Loca Activities: As mentioned before Le-Gro barn is a wonderful place to come and unwind, and chill out in spectacular surroundings. However there is plenty of activities locally for those adventurous guest. There is paint balling, quad trekking, golf, pony trekking, fishing, and ten pin bowling to name but a few.

There are also many wonderful places of interest to visit such as Powys Castle, Chirk Castel, Llangollen Canal, Lake Vyrnwy and Llanrhyder water falls that are close by. We are fortunate to have nature reserves near by that make fantastic country walks.

If you fancy a busy bustling day then a trip to Chester or Shrewsbury is well worth it. They have spectacular medieval buildings and many unique shops.

Ludlow Castle is a great day out and the restaurants and food fair are famous nationally.

There is a garage with a well stocked shop. There is also the Spar and post office which again you can buy your groceries from. There is also an Indian restaurant and takeaway as well as a fish and chip shop. In the next villages of Four Crosses and Llanymynech there are Chinese takeaways. Notes:
There is 1.5 miles of fishing at Le-gro Barns where you can enjoy fly or coarse fishing. The are two rivers the Tanat and the Vyrnwy. We have Salmon in the river along with Trout, Greyling, Tench and Barbel. We have the salmon run a short way up the river at the wyre in November time. This is a fantastic spectacle to watch. There is easy access to the river from the field and children can enjoy paddling or trying to catch a mino. The river is navigable and guest are welcome to bring their canoes' with them. We have an abundance or bird life and if you are very lucky you may get a glimpse of the otter.

The Powys borders run along side the spectacular Dyke which King Offa ordered to be constructed in the 8th century, probably to divide his Kingdom of Mercia from rival kingdoms in what is now Wales. The Trail explores the tranquil Marches (as the border region is known) and passes through the Brecon Beacons National Park on the spectacular Hatterall Ridge. In addition it links no less than three Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty – the Wye Valley, the Shropshire Hills and the Clwydian Hills.

Local towns:

1. Welshpool & Oswestry – about 15 – 20 minutes by car. Has a good range of supermarkets ( Tesco,Sainsburys, Morrisons, Somerfields, Iceland), all your high street favourites – Boots, WHSmith, plenty of cafes and coffee shops, and some specialist shops.

2. The nearby Medieval town of Shrewsbury and city Chester offering excellent shopping, cinemas and a race course.

Golf: Llanymynech golf club is visible from our property. Tee of in England and sink a putt in Wales.
