About Mike and Julie Cook
Mike and Julie have lived at Cuckoo Springs for over 15 years. We are smallholders having escaped from teaching and IT. We have rare breed animals and 2 horses and try to be as self sufficient as possible. We converted our 18th century barn for holiday guests in 2009 and we work hard to ensure you have a memorable holiday .
Mike and Julie Cook purchased this Cottage in 2002
Why Mike and Julie Cook chose Beulah
We fell in love with the peaceful, magical location of this farm when we first saw it in January 2002. Then when we saw the beach at Penbryn we were hooked! The final decision to buy it was made February 3rd which just happened to be our wedding anniversary. Not many can say, my husband bought be a farm for an anniversary present! As you might guess I am an incurable romantic and we try to make your holiday special and romantic too.
What makes this Cottage unique
We are an active small holding with rare breed pigs, sheep, horses, chickens and a house cow. All of our animals are friendly and we encourage interaction with them (under supervision of course). Children of all ages can help feeding the animals, and older children and adults can be more involved if they if they wish. We allow our guests to enjoy our 5 acre wood and an adjoining 5 acre field with wild flowers including orchids and bluebells. The cottages offer a haven of peace and tranquillity in a secluded wooded valley and are just 4 miles from beautiful beaches and the Pembrokeshire/Ceredigion coast path.. There are a number of very good pubs and restaurants some by the sea and others in the countryside. The cottage has won a number of awards for customer satisfaction

Very special location, ideal to explore West Wales
Bluebell cottage is one of three cottages at this gorgeous, rural spot in West Wales. The standard of accommodation is very high - spotlessly clean and well equipped. The rainfall shower in the main ensuite is a welcome addition. Mike and Julie are wonderful hosts, providing a handy welcome pack with some essentials (Tescos also deliver if you place an order)! The walk through their woodland area is lovely as they point out the bluebells, snowdrops and orchids depending on the season. We have been coming back to the cottages for 10 years and our son has grown up helping on the farm with the animals - heading out each morning to muck out and feed the livestock. There is plenty to do in the area with unspoilt beaches and stunning walks along the coastal path. Lots of choices for places to eat. There are plenty of leaflets and guides in the cottage for suggestions of things to do. All in all a wonderful spot for a relaxing break however long or short. We will certainly be heading back.
Fabulous quiet rural getaway.
Lovely comfortable cottage with a big secure front garden. Fabulous cottage always maintained to the highest standard of cleanliness and comfort. Mike and Julie are very friendly, welcoming and helpful hosts. This was yet another return visit for us - we just can't stop coming back here. And I know we will again in future.
Ideally situated for the nearby coastal walks, we were very happy to light the log burner after a long days walk, and settle into a quiet, restful evening. Mike and Julie are perfect hosts - they are there if you need them, but never intrude. I can't wait to go again.
Thank you very much for your kind review of our cottage. We're looking forward to seeing you both again.

Our stay at Bluebell Cottage
we have been staying at the cottage for the last 6 years. The cottage is always warm and cosy with excellent facilities. The hosts Mike and Julie are always welcoming and nothing is ever too much trouble. We always look forward to our welcoming hamper which includes home made scones and jam and eggs from the farm. Our son enjoys spending time with the animals especially the pigs and horses and mike and Julie always take the time to show us any new additions on the farm. we have visited the cottage at different times of the year in the winter times we enjoy collecting the wood for the wood burner and in the summer we have had several BBQ on the from lawn. we always enjoy the surrounding areas including beaches and local attractions as there are so many to choose from. our favourite place to eat has got to be the Ship Inn in Tresaith which offers locally caught fish and homemade food. we are always happy to recommend staying at the cottage to our family and friends. Thank you very much from the Sheahans
This is the nicest property we have stayed in. Mike and Julie are always very welcoming and make us feel at home. The little touches really make it - tea and coffee available when we arrived, free wood for the burner - all much appreciated after a long drive.
We have been regular guests since 2003, and hope to keep returning in the future,
Thanks for your lovely comments. Hopefully we'll see you again this year.
We are near beautiful Cardigan Bay with it's coastal path where you can see dolphins, seals and seabirds
Our beaches are delightful featuring horse shoe shaped coves with rock pools and cliffs as well as long sandy stretches. The tiny sea side village of LLangranog is a must. The views from the cliffs here inspired Elgar to write some of his music and the views are truly magnificent
The wild and beautiful Preseli hills are near by where Welsh mountain ponies roam freely and there are many footpaths for walkers and an impressive iron age burial site with huge balanced stones.
There are many centres offering various water sports and dolphin watching and sea fishing boat trips are available from Newquay.
There are castles to visit and a wild life centre
where you may see otters and kingfishers if you are lucky.
