Property type house

About the property

Set in a peaceful location, yet only a short drive from both Ripley, Harrogate, Ripon and Pateley Bridge. This is a great base for exploring North Yorkshire.

Peacefully located adjacent to the owner’s farmhouse, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, amidst the stunning countryside of Nidderdale, this delightful holiday cottage has been lovingly converted to provide a very comfortable and cosy base from which to explore the surrounding area. The wing of a larger property, the cottage’s ground floor is open plan and stylish with a contemporary kitchen, and the spacious first floor bedroom, with super kingsize bed, has an en-suite with a large walk-in shower. The outdoor seating area is perfect for enjoying your morning cuppa or evening glass of wine.

There are an abundance of walking and cycling trails from the doorstep. The village of Birstwith is close by, and has a well-stocked village shop and a country inn serving both traditional pub classics and a la carte dishes. Days out can be enjoyed at the World Heritage Site of Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden, with its atmospheric ruins and deer park, or a fascinating collection of rock formations can be found at Brimham Rocks.

Visit the elegant spa town of Harrogate, 7 miles, and enjoy afternoon tea at famous Betty’s Tearooms, or step back in time at Ripley Castle in the heart of the quintessential village of Ripley, 5 miles. The bustling market towns of Pateley Bridge and Skipton are within a short drive, and The Yorkshire Dales National Park is close by, which encompasses the Bolton Abbey estate, alongside moors, valleys, hills and quaint villages, including Grassington and Burnsall. Absolutely perfect!

(From a young couple ) Unfortunately I had only booked one night at this cottage, we wish we could have stayed for longer!! The bed is HUGE! Huge bedroom as well! The whole cottage is decorated beautifully ! Extremely clean and well presented. We were fortunate enough to stay when it was snowing so the surroundings looked beautiful. Not too far from Harrogate and small villages close by for food shopping etc. Was lovely to wake up and look out the window at lots countryside and ponies in the field opposite. Big tv with access to Netflix which was an added bonus! Only saw the owners in passing but seemed lovely and very friendly/useful through email. Can’t fault anything about this property at all . Will 100% be returning, hopefully for longer this time!!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the lovely review. It is a lovely area - the snow being an added bonus!! Hopefully there will be foals in the field from mid April, they are always stunning to sit and watch with drink. Helen B
