Home away from home

We simply loved the farm. Juan is just an amazing host. We spent two great weeks at his farm and we have been planning to come back while still there. The house is very comfortable with its three bedrooms and two bathrooms, large living area, well equipped kitchen and beautiful garden and outside seating. Nearby town was very well accessible by a short walk through the countryside and the coast by a short drive through the mountains with amazing vistas. We will definitely be back!

A lovely place to stay

My partner and I, and two toddlers, stayed here for two weeks in September/October 2011.

The owner, Juan, is very helpful in terms of organising the stay, and his relative, Ana Maria, who is on hand close to the property, is very kind and helpful.

The house is beautiful and nicely situated for getting some space, but very near Alhaurin (10 min walk / 5 min drive) and also only about 30 mins drive from the beach if you get cabin fever.

The interior is well designed, and has a big open downstairs space, and the upstairs bedroom / en-suite is massive. The orchard of Orange Trees on every side of the house is sufficiently large that you have total privacy.

We would very much consider going back as it's great to find a house that is not at all naff (naffness in design and aesthetics seems to rue in Spain!) in such a perfect spacious location.

You are just a few mins drive from the hills above the house, too, where you can walk untroubled through the Corsican pines.

A very relaxing place with a very pleasant landlord

Thanks Juan for a very relaxing and pleasant holiday in Alhaurín el Grande. The place is great and helped us having a great holiday. The kids enjoyed the pool very much, the house is very spaceous and all you need is there.

Frankly, we were a bit surprised that paper shall not be thrown in the toilet, but even restaurants in the region asked for it. Though unusual for us we simply had to get used to it. Why do I mention it? Because it is unusual, but it did not stop us from having a great holiday.

Alhaurín el Grande is very nicely located, about 20 minutes away from the busy beaches and offers the tranquility you like to have to recover from an eventful day.

Thanks very much again to Juan, our wonderful host, and thanks for the juicy oranges, they were delicious!

I am travelling on business and can enjoy the luxory of 5 stars hotels. Juan's place is not of that standard but the perfect spot to recover from work and a busy life. We slowed down and had a wonderful time. I can just recommend everyone to be Juan's guest.

The perfect house to relax

We looked for a place to get away from the hectic working routine and to relax in a lovely green garden - and we found it in Alhaurin el Grande! What a perfect place! Surrounded by orangetrees we enjoyed the privateness of the house but at the same time the short distance to the village where you can find everything from butchers and bakerys to supermarkets and restarants. Driving from Malaga airport is easy and quick, citys like Malaga or Marbella can be visited in no time and even a daytrip to Granada is possible. Juan was a very nice host! We felt at home right away. I already miss the freshly picked pomegranates from the garden and the sounds of the may different bird species - we will come back for sure. Only if you react allergic to mosquito bites, you have to think about when to open the windows, as there are no nets in front of the windows. Otherwise the relaxation in the garden or the refreshing pool can't be better.

Heerlijk Spaans huis

Grote woning, genoeg zitplaatsen lekkere bedden , mooie tuin met zwembad. Schone badkamers. Minpuntje is alleen het keukenmateriaal zoals houten snijplank, moet van kunstig of glas zijn , en de oven die flink verouderd en niet schoon te krijgen is.verder een hele aardige eigenaar die erg behulpzaam en vriendelijk is. Wij hebben een heerlijke vakantie gehad.
