Great property and location
We really enjoyed our stay at Chalet Ingrid. The location for our summer time visit was superb. Walking distance to town, sports centre, shops and cafes one way and easy access to the river and bike trails the other. The Chalet was comfortable and well equipped. We have given it just four stars because some areas could have been cleaner., for example inside the cupboards and the outside terrace area. The upstairs bedrooms were comfortable and charming. We were disappointed that the rooms downstairs were not of the same standard. as the rest of the house. They would be fine for younger children or babies but the lack of natural light and only two small upper windows for the whole area, made the lower floor less attractive as a place to spend time.
Thanks for your review and I'm pleased you enjoyed your stay in Chamonix. The chalet is always immaculately cleaned before each stay so I have passed your feedback to my cleaners - in future please let me know if anything isn't perfect straight away and they will return to make it right immediately.
A lovely, warm and inviting home for our family ski holiday.
We were two families enjoying a ski holiday over half term - Feb 2019. We had a lovely stay in your warm and cosy Chalet. The kitchen is fully equipped which made our nights in easy to prepare food and enjoy the atmosphere. The bathrooms were clean and there was plenty of hot water for the 8 of us. The beds were comfortable and the views were spectacular. A nice walk into town allowed us all to have a drink or two and not worry about driving. We'd definitely consider staying here again.
Lovely chalet. With good access to ski areas and nordic skiing.
The chalet is within walking distance of town. Close at hand is interski for very convenient hire but ski set is also close and the staff are great.
The owners advice re transfer from Geneva was very helpful.
The. chalet was clean and peaceful.
Great chalet for extended family in perfect location
Very helpful and communicative owner, easy check in and lovely chalet a few minutes walk from town. Suited our family party of 8 perfectly.
Fantastic chalet in the perfect location
We stayed at Chalet Ingrid during July/August 2018 with a family of three and another couple. The chalet was nicely set back from the main road so was lovely and quiet, the location from the main town of Chamonix was perfect being close enough to walk in to but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the town. The Chalet had three nice bedrooms on the upper floor with a master bathroom servicing them, on the lower ground floor there was another large twin room that we used as a double with a shower room servicing this bedroom. The lower bedroom was beautifully cool and quiet at night and we loved this about the house, there was a nice kitchen and lounge area with a large dining table that we liked. The garden and decked area was perfect in the hot afternoons as there was plenty of shade from the surrounding trees with extra shade on the decking provided by the motorised awning. Keith the owner was very helpful before and during our visit and was happy to answer any issues or queries we had, he even managed to source for us some free travel tickets for the train that runs up and down the Cham valley. We have stayed in and around Chamonix for the last 15 years and this is our favourite chalet to date. If you have a family of between 4 and 8 This is a perfect chalet and location for a outdoor adventure holiday to the Alps.
All around great time
We came from Santa Barbara, California to Chamonix. After a broken train, a meandering bus ride, and quite a bit of rain, we arrived at the Chamonix train station around 10pm. If we did not have 163 kg of luggage on us, we probably would have walked to the house, but we opted for a taxi. Found the house and settled in with no problems. When we awoke the next day, we could not have been more impressed with the views out every window. Wow. Those Alps are steep and high and super close!
We did not have a car and thus walked just about everywhere. The house is a five minute walk to the bus stops up or down the valley. We skied Brevent, Flagere, LeTour and Courmayeur. Brevent is the closest to the house, but also the furthest away (it's a long walk with skis), LeTour had the best sun and snow (it was overcast/foggy most of the week), Flagere has great runs and views, and the kids liked Courmayeur the best.
The house is well equipped and everything worked. We ate in a couple of nights and the kitchen worked out fine. The grocery store is a long ten minute walk ;) and has everything you need. We loved Chamonix and will carry fond memories of our week there together.
The chalet is located very close to the centre of Chamonix (about 5 minutes walk to most places), meaning all the bars, restaurants and shops are very convenient. (Many other chalets in the Chamonix valley can be several miles from anywhere.) The chalet is also close to the train station and central bus stops, giving easy access to all the ski areas of Brevent, Flegere, Argentiere, Le Tour and Les Houches, as well as Courmayeur in Italy.
Golf: The Chamonix golf club is about 1 mile away - 5 minutes by car.
Chamonix Golf club 00 33 450 530 628.
Ski: Chamonix is one of the best ski areas in the world. Almost all the resorts are separate so you can ski a different one each day. The main resorts in the valley are: Brevant, Flegere, Argentiere (also known as Grands Montet), Le Tour, and Les Houches. Courmayeur in Italy is a 25 minute bus or car journey through the Mont Blanc tunnel. Also within a 45 minute drive are the resorts of Flaine and Megeve, and even Verbier is just over 1 hour's drive if the mountain pass is open.
