We could not find a better place for our vacation.

PERFECT PLACE FOR A WORKING HOLIDAY

We stayed at Cristina's flat in December 2016 (for a holiday) and returned in Feb 2017 to see if we could work from Las Palmas and get away from the cold UK winter for a few weeks. And it was perfect. There's a great internet connection so you can work online and make Skype and Whatsapp calls. The table you see in the photos also makes a great office. Because when you sit at it with your laptop, the view from the 'office' is of people walking up and down the promenade, exercising on the beach and going for their daily early morning swim. Interestingly, the view is better in February because the Christmas tree and Navity sculptures have gone. Location-wise, it's ideal because everything's on your doorstep: the chemist, the supermarket, all the beach sport lessons you could want (paddle boarding, volleyball, yoga, etc) plus cafes, restaurants and bars. So we had a lovely time: worked in the morning, walked along the promenade at lunchtime and enjoyed sunset cocktails at 6pm. All in all, a perfect working holiday.

Superb!

This is a superb flat. You could sleep five - because there's a sofa bed, an extra guest bathroom and a small bedroom with a single bed - but there were just two of us and it felt very luxurious. We had our ensuite bathroom and used the small bedroom as our walk-in dressing room. It's within a block of a Dino supermarket and a covered market (which comes alive with tapas bars on Friday nights); the beach is on your doorstep and you're surrounded by cafes, bars and restaurants. It's stylish (Cristina is an artist) and really well equipped. There's everything from clingfilm and aluminium foil, to make-up mirrors, hairdryers (one in each bathroom) and shopping bags. Plus every pot and pan you'd need, blitzers, juicers, etc. From the balcony you can watch the world go by (runners, children on their way to school, elderly couples doing their daily walk, business men and women walking to meetings, etc) and listen to the street buskers (who are very good). As the flat is on the first floor there are two things to be aware of: the palm trees block the view of the sea slightly (you can see the sea but you don't get a big 'vista') and everyone can see you (but you soon get used to that). The beach chairs could do with replacing but as you can hire two beach chairs for 5 euros, we did that instead. All in all, we loved it and we're looking forward to going back in February.

Good location and Great View

An execellently sited apartment. The location is brilliant for restaurants, the beach and the rest of Gran Canaria with the main motorway only a minute away behind the apartments. The beach is 100m and the view along the north coast is impressive. Well equipped and comfortable. We had a really good week despite the weather across the island as Las Palmas has a micro climate and misses much of the bad weather in the interior and the south. Buses into town are 100m walk away. The owner organised car parking for us at a reasonable cost and close by.

Clean, spacious, thoughtful extras!

The apartment looks right onto the beach where we spent every morning - bliss! It was clean, and clearly Cristina has supplied the flat with care - extensive kitchen facilities, games, books & beach chairs - everything you might want. She'd also left some welcome supplies in the fridge and on the kitchen table for us - a very happy sight after a late flight. We have a toddler, and she had laid out a travel cot, highchair, and a host of other toddler-friendly things. I've rarely seen a holiday home so well provisioned, I couldn't tell you a thing that we felt was lacking. The wi-fi was good. It doesn't work in the bedrooms - some people will think that's either a good thing or a bad thing - personally I think it's a good thing.

Cristina had arranged someone to pick us up from the airport, but with only a week to go, we decided to hire a car from the airport instead. Cristina was very accommodating, and even arranged a week's parking in a nearby carpark for us. Before our holiday, she sent lots of emails with local information and making sure that everything was arranged smoothly.

Right outside the apartment is the beach, which has a great little playpark in it for little ones. The beach is gorgeous - smooth clean sand, and it's swept every day. There are several restaurants to the south which are for tourists, and to the north, there are a couple which are supposed to serve better, more authentic food, but we didn't get to try them, as the Spanish custom of opening at 8pm clashed with our toddler's need for a 5pm dinner! A supermarket is round the corner, and some kind of medical centre is a few doors down.

We had a wonderful time in Las Palmas, and would recommend to anyone.

Wonderful location

The apartment is exactly as advertised, modern, spotlessly clean and well equipped. There is loads of storage space in both bedrooms and the only slight critisism is that the second bedroom is very small and windowless. The location is perfect, it was lovely to sit on the balcony and watch the world go by or wander to the market (superb tapas), shops and restaurants. We were unlucky with the weather but still had a lovely holiday. Thank you Cristina and Gorge.
