Guestbook comments from the owner

Our trip to Tahoe City is becoming quite a family tradition. This is our second

stay at Chateau Pine and once again, we enjoyed every minute. We hope to visit

again.

Perfect Little Cabin

  • 5 of 5

My husband and adult son and I stayed here for 3 nights in February. What an exceptional place! Take (what must have been) an old, tiny and undoubtedly ramshackle Tahoe cabin and turn it into a delightful 2 BR/1 Ba little gem. I don't think they increased the footprint, but the finishes, architectural detail and designer touches more than make up for the small square footage. A large open living/dining/kitchen area with a lovely large fireplace, high ceilings and comfortable furniture. Master bedroom with a king is very comfortable with a large closet. 2nd bedroom is great for kids or 1/2 adults. Our son is 6'3" so found the bed a trifle small but still adequate. The bathroom with steam shower and double shower heads was great. Hot tub on front deck was perfect after a day of hiking and snow shoeing. Owner was very helpful, responsive. We had trouble with the TV but they came right down to help us out. Will definitely stay again.

small, but sooooo nice, clean and quiet

  • 5 of 5

We rented over christmas last year and had such a great time. when we arrived everything was super clean and prepared for us. it's not too big, we had 2 friends so we were 4 people in total, but it's definitely enough space for all.

Nancy was super friendly and answered all questions in advance that we had, Deposit was sent back to us right the day after we left. we really enjoyed every second of our stay and looking forward to come back.

kitchen looks brand new and nice, the living room is very nice especially when you turn on the firewood, there's enough prepared wood outside. the bathroom is very clean and has a steam bath, so relaxing after a day of skiing or hiking. the spa on the deck is great too.

all in all it has all you need and we will come back for sure.

Great for small families with children

  • 4 of 5

Great place for families with young children (who can shower on their own). The front yard has a fence so the kids could hang out on the deck outside and are visible from the living/kitchen area. Quiet neighborhood so that you feel like you are somewhat secluded from the hubbub of the city, but walking distance to Sunnyside resort, Sunnyside Market, Fireside cafe and Tahoe Park HOA (10 min walk). Only a quick drive to get into the main drag of Tahoe City where there are markets and lots of restaurants. Also very close to paved bike trails, mountain bike trails, truckee river rafting. Nancy, the owner, was very easy to work with and left us a nice bottle of Chardonnay and also let us use the storage facility to store some of our expensive bikes. Clean and comfortable- would definitely come back again- great value. The only downside was that the fridge made a whirring sound, a minor detail that can be easily fixed, and we could have used a few extra pillows (2 extras provided). Again, these were minor details. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Chateu Pine!. Thank you Nancy for the positive experience and for sharing your home with us.

Loved everything about it!

  • 5 of 5

We have rented many smaller homes in Sunnyside and this was the best! Perfect location, confortable sitting area, comfortable beds. This home had everything we needed.

We love to stay in this area, park the car and ride our bikes everywhere we want to go! We rafted, walked, rode, paddleboarded....we had to go home so we could rest! Thanks for making the process simple and easy. We'll be back!

Beautiful getaway cabin

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here for a last-minute ski trip with my daughter. The owner was very prompt to respond to questions, process paperwork, send directions, etc.

Everything was as-advertised. Enjoyed the hot tub and the fireplace after a long day of skiing. Kitchen was well equipped. Very close to Squaw/Alpine & Homewood ski areas. Plenty of nice restaurants in Tahoe City.

We enjoyed our stay very much, and look forward to a summer visit.

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing cabin! We just visited the week of Thanksgiving and had such a fun stay! The cabin is equipped with everything that one would need and all of the finishes are truly lovely! Very cozy and comfortable! The fireplace was perfect for making smores - and the perfect setup for two small children (the screen actually closed and locked). The beds were awesome too! Our youngest son decided that he liked it so much there, that our first night he started walking! A really special place - we can't wait to go back!
