I´m an architect working and living in Lisbon. I love Lisbon!
Filipe Rodrigues purchased this apartment in 2008
This apartment use to be where I live when I was studing architecture. After this, the apartment was my architecture studio. Now I share it with people that want to meet Lisbon just as it is. In the neighborhood of Graça you can have the real feeling of Lisbon, not only because of the place it self but also because of the people.
Taste of Lisbon in Graça: views, local attractions, people and walking distance to main attractions of Lisbon. If you come with children and want to have a break in Lisbon there is a friendly neighbour (M. Inês) that can take care of them just as she does with her grand children.
Spacious, stylish and immaculately maintained/clean apartment, in a great location in the Graca area, directly overlooking central Lisbon, but close enough to walk everywhere. Plenty of restaurants where locals eat just around the corner. A 5-min walk to the more 'happening' (but also more touristy...) Alfama area. Filipe (owner) and Mrs Ines (housekeeper) could not be nicer or more helpful. On the raised ground floor (only a few steps up) so ideal for the less mobile. The great views from the back of the apartment are because the ground slopes steeply away behind the house i.e. you are on the ground floor, but it's like being on the 4th floor! No hesitation whatsoever in recommending.
Very comfortable apartment. The view is amazing. Walking distance to most sites and easy access to the metro. Felipe was very helpful. Mrs Ines was very welcoming. One minor annoyance was the shower; it is awkward to use.
The apartment was well furnished, a bit on the funky side but very comfortable, it had everything we needed. It is close to public transport, grocery, restaurants, and for walkers it's a good easy walk to downtown. Filipe was very accommodating even when we missed our flight and arrived 8 hours later. We would definately return.
The apartment was exactly has we envisioned from the pictures – lovely. It stayed cool during the days and its position on the hill allowed for a very comfortable breeze at night. Phillipe was excellent at communicating before, during (if needed) and after the trip – to ensure all were satisfied. The amenities and location were both stellar. This is not a criticism but future renters should note that whereas there are many fantastic sites, views, shops and restaurants all around the apartment - which should be explored - it will require a short (and very cheap) cab or trolley ride to get to most other neighborhoods, including the popular Principe Real and Barrio Alto (unless you’re a power walker or runner.) This was NOT a problem for us but if you haven’t been to Lisbon before and are only looking at a flat map, it won’t necessarily indicate that the city is not as manageable on foot as one might think, given the many hills and hot weather. Staying outside of the busier neighborhoods was what we wanted, as it forced us to explore a much worthy area of the city that otherwise we might not have. Again, we loved everything about the apartment, its location, and the communication that went into our stay. This great value helped make for a great trip.
Felipe's apartment was perfect for our family of three. It is beautifully furnished and decorated. It's high above the city and close to wonderful scenic views. We walked to many of the sites we wanted to visit and took taxis or tuk-tuks coming back at night. There is a colorful mural on the side of the building and we enjoyed seeing it from various places around the city. The apartment is about two blocks from a street that has lots of shops, some restaurants and a trolley stop. Felipe emailed us a list of recommended cafes and restaurants. It was our first visit to Lisboa and we loved the city and the apartment. We would definitely stay there again.
Yes, the picture that you see actually is the view out your back window. The apartment is very spacious with room for everything. The location is ideal. It is easy to get to everywhere in Lisbon. We mostly took public transportation, although because taxis were so inexpensive we took more than normal. The apartment is located in a wonderful neighborhood without many tourists. There were great restaurants and services close by so your could have spent the entire time there rather than explore the rest of Lisbon.
Felipe, the owner was very accommodating. While he did not meet us at the apartment...his fabulous housekeeper did....he called a couple of times to see if there was anything that we needed to make our stay better. He even gave us some hits about Porto as we traveled on. I would definitely recommend this to others and would stay there again should I get back to Portugal.
Located between the most famous sights of the city this apartment is a real screen over Lisbon and the Tagus river. Situated in the old town centre in the quiet area of 'Graça', it´s just 150 meters from the 'Senhora do Monte' (city´s highest Belverdere), 300m from the tram stop (famous 'Electrico 28') which provides a historical walk through the hills of Lisbon and 400m from the subway station. The popular neighbourhood of 'Graça' is two steps from the famous market 'Feira da Ladra', the 'São Jorge' Castle, the Monastery of 'São Vincente' and the 'Baixa Pombalina'. 'Graça' is known for its people, by the succession of viewpoints over the city and river, terraces, narrow streets, stairs, shops, traditional restaurants and 'Fado' houses ... If you prefer the comfort of the apartment you will find the 'Forno do Tijolo' market 's within 200m to prepare meals with fresh products from the region.
The rates are for 2 people. Cost of 12.5€ night/person
