The property has been designed and built with large groups in mind. The large fully equipped open plan kitchen with large cooker and large fridge also means that self catering is fun and effortless. Cooked evening meals can be booked on request.

For anyone wanting to explore the local coastline by sea, Dolphin's Leap has its own private mooring below the house. The owner can arrange the use of a private motor boat during summer months (contact owner for details) or alternatively can arrange boat hire to meet more specific requirements. During the high season our 5 seat motor boat is included in the price.

About Pippa Dale-Harris

I run Dolphins Leap with my husband, Nick. In search of a plot by the sea we discovered this unique place in Pelion and together with the local craftsmen created our beautiful house by the water's edge. We finished the build in 2011 and are delighted that we have been able to achieve our dream which was to create something in perfect harmony with the environment and nature in a truly unspoilt and timeless part of beautiful Greece. Its really a magical spot very private but not isolated and surrounded by nature and forest and everything that is in harmony in this Mediterranean climate where lavender wild thyme and oregano abound. Timeless, effortless and beautiful. Many guests have enjoyed their summer holidays at Dolphins Leap and last year we built a yoga terrace in one of our olive groves just above the sea. Steps lead down to rocks below and the swimming there is very special. So another dream has been realised.

Pippa Dale-Harris purchased this villa in 2006

Why Pippa Dale-Harris chose South Pelion

This the perfect luxury escape for a group of friends, a large family or two or three families wishing to share. This villa has been designed and built with large groups in mind. The property is right next to a sandy beach, has a beautiful infinity pool, large open terraces and 7 large bedrooms. There is a beautiful yoga terrace hidden in the olive trees below the house from where steps lead down to the sea and rocks below providing the perfect spot to take an early morning or late evening dip in the Aegean sea. You will need to bring goggles and snorkels if you want to enjoy the crystal clear water. 10 minute walk from the house are the taverns in the village which all offer very reasonably priced and good quality food. If you are wanting to self cater then the large fully equipped kitchen with large smeg cooker and spacious fridge has everything. There is masses of outdoor space, outdoor furniture for relaxation is positioned around the property and sun beds are on the pool terrace and also on the yoga terrace. The beautiful terraces all have sea views. There is no need for transport here. Just walk to tavernas in the village or take the boat to neighbouring villages or amble along beautiful old coastal footpaths to neighbouring villages. This is a timeless unspoilt location on the sea. A sandy beach below the house, crystal clear water, more unspoilt sandy beaches and coves waiting to be discovered.

What makes this villa unique

Everything about the location is perfect for a private group gathering in an unspoilt location right on the sea. You can self cater in luxury, shops just literally at 10 minute drive away, walk to tavernas for lunch or choose to have a cooked evening meal at the house. Enjoy the breathtaking view from the Yoga terrace, a beautiful open stone terrace in a secluded spot, hidden by olive trees and just above the water's edge. From here you take the steps down to the rocks below and take a dip in the Aegean Sea. You'll wish you'd brought your goggles and snorkels although clarity of the water is so great at times that even those aren't needed. In general large open flagstone terraces surround the property from which breathtaking uninterrupted far reaching sea views can be enjoyed. These views are straight out to sea - an 180 uninterrupted seascape always changing and always in your vision. Only the very occasional yacht or motor boat will break the silence. It's not a wind surfing or water skiiers paradise as this area is for Greek people who choose to enjoy their vacations by swimming and relaxing. The infinity pool has plenty of sun loungers and is surrounded by a large stone sun terrace which merges with the hillside behind and the sea beyond. Using the skill and knowledge of the local craftsmen we have been able to create something really unique yet in keeping with the local architecture of the region. It has taken many years and a lot of patience to achieve this. It has certainly been worth the wait.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The villa is secluded and totally private but within 10 minutes walk of the village of Lefokastro with four tavernas. We were a party of two couples (ages45-55) with children and adult children with boyfriends - 10 of us in all. The main draw during the day was the use of the boat to get us to the other villages along the coast. Affissos to the north was great for the adult children with it's beach bars and buzzing beaches. We preferred next door Kalamos which was quiet and had a super sandy beach - our favourite taverna had parasols and deckchairs on the beach that went down to the sea and served the best souvlakia (lunch at 2.30 pm when the sun was at it's hottest was great). Further to the south, Milina offered an extensive range of restaurants on the promenade and had the best pitta Gyros (as voted by the kids). The feature of the holiday was boat with the dolphins in the bay. We spotted them three times from the villa and the kids raced down to the boat 'Baywatch' style to catch up with them. On one occasion there were around 20 in the pack with 2 babies jumping at the same time as their mother alongside the boat! Truly special! Dolphins are quite slow in the water so it's not difficult to catch up with them - don't forget a face mask as you can jump in and watch them underwater in the clear blue seas. The best place to find them are in the bays to the south of the villa where they appear to feed. You wont' see them often but need to be ready when you do! - we saw them 3 times in 10 days. The villa was at it's best in the afternoon using the infinity pool and watching the truly amazing sunsets. My wife and I are keen walkers and we loved the waymarked routes (called kalderimis) to Aragalasti (where we drove to do all of our supermaket shopping) and up the dry canyon to Efetes. Also the one hour beach path walk to Kalamos was a regular trip for us. Our only gripe was the 4 hour journey from Thessonoliki airport- thanks to BA we got to the villa late at 3am! The drive down into the property is steep but easily mastered -even with our I litre hired Corsa!

