About the property

Cosy, airy apartment, spectacular views down to the village of St Jean D'Aulps

Our apartment looks out to the village of St. Jean D' Aulps, a typical Haut-Savoyard village and across the Drouzin valley. It has has a traditional, cosy atmosphere inside and makes an ideal base for skiing, cycling, climbing or walking holidays. The resorts main attraction is its 20km forest circuit, with the chance to slalom between the trees, offering a unique adventure. St. Jean is linked by free shuttle bus to the rest of the Portes du Soleil.

In summer, the cable car takes walkers and mountain-bikers to 1500m, where they can make the most of unspoilt routes amid the foothills of the Roc d'Enfer, with panoramas of Mont Blanc and the Dents du Midi.

Well worth a detour, the typical Alpine hamlet in Graydon Alpage is surrounded by a breathtaking ring of peaks.

There are many walks and hikes for all levels to do here and in the vicinity.

Saint Jean d'Aulps also has a rich cultural past thanks to Aulps Abbey, an 11th century Cistercian abbey, and its Vallée d'Aulps Discovery Centre, located in the converted monastic farm.

The double height ceilings in the living area give a spacious. airy feeling. There is a fully equipped kitchen, with an electric 4 ring hob and an electric grill / oven.

The living area houses a TV + DVD player and an iPod dock, with cards and board games to entertain you in the evening.

There is a double bedroom with ensuite toilet and washbasin, and wardrobe upstairs and a mountain corner with bunk beds and large under bed drawer for storage downstairs. The living area houses the sofa bed and dining table giving gorgeous views across the vally and to the mountains beyond. A bathroom with an over bath shower bathroom and a separate downstairs toilet.

Outside there is ample free parking. Access is by lift or stairs. Bed linen can be supplied if required for an extra charge please ask when booking.

It is an ideal place to recharge your batteries far from the busy slopes of the larger resorts.The village has 2 restaurants, 3 bars, 4 ski shops + a supermarket which you can order your morning croissants and bagguettes from, all less within 50m away.

Larger resorts of Morzine, Avoriaz, Les Gets are 15 mins drive with direct access to Switzerland.

You will love the peace and tranquillity enjoyed by staying here, we thought we'd stay for four or five years and fourteen years later we are still enjoying it! There is so much to do whether you visit in the summer or winter, please feel free to call with any questions.

We bought our apartment when our children were 4,7 & 10 and we've skied there very year since, they are now 18, 21 and 25 and we are still enjoying!

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2003
