Puycardon sits on top of a small hill, with stunning 180 degree views of the overlooking the valley and the rolling hills below. Our location is very private, accessed down a private farmer's road, over 2 acres surrounded by sunflower and wheat fields, a small woods, and the amazing view. The property consists of the main house, a large 6x12 meter pool, and a cottage where we, the owners, live in the summer (we work, or we may be travelling when you are here, so we will not be in your way, but are around if you need us!) We also have a very friendly Jack Russell terrier who is always in our care.
**Please note that we are a smoke free property and house, for those with sensitivities! If you appreciate a house and property that has not had previous smokers staying, then you will be very happy here!
The main house is a quaint stone home, with a nice open plan inside. Large, fully equipped kitchen, open and spacious dining and living room with French doors opening onto the terrace overlooking the magnificent countryside. There is also a powder room, laundry room, and office on the first floor. Upstairs are the master bedroom with a small ensuite bathroom w/shower, and two additional good sized bedrooms (one with queen bed, the other with 2 twin beds) with shared family bathroom.
The nearest village is a 6 minute drive away, with all amenities. We are on the border of the Gers and the Tarn et Garonne departments. There are many quaint villages and nice restaurants within a 10-30 minute drive, including Auvillar, which is one of the "most beautiful villages in France". During the summertime, there are open air markets in a different village every morning, and lots of local festivities. While some might want to lounge by the pool all day, our countryside is great for biking (though there are some steep hills, but we are also a 15 minute drive to the canal bike paths, which could take you as far as Toulouse!), hiking, exploring the many beautiful villages, or use the house for a base for the many day trips, into the foothills of the Pyrenees, an hour drive to Toulouse, 1.5 hour drive to Bordeaux. While we are not in the 'wine country' per se, there are several good wineries within an hours drive, if you wanted to do some tasting in our region.
