We absolutely loved staying at Bear Sanctuary! It was everything we needed and wanted! Quiet and beautiful! Thank you for letting us have a very happy family get together! Beautiful home!
Amazing and can't wait to come back!
The cabin was great for our 3 generation family! We enjoyed seeing different bears everyday at the cabin for the week we were there. The cabin was very clean and well equipped with everything you would need from pots and pans to laundry detergent. We have stayed at 10 different cabins over the last year's and this was by far the nicest and cleanest. There are 3 decks off the back. The upper deck off the main level with several wooden rockers and an ice chest for drinks. Another deck off the bottom floor of the cabin with chairs and stairs down to the 3rd deck where the hot tub and table are located. The hot tub is newer and had different colored lights which the kids loved. Inside the cabin the bedroom on the first floor is very large and has a great bathroom. We were traveling with my parents who are in their 70s so flat parking and a bedroom on the main level were important to us. The bathroom in the main level bedroom has a huge walk in shower and David even arranged for a shower chair for my parents. Gwen texted us to check on us during our stay and let us know the bears were out while she was cleaning a nearby cabin which we appreciated. She also made wonderful recommendations for food. All the appliances are higher end and not your typical apartment size. We were coming back the day before school started for our kids so it was great to have full size washer and dryer to take all clean clothes home. We stayed on the bottom level where the washer and dryer was which made it easy for me to put a load in first thing in morning. The cabin is about a 5 min drive from downtown Gatlinburg and the road was steep at places but parking is completely level at the cabin. I just wouldn't try it in winter. The cabin is close to bypass and River Rd so you can avoid main rd and traffic. We did go to the pool one day and it was close to cabin. Had several different depths for children of all ages and abilities. The pool was crowded the day we went but it was August and we had access to two other pools. The cabin was also decorated beautifully with period pieces from when the original log structure would have been built. You can tell the cabin had a lot of thought and extras put into it. I really can't say enough great things about this cabin we will definitely stay here in the future. Gwen and David both were great to work with!
Excellent property. Clean and beautiful
Everything was wonderful at this property. Exceptional quality. Beautiful, clean, everything supplied that you would need for your vacation stay. Also saw bears playing in the woods out back of the unit. Very relaxing, no worries vacation! Will definitely visit this property in the future.
We stayed at Bear Sanctuary for a summer family vacation. We had 3 families. The owner was very willing to talk with us prior to booking to help us decide if this was the right cabin for our needs. This cabin is exactly like the pictures. Beautifully and recently remodeled. We found things very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. One great benefit is the level driveway and parking. Each family could have their own space if desired or gather together. I would not hesitate to recommend this cabin! We were more than satisfied!
Bear Sanctuary is extremely clean, convenient to Gatlinburg∥k. Floor plan is ideal for lrg groups
The owner and property manager are extremely nice people who are readily available. I cannot say enough times how clean this cabin is, I felt at home with all my needs meet ( lots of towels, kitchen utensils, and clean linens. The cabin has a new hot tub, games to play, card table and pool table.
All I can say is this... if you leave here not happy it's more than likely you own inability to have fun.
I had planned my vacation and then had an accident and severely damaged my foot ( 3 broken bones, 2 fractures, 2 dislocated joints and torn ligaments). I seriously considered canceling my trip, but took a gamble and after having surgery came anyway with family. Best vacation. I couldn't do a lot of the original activities I was hoping to do, but I did more than I expected. I enjoyed everyday. I saw a black bear the day everyone went zip lining and I stayed at the cabin. I also was able to get to the top of Clingmans dome and down on crutches.
We took the kids to slippery rock, drive through cades cove and did some gem mining.
This is the first time I can say I was more than pleased with my stay with a rental property! I will be back again and will recommend it to family and friends.
Many thanks to David and Gwen!!!
Great Place to Stay
The Bear Sanctuary is a beautiful cabin with everything one could need to make a great vacation. The cabin was spotless and well-stocked with anything you could need to cook, relax, or rest. It is a short drive to downtown Gatlinburg and the sights. The flat parking area was especially nice and the front porch rockers and swings are very relaxing. It will accommodate a large group comfortably with areas that the kids can escape to while the adults have their own areas. We will definitely consider this cabin for another stay.
Bear Sanctuary is close (5 minutes) to shopping and all Gatlinburg attractions and the Smokey Mountain Park. Pigeon Forge attractions and Dollywood in just 10 minutes away. Baby sitting can be arranged for an additional fee. Flat Driveway - 6 Car Lighted Parking.
