The agriturismo le Selvole is the farm of the Marzoli family, in the southwest of Tuscany. It’s located close to the medieval villages Micciano and Libbiano and is surrounded by hills, vineyards and olive trees.
This is a relative unknown part of Tuscany, 25 kilometers south of the Etruscan city of Volterra. The country house is surrounded by a garden with a playground for children and a large lawn with a swimming pool. The Tuscan beaches are reachable for a day at the seaside.
The agriturismo is suitable for a quiet vacation, the location is panoramic, very peaceful and the acres and woods are a romantic scenario for a walk. The Marzoli’s are a nice and modest family, and the children of the guests like to help with the work on the farm. The two barbeques made of stone are used to have dinner in the long summer evenings. ‘La Mama’ of the Marzoli family is a great cook and you can ask her to prepare a typical Tuscan lunch or dinner.
The apartment Casa Girasole has two bedrooms. The apartment is suitable for six people, but there is only one bathroom available. In front of the entrance the apartment has an own terrace with a table and chairs.
The property is surrounded by 150 hectares of acres that belong to the family. On that ground they cultivate multiple types of grain. There’s an area of 4000 m2 reserved for olive oil production. Those are huge numbers and that makes a stay at le Selvole so special. First, these people are farmers. Renting the apartments is a secondary activity for them. You’re a real guest on the farm and the family is proud of their agricultural activities.
During a stay of a week it’s possible to explore different cities. The nearby Volterra and the coastline between Vada, Cecina and San Vincenzo is well reachable. You can combine a visit to Siena with San Gimignano, together this will take a whole day. A very long, but worthwhile trip, is het island of Elba, where Napoleon was banned.
