Tamas Korchmaros purchased this apartment in 2011
This apartment is perfect for a romantic time in Budapest. The apartment has a balcony overlooking the Opera House, a fireplace for a great evening in and the location is great to explore the city. The apartment was recently refurbished, so everything looks like brand new, it is modern, but the high ceilings give the extra character which you would expect from a historic building in the centre of Budapest.
Location, location, location... newly refurbished, beautiful high ceiling, balcony with views, free WiFi, luxury and modern interior
Tamas and Eva were simply fantastic. The apartment is exactly as featured in the photos and description at Apartments in Budapest. Unfortunately I arrived in Budapest ill from an intestinal disorder. I was in need of medical care. Tamas and Eva jumped into action and arranged a taxi (at their expense) to take me to a medical hospital where Tamas' father is a doctor. Tamas rode with us to the hospital and got us right into the facility where his father met us and arranged to see an English speaking doctor. To us, this was over and beyond anyone's expectations, but it does speak to the character of the people behind Apartments in Budapest. It would have been a medical nightmare without their total involvement. These people are special...the type you would leave your children with!
Great central location. Good for public transportation, good local restaraunts. Beautifully appointed apartment with everything we needed. Small grocery and wine store just down the street. Tamas assisted with tickets to local attractions and set up transportation to and from the airport for us. Great experience.....highly recommended!
Very central location, metres to the Opera metro station. Short walk to the Jewish quarter and Lizst Square with great "ruined pubs" and restaurants. Tamas met us on arrival and provided an excellent orientation to the apartment. ( His office is just around the corner from the apartment so he is easily accessible if needed.) The apartment is very comfortable and well appointed. The only downside is that on one of the nights of our five night stay there was a lot of noise in the street below the apartment until midnight while props and scenery from the opera were being removed in a truck. That said, we listened to wonderful music and singing on other occasions as rehearsals and performances occurred. Highly recommended!
Position behind the Opera House perfect. A very good grocery store a few minutes walk away.
We were met on arrival by the promised transport (we think it was an Uber ride as baby seat still in back of car).
Tamas was not the person who met us and although helpful the girl did not know how the appliances worked. We did finally figure them out. There was a suggestion to read the manual but they were not all there. Also we never really figure out the heating but survived anyway.
Wi-fi was great.
A suggestion for the owner: check the cleanliness of the cutlery in the drawer. Also only one mug although plenty of cups we North Americans like our mugs!
Overall we would stay there again if we return to Budapest. Our suggestion would be that the person who meets the guests should be fully conversant with all the aspects of the apartment.
This truly was a Gem! This apartment is fantastically located and had everything one needs for a great stay. It is very clean and well appointed. Tamas, could not have been more helpful, he was on the spot for our meet up and explained everything to us. The apartment has good nearby local restaurants and is just steps from the Metro. Budapests best kept secret!
My husband and I stayed at this apartment for 2 weeks In October 2015. Inside the apartment, there's everything that we needed - well-equipped small kitchen, washing machine, good-sized shower, lots of hot water, comfortable beds with nice bedding, wifi, a TV that we never used because in Budapest who has time for TV?!! Outside the apartment, the great city is at your doorstep. A few steps from the opera (the balcony overlooks the back of the opera, and lots of interesting rehearsal noises floating out the windows during the day), great restaurants and bars at the corner, just a few paces to the metro, a couple of short blocks to the Jewish Quarter with its great food and street life, and easy walk to the Danube. The owner promptly replies to any queries. You can't go wrong here, and we didn't!
This is a great place to stay for a couple. Service was very attentive, apartment is very clean with everything you need for a few days stay. Modern appliances in the kitchen and bathroom, comfy beds with nice linens. The location is perfect, within walking distance to almost everything, with lots of places to eat nearby.
Thank you Tamas for your attentive service, much appreciated!
Lazar street is a small pedestrian street right behind the beautiful Opera House. It is walking distance from the famous Andrassy Avenue with its shops, restaurants and cafes. The underground is also walking distance and there are many shops close by for your day-to-day supplies. Most of the tourist sights can also be reached on foot.
