About Eleanor and Tom Bannigan
We’re Eleanor and Tom Bannigan! We are from Ireland and we’ve been living in France since 2005. We travelled to many regions of France on family holidays, but fell in love with the Vendée countryside, its culture and its people. Running the B&B, gîte and campground takes a lot of energy and hard work, but what makes it all worthwhile are the people we encounter along the way. We’d love to meet you too, so why not join us for a piece of our journey? Book your next holiday rental and accommodation in the Vendée, with us! Sincerely, The Bannigans

Lovely area, lovely accommodation. V safe
Lovely cottage and grounds. Very safe for children to roam with loads of animals to see. Accommodation itself was superb and kids were v impressed to have wifi!! Park area was great with a large trampoline. Only downside was that the pool was too cold to enjoy and could have done with being heated. Owners were lovely and very accommodating. Would recommend
A lovely winter at La Baudonniere
We stayed with Tom and Eleanor at La Baudonniere for months - over winter. I finished my first novel and published it from the cottage. The location was tranquil, and the cottage perfect for our needs. Our hosts were kind and caring and we quickly fell in love with the place and the family!
Très bon accueil, maison très agréable.
Louée pour une visite au puy du fou , cette maison est idéale. Loueur très sympa et site magnifique. Je recommande
Perfect cottage, excellent reception
We stayed in this cottage in august. The cottage has all the equipment you need and has a private garden. The owners are very friendly. On a rainy day they provided us all extra toys for our children, which was really nice.
The cottage is very well furnished. On arrived there was a small welcome package ready for us, which is reallly exactly what you need after a long travel. The pool was perfect and surrounded by deckchiares. On the property there are some animals (2 horses, 2 pigs, 3 chickens) which is realy nice for the children.
There a few villages nearby, as well as lake with a small beach. Keep in mind that this is less touristic and more rural part of the Vendee. Nevertheless there a some good restaurants within less than five minutes driving.
The Courtyard Cottage is located in the historic area of the Vendee 1 hour from the beautiful sandy beaches - Les Sables D'olonne known as 'mini Nice' - famous for sailing, in particular, the yacht race- The Vendee Globe and La Tranche sur Mer - the surfers paradise are considered to be the best in Europe.
The Grande Parc Puy du Fou is the largest outdoor show in the world just 20 minutes drive away.
A must see – Futuroscope – near Poitiers is a virtual reality Internet park and has an all around cinema where the pictures actually extend beneath you.
For smaller members of the family – visit Parc Pierre Brun in the Mervant forest or horse riding or maybe karting – (there are 11 circuits in the Vendee).
There are many châteaux in the region, but the two most important are the Château de la Guignardiere, a fine example of Renaissance architecture, and Château Tiffauges, built between the twelfth and sixteenth centuries and home to the infamous Bluebeard.
