I purchased this home in January of 2006. I am from Detroit, currently living just outside of Cincinnati - It sounds a little crazy unless you've been to the Cape and Eastham in particular.
Cheryl McKettrick purchased this house in 2006
Eastham is beautiful, quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by water. I am the 2nd owner of this wonderful property. I bought it from a retiring local school teacher. No kidding. Of course, the Cape gives you access to bay beaches and ocean beaches. But Eastham has the entrance to the National Seashore! Eastham is also an easy point for day trips up or down the Cape to explore different cities. Eastham beaches are the best and with the most variety. Plus it is an easy jump point for exploring. I love it and you will too!
The house is quiet, private, and in the woods. The road out front is barely traveled. After a long day at the beach it is a respite to return to. Laying in bed at night with all the windows open and listening to the sound of the leaves gently rustle can make you feel a million miles away from real life. Here I really relax and recharge my soul. Enjoy an early morning bike ride or run. A full day on the beach. Drinks watching the sunset. Dinner on the back deck. And laying in bed listening to the wind blow. It's a simple life but isn't that what vacation is for?
This note came with the return of the keys. "Dear Jenn & Cheryl, Thank you for letting us use your house. It is very comfortable and cozy. When we come back to the cape we will certainly be in touch. Sincerely, Diane & Dan."
My husband and I rented this property for our Cape Cod vacation and were thrilled with our choice. We have stayed in Chatham the previous 3 years and wanted to try something new. We found we did more this year being so centrally located to both the bay and ocean beaches. The home was just perfect, clean and very well supplied.
We loved the privacy and the yard was beautiful.
We had a wonderful 2 week stay! The best part was that bikes were included and the house is so close to the bike path. We biked to the beach everyday with our 2 year old, either First Encounter or Nauset Light. We could take the Cape Cod Rail Trail and then connect to the Nauset Bike Trail to get to the National Seashore or just take the Rail Trail to Somerset Road and then it was a short ride to First Encounter. It was great to have the choice of the bayside or national seashore beaches without having to get in a car. The house was fully stocked and the backyard was private while at the same time we were only a 5 minute car ride away from the Orleans Stop & Shop. I recommend this house for a great Cape Cod vacation.
Location Location!! My husband and I had a great stay in a fantastic location, just a short drive to our favorite Nauset Beach. We took a short drive to Harwichport for a day trip to Nantucket. There are so many wonderful places to explore nearby and the house has everything you could need! We had a great stay. Thank you!
The house itself is in a calm and peaceful area. It allows for relaxation, comfort and time to catch up with family. It is clean and stocked with everything one could need for a weeks stay. I love the location of the house, private yet close to everything. The beach, drive in movie theater, restaurants, ice cream stands are all just minutes away.
We enjoyed eating pizza on coast guard beach, while watching seals swim and the sunset. We brought the living outdoors by putting an air mattress in the bed of a truck and watched a movie at Wellfleet Drive in Theater. I really can't say enough about the house and the time we spent there. We are looking forward to renting again next year!
I love this house. We didn't want to leave. Great for our kids and very close to beaches on the bayside...specifically First Encounter. The kids loved walking around the yard and playing outside on the deck. I am so happy that we found it. This listing was very accurate and the owners of the home were super helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend.
Very nice, comfortable, clean house. Location makes for easy to access the Bay or Ocean beaches. Also very convenient to Orleans for food shopping and other activities. Great communication with the owners throughout the rental process which made for an enjoyable experience. We recommend this rental property highly.