Truly fantastic holiday had by all!

Thank you!

great property for a large group

  • 4 of 5

the property was excellent and use of the boat added fun. It is quite a trek to the nearest taverna, especially through the rocky and in places steep path in the dark, as the expected access from the beach was blocked by a locked gate. Don't expect a lie in on cleaning days, which start before 8.30 (6.30 UK time) and in our case, announced by a cleaner walking through the bedroom carrying a mattress, whilst one of us was still in bed! And if that happens, don't expect an apology either. Fine if you're early risers but not a good start to two days from a one week stay.

All 14 of us ranging from toddler to pensioner enjoyed a fabulous week at this beautiful very well equipped house. The use of a motor boat to explore the pretty coastline was a reall added bonus. Would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for splendid comfort in a stunningly beautiful part of Greece

A family vacation we will never forget

  • 5 of 5

We travelled 14 people from Sweden to celebrate our parents turning 70. Our company consisted of 3 generations, the youngest kid is 5 years old.

We wanted a private, beautiful and comfortable place for our vacation and Dolphin's leap really exceeded our expectations. It is such a fantastic place! Absolutely beautifully located with a fantastic view. The house is clean, well equipped, spacious and luxurious. We really enjoyed the pool and the outside dining area, surrounded by the beautiful garden. It was perfect for lunch and sunset dinners.

Every day we either went to the nearby beach or went swimming from the cliffs. The beach was practically empty of people so we could play around freely! We took the boat out a couple of times and visited other nearby beaches.

The village of Lefokastro is small but felt very authentic greek, which we enjoyed. We tried all the three taverns and the beach bar. The food was simple but excellent!

Pippa and her husband were so kind and helpful. We had some trouble with the boat one time, and they immediately came to our help. Pippa was also very helpful with arranging a surprise dinner for our parents at one of the taverns.

This was without a doubt a dream vacation and we could not wish for a better place to stay. We highly recommend Dolphin's leap and hope to come back when our parents turn 80!

Stunning location with a pool, the sea and a boat!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment that I began communicating with Pippa, months before we holidayed at Dolphin's Leap, she was always helpful and prompt in her response to my many questions. The booking and information was as smooth as it could be. The star of our holiday was most definitely the full use of the boat! To be able to walk down the steps and cool down in the sea was also a highlight. Toula the housekeeper treated us to delicious evening meals which meant superb warm summer evenings relaxing at the villa. We also sampled nearby restaurants. We would love to return. Many thanks to Pippa and Nick for the opportunity to sample the delights that Dolphin's Leap blessed us with.

An amazing villa in the Greek sun

  • 5 of 5

Having been out to Dolphins Leap in the previous two years and loved the villa and all that went with it I had to book again but for a week with friends. The villa is in a beautiful setting with the sea glistening below and willing you in for a swim. The villa was so clean and fresh but also cool in the mid day when the sun is at its hottest. My friends absolutely loved the location and independently went for days out to tavernas locally, went swimming in the infinity pool (which was kept regularly clean and checked by the owners) and crystal clear really blue sea. Two of us loved snorkeling so spent mornings doing that. With 5 couples all independently minded we thoroughly enjoyed what the villa offered. We had hired cars in Thessaloniki so that we could see the local area which was absolutely stunning. So much so that I need to go back and see more and I have already booked the villa again for September 2017.

A stunning Grecian gem

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed twice at Dolphins Leap & are already booked to go again this year. It is definitely now a hugely anticipated annual treat. Dolphins Leap is a slice of Pelion perfection. Set on a hillside, the views are breathtaking and the minute you arrive there is a wonderful sense of peace & tranquility. The house is very spacious - cool, very comfortable & very well maintained. The nearest village is the perfect place to walk for the most delicious lunches/dinners. The locals are very friendly and charming. Reluctant to write a review as we want to keep it all to ourselves!!! It really is heaven on earth and we can't wait to return in September again.

If you are seeking a unique location with spectacular uninterrupted sea views from large open stone terraces (with unbelievable sunsets), an infinity pool, your own boat, direct access to the beach, crystal clear sea, and spacious luxurious accommodation then look no further. The property is west facing too so the sunsets are glorious. Tavernas in the village are in walking distance and there are excellent supermarkets, a 24 hour medical centre and shops just a 10 minute drive away. This is the perfect base for a wonderfully relaxing beach holiday in a villa which is very private and secluded but yet not isolated.

This is one of the last truly unspoilt parts of Greece, still off the beaten track as far as European tourists are concerned, but a popular destination for Greeks seeking peace and tranquility. In the spring and autumn Pelion is a popular destination for walkers, with a number of public footpaths running through the foothills and round the coastline. The villa provides direct access to a coastal footpath which provides a stunning setting for walks to Kalamos, Afissos and beyond. For sailors, the Pagasitic Gulf offers perfect sheltered anchorage for yachts, and a base to explore Pelion and the neighbouring Sporades islands, Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonyssos. Yachts can be chartered in Volos, and smaller boats (sailing or motor) can be hired nearby. Pelion is popular all the year round, with skiing in the winter on Mount Pelion - not alpine standard but with 4 runs and a ski-lift - all within 1 hours drive from the villa.

is one of the last truly unspoilt parts of Greece, still off the beaten track as far as European tourists are peace and tranquility.
