Clean and great location
Easy to access. Owners friendly and accommodating. Great central location.
Comfortable accommodations in a quiet area centrally located. Great AC.
Owner welcoming and helpful. Space is effectively 2 apartments which was perfect having 2 grown children traveling with us.
Great place to stay iin Rome!
A great unit that was perfectly clean and tidy. All the photos truly represent this apartment. The Owner met us upon our arrival and had everything well sorted out, and gave us a good overview of the apartment and surrounding area. Located in a great spot with many restaurants and convenience shops in close walking distance. We really enjoyed our stay here.
Great Apartment Close to the Colosseum
We had a wonderful stay at this apartment! This was our first visit to Rome. We were two families traveling together and there was plenty of room for all of us (4 adults and 5 kids) and we stayed for 7 nights. There are two main bedrooms and one great room/bedroom. Paola was very easy to communicate with and she met us at the apartment as scheduled. The apartment was well stocked with all that we needed (linens, extra blankets, kitchen items). Paola even scheduled for all the linens to be changed half way through our stay! The blue curtains in the rooms are great black out curtains, keeping the apartment dark (great for getting used to the time difference coming from the USA). There is a lift in the complex which makes getting luggage upstairs easy. The apartment was clean and in a great location. Walking distance to the Metro, the Colosseum (just around the corner), and to great restaurants and the grocery store. Also walking distance to a nice little park, on the way to the Colosseum, with an espresso stand. The windows block out a lot of the street noise, so overall a quiet stay. The complex is quiet too, we could just barely hear the neighbors. I would definitely recommend this apartment to travelers!!
When we first arrived one of the owners (Valerio) met with us with hints that very truly helpful, even arranging our transport back to the airport. The location is incredible. It is central to a lively urban life, yet quiet as it is buffered by a park. It is a short walk to the ancient city, and a hop skip and a jump to the Vatican. I agree with the reviewer who indicated that it was two apartments, perfect for our family of four (and would accommodate many more). The air conditioning was a blessing for those warm Roman days, and worked efficiently and quietly. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the kitchen, combined with a nearby co-op, saved many Euro in meals. While there were many things to see in Rome, this space was more than a launching pad, it was a place to truly relax and recharge. We will definitely stay again!
Beautiful Large Apartment Close To Everything!
We arrived at the apartment before a normal check-in time and the owners were extremely accommodating. We were able to leave our luggage there to go get some breakfast as they cleaned from previous tenants. The nephew provided us with a map and highlighted the nearby attractions which was totally helpful. We were definitely in the center of Rome. There was no need for a car. Everything was walking distance.
The apartment was much bigger than I anticipated. It was almost like 2 separate apartments with 2 kitchens. This was perfect for our family that included me and my husband, mother-in-law and two teenage boys. The apartment was very secure so we felt very safe. The apartment was extremely clean and linens were provided.
It was an excessively hot time to be in Rome, but the apartment did have AC and that made it even more comfortable. We did the the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica tour one day and the Colosseum the next. After a long day outside, it was definitely nice to come back to the apartment.
This listing is completely accurate, and the owners were very nice and helpful. This was our first time in Europe and also our first time using Homeaway.com. The owners made this booking stress free!! I would definitely recommend this to all of my friends and family.
Dear Lisa, it was a pleasure for us to welcome you in our apartment.
See you again in the next future.

“Otium Maecenatis et Neronis” is an elegant apartment situated in the heart of the central and historical Monti quarter on the first floor of a distinguished 1900's building of Via Mecenate 59. The Colosseum, Roman Forum and Domus Aurea, that are literally a short walk from the front door of the building, will be the perfect starting point for any tour among the wonders of the eternal city, whether the guest decides to go on foot or by bus, or if he/she decides to use the handy underground (metropolitana) with its 'Vittorio Emanuele', “Cavour” or “Colosseo” stations, just 400 meters away. Adjacent to the building is the shopping area of Via Merulana.
