Hi, I'm Shauna and I live in Lyon after recently relocating from Edinburgh. I now spend my time between Lyon and the beautiful village of Meursault!! I first came to Meursault 7 years ago with my husband Stuart and fell in love with it. It is one of the most magical places in France and of course has some of the most amazing wine in the world!! I am originally from Canada, however, I moved to the UK to study 17 years ago and subsequently moved to Edinburgh for work. I now live in Lyon and Meursault with my husband and our little dog Rosie. I love to do yoga, have a passion for interior design and of course drinking wine!! I love to travel and experience new things and have a big interest in wine with many of our holidays particularly in Europe being based around wine regions. We also love traveling further a field to the far east and Asia, the USA and of course Canada! We purchased the property at the end of 2016 and spent all of 2017 renovating it to a very high standard. During my time in Edinburgh and along with my husband we ran a very successful holiday home which we enjoyed immensely. During this time we managed to maintain a 95% 5 star rating from our guests due the hard work and customer service that we offered. This is our new home and we hope to offer the exact same service and do everything possible to give you the very best holiday and experience of this fabulous region.
Shauna purchased this House in 2016
Why Shauna chose Meursault
We feel our property is extremely unique, not only due to its great location sandwiched between three of the most distinguished domaines in Burgundy in the village centre but the huge parkland garden it has to offer. The House is incredibly quirky with the main house based around a fabulous courtyard. The house maintains the traditional wooded beams, stone walls and Burgundian stone flooring and is complimented by all the modern furnishings following extensive renovation in 2017. The furniture is very high quality and extremely comfortable. For those unfamiliar with Meursault, what makes its such a great place is that unlike most other villages locally, everything is on your doorstep, from the butchers, bakers, grocery stores, coffee shops, bars restaurants , florist, art gallery just to name a few. It is has to be best kept of all the wine villages locally, immaculately maintained and manicured it really is the jewel in the cote d'or!! We have both travelled extensively through France and are yet to find a village quite like it.

We had a wonderful week at Shauna’s house. The property was beautiful and Shauna was an exceptional host, always available to answer our questions and and provide us with great recommendations. Thanks!
Perfect location ... perfect property ...
Spacious and Beautiful
This is a home for a family or group traveling together. Very nicely modernized with charming historic features intact. Loved the fireplace room, with the shutters open this is a very light home.
The owners were wonderful about our questions and quick to respond.
Beautiful house in Meursault
We had a wonderful stay in Meursault! The house is indeed much larger than we expected from the listing. We were a family of four with two young kids, plus a mother-in-law, and had plenty of space for everyone to feel comfortable. The courtyard is large and safe for the kids to run around. The rooms were large and beds extremely comfortable. The house itself is quite spectacular, mixing old and modern seamlessly. Oh and it's literally a 3 minute walk from the center of Meursault and all its shops. We will definitely come back!
Lovely property in wine country
My wife and I absolutely loved our stay at Shauna's home in Meursault. Shauna was so hospitable and welcoming, and was always there to answer any questions we had about the house or the local area. The home is so charming and lovely, with high quality finishes. The location of the home is amazing, so close to many amazing wineries, and very convenient to Beaune. We would absolutely recommend this home to anyone, and can't wait to come back soon!
Spacious and Authentic
Meursault is one of our favourite destinations, but it can be challenging to find accomodation that is within walking distance from the village center and this property is ideal. My husband and I were there to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. The weather co-operated for the most part, which is always a risk in October, but the reward is fewer crowds. Shauna was very communicative, the house was spotless and so much fun to explore. The owners have done a wonderful job in updating without losing the character of the building, and it has a very interesting history. There is only one bath/shower room, so be aware of that if planning on a larger group. There are an additional two toilets upstairs and one downstairs. My favorite rooms were the dining area and the fireplace room, (although we did not need a fire) and I having always wanted a home with real shutters I was able to enjoy the thrill of opening them all up.
The garden has a lovely seating area for warmer months, as well as the secluded courtyard for outdoor eating.
The kitchen uses a magnetic hob/cooktop which takes a bit of getting used to, fortunately we had prior experience.
Shauna left very detailed instructions on every aspect of the house and this was really helpful so we recommend studying this as soon as you arrive!!
Thank you kindly for your review and the great feedback. I would just like to let you know (along with any new potential guests) that from April 15th 2019 we will have another brand new shower/bathroom installed bringing the total to 2 full bathrooms and 3 additional toilets!
Thank you again for staying with us. It was a pleasure to host you and your husband.
The Morvan national park which is about 45 minute drive is one of France's hidden gems. Here you can go hiking, bike riding, fishing, sailing as well as many more activities. It is described as a piece of Canada and Scandinavia within France!!
