 grand children visit us more often. We both want to enjoy the easy access to the beaches and snorkeling out our back door. The St Croix residents value their heritage as seen by preserving over 150 Sugar Mills around the island.
Douglas Jones purchased this Villa in 2016
Why Douglas Jones chose Green Cay
This is steps from the Ocean and walking distance to both a great neighborhood bar. The Snorkeling in front of our home is some of the best on the island. It is a conservation area and protected area from fishing.
What makes this Villa unique
Pool, Exercise Room, walk to 3 beaches, bar.

A Caribbean Gem
Amazing home in an unbeatable location. Can’t wait to return!
This property is everything and more of what you see online. It's comfortable, quiet, restful. The open door living with the breeze cooling the house is wonderful. And the view from the pool! One night we watched the shooting stars from the pool!
In the evening, we mainly hung out in the kitchen or by the pool. It was all about the breeze. All the rooms are very comfortable. The master bedroom has a perfect morning view to wake up to.
Many thanks to the owners, Doug and Linda, and to Colette, who met us when we arrived. I hope our paths cross again.
We are just leaving now! Actually in the airport. The house is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! Doug was great and Colette was Amazing!!! A lot of construction around the area and kind of limited restaurant choices. Limited use of the AC and water in order to conserve electricity and water was something we had to adjust to since we spent most of our time at the house, but it all worked out. We had a great time! Kayaking and relaxing by the infinity pool. The views are AWESOME day or night! Pictures DO NOT do this home justice!!! Thanks for letting us stay at you BEAUTIFUL HOME!!!
Thanks for staying in our home. Yes water is precious on island. We have been in a drought since January with very little relief. Our water is collected on the roof and stored in cisterns under the house. Our electrical rates are typically 4 times higher than the rates in the states and we do ask guests to turn off the A/C in the bedrooms during the day. The A/Cs will cool the bedrooms quickly so no need to run them when not in the room. We have ceiling fans and floor fans to use as well. Such is island life!
Great views and excellent access to Chenay bay. Pool is awesome and a great view of the Caribbean. Property Manager was great, brought a spare set of keys when we locked keys in a room and was responsive to any issues.
Only negative is the AC units in the bedrooms don’t push out much cold air. This isn’t likely an issue outside of summertime, but the bedrooms wouldn’t cool below 80F
Thanks for staying in our home. I think the problem you suggested with the A/C was that you set the temperature too low to start with. A/C's in the Caribbean need to cycle on and off inorder to operate properly, because of the high humidity. Otherwise they freeze up and stop cooling. We had a repairman to the house after your complaint and he cleaned the filters and said as much. There is no way the temp is going to reach 68 degrees where it was set. Set the temp at 76 to 78 as it states in your arrival book and you wil be fine, Close the louvred windows when using the A/C and close the shades during the day. We also have floor fans and ceiling fans in each bedroom to keep you comfortable at night.
Great property. Beautiful view. I would definitely stay at this property again.
Exceeded our expectations!
What a great vacation. I surprised my wife with a trip to St. Croix for her birthday and we were looking for a property that was on the ocean and had a pool located in the USVI. After booking this home, the owner Doug did a wonderful job of helping us plan our trip with ideas for the day, dinners out and even our transportation needs. Our wonderful home concierge Collete assisted us with anything we needed. The home is beyond words, it is perfect in every aspect. It has everything you will need, from in the kitchen to the two ocean kayaks and paddle boards. Great snorkeling on the reefs just outside your door. A beach is also right next door for your daily walks. We kayaked over to Green Cay Island after we got tired of staring at it from the pool (which has a wonderful sound system for hanging out all day in the infinity pool). Driving around the island was pretty easy, took a day getting used to driving on the left side of the road, but easy after that. Dinners on the island were top notch, try Duggans Reef, Ama's at Cane Bay, The Terrace at The Buccaneer, The Blue Terrace, pizza down on the boardwalk in Christiansted. The day trip to Buck Island to snorkel and beach time was something not to be missed. We loved every day and night of our vacation, we will be back to this home again!
Whim Museum tells the history of the large sugar plantations on the island. Definitely worth a visit.
