About Laura Williams
I have been in the vacation rental business since 2002. I started with my family's home on the ocean in La Jolla California. My company, La Jolla Boutique Vacations, specializes in unique homes and condos in La Jolla. A Chicago girl, I grew up vacationing on Lake Superior in our 1920's log cabin. I spent 10 summers canoeing the boundary waters and long canoe trips in Canada, even up to the James Bay. I have been a history teacher in South Central Los Angeles, and raised 5 children who are marvelous adults with families of their own. I am an avid reader of history, a genealogist, a cook, a writer and a movie fanatic . I practice hospitality and love making people feel at home. Tim, my husband, traveled the world working for the rail road. He also built homes in Illinois. He spent his childhood fishing on this lake with his family. Fond memories and a desire to live in God's Country brought us up here to build a log home that we also rent during the winter VRBO#760745 it is located up the hill from this Lake Cabin. Tim is an avid fisherman and knows the lake well. His love is Muskie hunting but knows where to catch anything. He is very kind to guests and lets them in on his knowledge.
Laura Williams purchased this Cabin in 2014
Why Laura Williams chose Tower
Tim and I looked for a lot to build a log home. The lake cabin was on the property and we have fixed it up. It used to part of the Bay View Lodge that are all privately owned. We added a dock for the lake cabin guests. for 2 boats. We have a fish cleaning shed by the lake. Also a 17 foot kevlar canoe, a raft to pull behind boats and 2 kayaks for our guests use. The 2015 Misty Harbor pontoon Boat is available for 250 a day during the summer and 200 per day in May and Sept.
What makes this Cabin unique
We are just a quarter of a mile from the Bay View Lodge and 2 miles from the Vermilion Club. We give a $25 gift card to all our renters for the Vermilion club. Because the Lake Cabin is down the hill we also give our renters the use of our razor with a dump box to load and unload gear. There are many off road trails around the cabin to explore. As you can see there are many advantages to renting our cabin.

Very nice cabin. All the comforts of home. Unfortunately, the fish weren't cooperating.
Great little cabin
Third time I have been to this cabin. It is quaint and clean with a great up north feel. The cabin is stocked with all the essentials.. Just bring your food, drink and a fillet knife for all of the fish you will catch. It's also close to Fortune Bay and the Vermilion Club if the fishing doesn't go as planned. The cabin has a nice lighted dock and electricity for your boat. It also has one of the best fish cleaning houses you will see at a cabin. Laura and Tim (Buck Tail) do a great job of making everyone comfortable. If you don't know the lake, Buck Tail will point you in the right direction with a few spots and fishing tips.
Second time staying at this cabin. It’s quaint, clean and convenient.
Lake Vermillion Summer Cabin
Great property, right on lake. Perfect for 3-4
What you see is what you get. Clean, cozy cabin, with all the access and convenience you want as a fisherman, or a person or family who wants to chill on Vermilion. Helpful fishing tips, great fish cleaning house, nice outdoor space. Owners were extremely friendly and helpful. Steep hill to get down from the car, but a side-by-side is provided for those who would need it (and for hauling gear into the cabin). Great place!
Awsome place. Exactly as advertised. I will be back for sure. Thank you Laura and Bucktail!
Lake Vermilion is a 42,000 acre lake, filled with many species of fish. 2 small towns border the East and West ends of the lake. Cook on the West and Tower to the East. It is rural, scenic and beautiful country.
