Lovely spacious barn in quiet, relaxed location. Bed very comfortable. Deep bath ideal for the taller person but a power shower would be a welcome improvement.
Hayloft in August
Accommodation rustic but very in keeping with the character of the hayloft. Spacious rooms with small but functional kitchen with all the mod cons. We had 3 young children on camp beds in main living area and this worked very well. Lovely spacious gardens and brilliant pool and trampoline. Great for access to the beautiful Dorset coast. Closest pub did amazing food. Maiden castle is a lovely walk right on doorstep.
A place in the English Heartland
Perfect week away with two teenagers and a dog to crash out and relax just 2.5 hours from London.
Warm comfortable, rustic accommodation with walled country house garden and nice little heated pool.
Owners are unintrusive and allow guests wander the lovely walled gardens, and makes for a relaxed stay.
Maiden castle is Dorset's best kept secret always a privilege to walk its ancient 3000 year old chalk ramparts.
Good wifi also!!
A delightful setting and peaceful environment. Access to the pool was the enduring highlight.
Excellent & well equipped. Hay Barn might need a little TLC - e.g. shaky outside stair rail, poor lighting in the bathroom, TV operation required some patience. The owners and their dogs made us very welcome - now our third visit. Advance notice of weddings during our stay would be appreciated.
Loverly location and setting state of property poor !!
The loft was a good size but unfortunately not very clean , not we'll maintained , needs deep clean , decorating and maintaining, as really Stay I area often and not up there standard to the price point charged out of season !! Positives host Communicated well , great setting and location sorry I could not give a good review as has great potential !!!
Fantastic!! Stay in August 2015
We had a great 5 days in the Hayloft with 5 children between us.....Richard and Marieke were very accommodating and the children had an absolute ball......safe environment for them to be "children" and explore. The gardens were beautiful and the pool a welcome addition. Good situate as near to most of the tourist attractions. The Hayloft is "rustic" but very comfortable and we all had such a great time we hope to return in 2016.
This quiet valley in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is located between Dorchester and Weymouth and therefore within easy reach of shops, restaurants museums and the numerous seaside activities available in and around Weymouth. The Abbotsbury Swannery and gardens are within easy reach as are many footpaths leading to the coast as well as the many remote beaches reached situated along the famous Jurassic Coastline which is a World Heritage Site. The properties are in the old farmyard and reached down a private road and therefore well away from traffic. Golf: Several Golf courses within a few miles in stunning scenery
