Spent a week in Lyon for the women’s World Cup finals with my wife and daughter. Great cozy apartment. Thoughtful appointed with nespresso machine and fan (no AC) and tableware to each in if you decide to forgo Lyon’s amazing restaurants. Guy is very friendly and attentive and made us feel welcome and was available if we had questions or needed help. He was very kind to print out our tickets for the soccer match on his home computer and when brought them when he met us at the apartment. Very clean. Elevator to 5th floor and just one flight of stairs to this charming apt in a quiet period building. Would not hesitate to return.
Adequate, with major issues
My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights in November. The apartment is adequate. The location is great, but...
My primary objection was out of control of the owner. In short, I question it's safety. The unit is on the 7th floor (US System of counting) of an older apartment building near downtown Lyon. There is a building fire alarm but I saw no Emergency Exits. The windows are on the side away from the street, over another lower building structure. I think it would be very difficult for an escape in the event of a fire. Although the building is largely concrete and not highly flammable, the central core/elevator shaft is completely open, ground to top. I imagine that a fire would use the open shaft as a chimney flue. And although there are not many combustibles in the stairway, I fear a fire starting in an apartment on a lower floor, and then racing up the stairwell. I don't know what city inspections are made. Maybe Lyon City has considered this risk. But I lost sleep at night thinking about this eventuality and would not stay here again.
Sorry for your perception ,but you have been in an apartment labeled and any conditions are requested about risk in france.
I know that you live in California and you are victimized of fire in you country.
In this context , I understand that you are afraid by this risk.
I record your remark and I will say with other owners about this problem.
For me , you are alone customer who are write a strong adress email on the website and difficulties to meet you in the station.
Lovely apartment in good neighbourhood
We stayed at Guy’s apartment earlier this month and would highly recommend it- hadn’t visited Lyon before and Guy assisted in providing recommendations and ideas of things to do. The apartment is well cared for and furnished, and has all the extras that make it easy- dishwashing liquids, cleaners, kitchen utensils etc. The washing machine was much appreciated as well! Small European style shower cubicle, but big bathroom by European standards, newly renovated. The location is close to shops and you’re able to walk across the bridge easily, metro close as well. The hosts are lovely and accommodating people, very kind and helpful- all the reviews mention their kindness and I can see why, just lovely people! The sofa was made up as a single bed for my son and was very comfortable. The apartment’s location was exactly what I wanted- away from the highly tourist-filled areas, but still very central, walkable, and easy to access any part of the city as well. We felt very safe there (although Lyon felt very safe as well) and it was a pleasure to stay at the apartment- I would definitely recommend and would stay there again! Thankyou Guy and Bernadette!
Good location, clean apartment, Super nice landlord - we had a great stay
Very quaint , French apartment with an elevator. Even got to know some neighbors across the street. Guy is a very personable landlord willing to help to resolve any problem. We had a problem with the "Wi Fi" and he fixed it. Had a great time.
Thank you very much for your apreciation .
I kept a good memory about my lunch in my home with you .
Always a pleasure to guest my customers when is possible.
Purhaps as soon in corvette...,
Clean, spacious apartment
We had a delightful stay in this clean, spacious, well equipped apartment. It had everything we needed including a tea kettle, dish washer, and washing machine. The bathroom and toilet were separate, and the bathroom part was larger than most in Europe. The apartment was on the top floor so it was light and airy. An elevator went to the 4th floor requiring a not too difficult walk up to the final flight.
Best of all, Guy was a gracious host first meeting us at the train station, then spending a lot of time telling us about the apartment and the very convenient neighborhood. The neighborhood was within walking distance of the old city and it's many attractions. Situated in the 6th arrondissment, there were many fine dining opportunities there. Never have we had such great care and attention, and think of Guy as a new friend. We hope to return one day to enjoy this beautiful city and apartment.
I'm glad that everything was perfect .
