It is only 10-15 minutes from the airport and the livelier holiday resort Costa Caleta (also called Caleta de Fuste).

Golf buggies are available for hire at the clubhouse which also has a restaurant, Bar, Golf range and more. There are 3 lakes with a stream which meanders between them. Most of the course is quite flat. There is also a new 18 hole golf course (next door to the existing one), which is par 70, which offers similar to the above. El Cotillo which is just 30 minutes by car, Is a small fishing village with unspoilt beaches & crystal clear lagoons (watch out for the nudist beach). Gran Tarajal (20 min) - An ancient entrance gate for pirates, it is very picturesque, with a promenade, shops and restaurants. CostaCalma (30 mins). Wide, safe beaches, Morro Jable (50 min) Tourist town with shops and restaurants and beaches, Sotavento (40 min) Long sandy beaches ideal for surfing and wind surfing, Cofete (45 min) with a 11 km drive from Jandia along a narrow dirt track, but worth every nail biting second for the views of the white sand dotted amongst the black volcanic fingers. Correlejo (40 min). With day trips to Lanzarote, lots of shops, restaurants, harbour, fishing trips, whale watching tours & dolphin trips, the beeches are relatively small
Caleta de Fusta (Also called Costa Caleta): Calete de Fuste is purpose built for tourism, except the old fort which still stands proud amongst the new developments. There is never a bad time to take a holiday villa for rent in Fuerteventura. There are almost constant breezes which bless the Canary Islands with a refreshing yet hot climate and both the beaches and pools at the holiday villas in Fuerteventura are a luxury all year round. You are never short of things to do in Caleta de Fuste as it boast some fine shops and restaurants, a multi-screen cinema, plus ten-pin bowling and an excellent Spa facility. Water sports and boat trips are available from the harbour, with whale watching, sea lions and dolphin cruises as specialities. The nightlife provides live music and a wide variety of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. If needed, taxis are cheap and plentiful. It also holds an African style market on the main street which is worth a look (Remember to barter).
Information about Fuerteventura: Fuerteventura is the second largest of the Canary Islands, located 60 miles off the coast of Morocco. It is blessed with mainly white sandy beaches and a temperate climate all year round. With 3,000 hours of sunshine every year, the temperature varies from 62F in January to 77F in August. There are many enormous sand dunes, long sandy beaches and isolated rocky coves on the island, with surfing and wind-surfing a speciality. For cheap flights to Fuerteventura, it is best to shop around. Volcanic craters, river mouths and dramatic coastal views can all be found by bicycle, and for those who require a little more speed, there are off-road motorcycle tours too! Betancuria (15 min drive), the old capital of the island, was largely destroyed by pirates in the late 1500s, but was re-built in 1691 and still maintains much of its original architecture. Traditional craft shops and restaurants thrive in the area and the cathedral has been turned into the museum.

Villa Piedra - rural gem
We stayed at the villa in March 2009 and found that all the other reviews were true to their word. The villa has everything you could possibly need and was very clean and comfortable. The location is very quiet, rural and relaxing, but only 15 minutes away from a main shopping area and good beaches. There are good eating places in the village and the local manager was very helpful and was easily approachable should she be required - not that we had any problems. We were slightly hesitant, as we had always used villa companies before and never booked a villa direct with the owners, but we found the web site easy to use. The owners were very quick to reply and were very helpful if we had any queries. This villa was absolutely perfect in every way and we could reccomend it to anyone who would like a 'get away from it all' holiday. Our compliments to the owners. Richard and Glynis
Absolutely amazing Villa, fantastic for families
My family and I have just got back from a brilliant 10 day break at Villa Piedra. We couldn't have asked for much more, the villa is beautiful, clean and well equipped with everything a family needs. On arrival, we had been left the essentials and after and after travelling for 9 hours with two young children was a godsend! I would recommend hiring a car as there is so much to see and do on the island. We had some wonderful meals in Antigua and Caleta De Fuste.
Thanks Paul and Mirand for having us!
A large bright spacious villa with a fully equipped kitchen. Surrounded by Sun drenched terraces
A truly beautiful villa with 3 large bedrooms which suited my friends and I perfectly. A fully equipped kitchen which was used on a daily basis. We also used the bar-b-q several times. On entering the house we found it to be impeccably clean.
Although the pool was a little chilly we used it every day. The Sun beds were welcomed and very comfortable. There are several nice touches around the villa including a big box full of pool toys & beach toys. A supplied lilo inflator, and a giant connect 4 game whick kept us all busy.
The property is well furnished & decorated to a high standard. It's centrally situated on the island making it easy to explore every corner of the beautiful Fuerteventura. A car is a much needed tool and the island is easy to navigate. There are so many places to visit and the owners supplied plenty of ideas of where to go.
The villa is sat on the edge of a Spanish village surrounded by amazing mountain scenery. We even spotted the sea between the peaks. We found the locals friendly and the village shop well stocked.
Hats off to Paul & Miranda for this fantastic villa. I have already booked another trip with them
Quiet and rural large villa, good value for money.
Clean and reasonably equipped villa but with a few changes could easily improve some aspects. Lovely soft towels provided but we had to use these to sleep on as the pillows had so little stuffing in them. The villa smelt rather musty when we arrived as if it hadn't been used for some time. House rules are no food to be left at the villa so even basic condiments had to be purchased ( no salt or pepperpots either) and everything thrown away at the end of the stay. We had to throw lots of unused food items which we would have liked to leave for the next guests. Lovely location for a quiet and relaxing break, we particularly enjoyed the walk to Antigua. Internet was very good but TV was poor for English channels as is usual for this island. Make sure you leave one of the keys in the box during your stay, if the side door is closed accidentally you need the key to get back in, thanks to Jeff for coming to our aid! Owners respond quickly to emails and booking was handled smoothly. Good value for the price, would recommend to others looking for an 'away from it all' break.
Fantastic property well equipped
Property is beautiful. Very quiet when booking you definitely need a car as you are 10 mins from caleta de fuste and 5 mins to Antigua you could walk to Antigua but would take about 50 mins. We would return as it was just what we wanted. Lovely pub at bottom of the street. Jeff was very helpful. All I can say is fantastic loved it
2 weeks in Trickie
Lovely villa , booking went smoothly. car definitely needed . Nice we didn't need to take beach towels . Lovely village locals friendly . I really enjoyed staying it was fun
The holiday resort, Costa Caleta has a much larger choice of bars, shops, restaurants (incl Chinese, Italian, Indian, Greek, McDonald's, Burger King and many more) & chemist. It also has fantastic, child safe, white sandy beaches, 2 x 18 hole golf courses, mini golf, 10 pin bowling, boat trips, a huge variety of children’s and adults activities and nightly entertainment. Puerto del Rossario (15 min) is excellent for shopping, with a large shopping centre which has something to suit everyone. In the south of the island there is the oasis park zoo, camel treks and beautiful sandy beaches, stretching for miles, perfect for windsurfing and surfing. In the north of the island is correlejo (40 min), another large holiday resort offering similar to caleta with a water park. El cortillo in the west offers beautiful white sand beaches with crystal clear lagoons which are ideal for safe snorkeling. In the middle of the island are many old style, small villages, well worth a visit including Antigua just 5 minutes away. Other Activities: snorkeling, kite surfing, trike tours, water park, quads, buggies, catamaran, deep sea fishing, zoo.
