About Françoise

Moji and I (Françoise) have bought this ruin in 1997, we were leaving at that time in Iran and due to the situation there we decided to have someplace as a refuge in France , since I was born near Albi we found a ruin which inspired us in the beautiful country side of Cordes . However since we lived in the Middle East until 1997 and it is only when we decided to retire in France that from 1995 to 1999 we restored the property aided of course by our still skilled masons lovers of old stones . From 2001 to 2002 Moji restored the end of the building which had a magnificant terrasse and he made a very cosy nest to receive our friends and family , but later on having transformed an old garage into a guest room we decided to rent our nest as a holiday gîte giving us an opportunity to meet and exchange with people or to preverve their privacy and just be there to help if they wish

Françoise purchased this house in 1997

Why Françoise chose Tarn

After seeing tens of properties during my holidays in 1997 more or less in good state or beautiful I fell in love with a half ruined building and I had to fight very hard to convinced Moji or my family that this is it , now everybody is convinced , although it cost us money and hard labor we have now the pleasure to live in a large and comfortable home and in a very beautiful area which I appreciate more now than when I was ten years old and Cordes was the one day family outing in Summer.

What makes this house unique

At first I understood all the misgivings of my entourage but in my mind I knew what we could do with the house and now the terrasse is such a peaceful retreat with its beautiful view nested in greenery and unless we have guest in the gîte everybody runs to it as soon as they arrive .

A very peaceful and beautiful spot for a quiet and relaxing holiday.

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the sun drenched terrace admiring the view, and our hosts' generous hospitality and friendliness. The surrounding area is full of historical interest and there are plenty of walks too. The barn was very well-equipped and very comfortable.

A Memorable 10 Days

  • 5 of 5

We had a very happy and enjoyable 10 days living in the restored barn " Les Terrasse "surrounded by by a beautiful and peaceful landscape.

Les Terrasse was as listed and photographed ,but in reality it was better with a beautiful garden and trees.

The gite was spotlessly clean with every conceivable amenity and Francoise and Moji provided provisions sufficient to assist us in the immediate instant.

Les Terrasse surpurb with excellent outdoor furniture and a Weber gas BQ.

A car is necessary to explore the surrounding landscape with interesting and varied towns and villages ,Their markets offering local produce, arts and restaurants that specialize in traditional cuisine.

Francoise and Moji are a delightful couple and could not have been more helpful.

Wonderful memories.

The Perfect Hosts

  • 5 of 5

If you want a truly relaxing holiday then La Terrasse is the place to go. You will need a car as the nearest shop is 4km away but, apart from that, you may not wish to use the car, preferring instead to stay on the terrace drinking Gaillac wine and enjoying the superb view.

La Terrasse offers a beautiful gite, great views and friendly and helpful ( but unobtrusive ) hosts in Francoise and Moji.

The only sound likely to disturb the peace on your stay will be the hoot of an owl.

We loved it so much we're going again next year.

Peaceful and relaxing holiday with charming hosts

  • 5 of 5

If you want a truly relaxing holiday, then La Terrasse is the place to go. You will need a car as the nearest shop is approximately 4km away but more often than not you won't want to use it. We preferred to stay on the terrace, drinking wine and enjoying the magnificent views.

La Terrasse offers a beautiful gite, stunning views, friendly and helpful yet unobtrusive hosts.

The only thing to disturb the peace of La Terrasse is the occasional hoot of an owl. We loved it so much we've already booked for next year.

Beautiful Tranquil Holiday

  • 5 of 5

This was an excellent house to have a vacation. The scenery from the terrace was stunning, the house was beautiful and the best equipped holiday home we have ever stayed in, anywhere in the world. Francoise and Moji were excellent hosts, nothing was too much trouble and they shared the produce from their garden with us. They were always there, if we needed them and provided us with information on the best places to visit such as St Antonin market, Najac and Galliac.

It is a wonderful place to rest and recuperate but also within a short distance of the medieval town of Cordes Sur Ciel, which has excellent bars and restaurants.

We would recommend this holiday to everyone who wants to experience French food, French wine, lovely towns and French hospitality. We cannot thank Francoise and Moji enough for creating a holiday to remember.

Charming and peaceful

  • 5 of 5

Really quiet location but only a couple of kilometers from the wonderful Cordes-sur-Ciel..The gite has everything you might need, and more. Charming hosts Francoise and Moji made us truly welcome. The sky at night on the large terrace something to behold. Absolutely ideal getaway from the noise and pace of modern life. Thoroughly recommended.
