We spent only a week in this beautiful location. House and garden were in perfect condition, and the sea was still warm enough to swim.
Simply impeccable, coastal Tuscany at its best!
This is a fabulous place to stay for a week. But it is undersold! In that if you are
flying from the UK it has so many advantages over other places. Fabriccio (who is charming!) provides towels, beach towels, shower gels and hair-dryers; all the things that are such a pain to otherwise bring via the low cost airlines. Also, the pictures are accurate, it really is a beautiful as it appears and is as close to the sea. But there is so much more; it faces West so the garden gets the sun from midday and then the stunning sunsets. The gardens themselves are terraced and impeccably kept. For families of almost any age this is a wonderful place to spend a week!
Thank you Tom for your wonderful review, happy to know that you had a good time and hope you will come back like most of our guests do. I am also happy to know that you appreciated the attenction that we pay in little things, that seems nothing but is what makes a place your home.
The villa is located next to the sea within the district of Cala Piccola, a few meters from the beach only available to members of the district and their guests, with bar and restaurant by the sea in a bay of incomparable beauty of the promontory of Monte Argentario exposed to the island of Giglio. Also in 2017, the beach of Cala Piccola has won the prestigious award of the BLUE FLAG, given by the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education) to the European coastal resorts that meet the highest quality criteria for bathing water parameters and service offered. Monte Argentario, in ancient times an island, is a promontory that juts out from Tuscany coast into the Tyrrhenian Sea and is joined to the mainland by two strips of land, the Tombolo of Giannella and Tombolo of Feniglia, who joined the island to the mainland, forming at the same time the Orbetello lagoon. Monte Argentario reaches the highest point at Punta Telegraph ( 635 m) and is characterized by a hilly area with terraces where vines and olive trees are grown mainly . The highly indented coastline, including beaches and coves, rocky predominantly of great beauty from the point of view of nature is part of the whale sanctuary established in 1991 as a marine protected natural area of international interest. In the surroundings there are the towns of Porto Santo Stefano, Porto Ercole and Orbetello, tourist resorts of international renown, where you can find restaurants, bars, boutiques and nightclubs. Numerous testimonies of Spanish dominance between 1500 and 1700 with Forte Stella and Forte Filippo in Porto Ercole and Spanish Fort in Porto Santo Stefano. From Porto Santo Stefano with comfortable ferries you can get to Giglio island and Giannutri island. In the surrounding area of great interest is the Natural Dune Reserve Fenglia near Porto Ercole which preserves the ecosystem of the dunas that borders the lagoon to the south; you can visite the place by bicycle and see inside living freely different specimens of deer.
