Old School Cottage is a small, detached, stone cottage in the unspoilt Windrush Valley, a few miles from Burford. Go down the path to a pretty, secluded walled garden or unwind in the sitting room with the wood burning stove or settle down with a good book on one of the window seats.
Asthall is an ideal holiday location, being an idyllic secluded hamlet with a village pub and another inn on the river by Swinbrook, a ten-minute walk away by road or across the fields. Closer to the cottage in Asthall, just down the lane, is the historic Manor house and church. Asthall Manor was the childhood home of the Mitford sisters.
There are ample walks throughout the stunning surrounding areas, where you can take a break in a local village pub or admire the architecture in one of the many picturesque Cotswold villages and their beautiful churches.

The Slaughters and The Barringtons are two quintessential, quiet Cotswold villages nearby, with uninterrupted country views over the Windrush Valley and some pretty footpaths and bridle paths.
The increasingly popular 6 week Festival Opera in June and July held in the village of Longborough is well worth a trip.
For sports enthusiasts visit the world renowned Cheltenham racecourse or play a round at The Wychwood or Burford Golf Clubs.
Enjoy a day's punting on the river at Oxford admiring the spectacular architecture or visit the Royal Shakespeare Company at Stratford-upon-Avon no more than a 45 minute drive away.
