Wonderful week in Brittany
We spent a wonderful week in Cedar cottage. The cottage itself is lovely and very well equipped. The garden is amazing and we took full advantage of all the outdoor activities on offer: pool, swing ball, badminton, trampoline, croquet and lounging (adults - not kids). We also enjoyed playing darts in the games room.
The children absolutely loved the pool and spent hours in it which meant they slept really well.
Thank you Geoff and Chris for a wonderful relaxing week - we all loved it.
Great for kids
Lovely house to stay in. Great for the kids with the pool, trampoline and swings. It kept them occupied. Very rural location so car was a necessity. Would be happy to stay again!
Relaxing holiday in lovely gite with great hosts.
Very relaxing holiday in Cedar with wife and teenage daughter. Gite was very clean and tidy and equipped to a high standard. Great beds, excellent showers. Bottle of wine, left by the host was most welcome. Great place for families with pool, swingball, badminton, swings and darts and table football in the summer house. Geoff kindly spent some time fixing one of his bikes for me to use.
Overall had a great time and a very relaxing week would thoroughly recommend.
Lovely and relaxing
We had a super time here, everything you could need and more for young kids. Hosts were lovely - thank you so much.
Great family friendly gite and holiday!
We have just arrived back from nearly 2 weeks at this beautiful gite. The house we stayed in was, Cedar, and with 2 adults, a 4 year old, 21 month old and 6 week old baby, it was perfect for us. It has been beautifully renovated, everything is spotlessly clean and towels and linens are all provided.
With a very young family in tow, stair gates, travel cot (with really comfortable bedding) and bed rails were provided and there were black out blinds in both bedrooms which was a real bonus (something I hadn't thought of but again, the owners had). All mod cons were in the kitchen and the wifi was super fast.
The grounds were so safe for the kids to run around, the swimming pool is behind a gate (lovely to swim in) so you don't have to worry about it and with the sand pit, trampoline, swings, climbing frame, bikes etc there was plenty to keep the kids busy. Jack the dog was a huge attraction - probably the most patient friendly dog I've ever come across - despite being constantly petted and chased by our boys.
And so to Geoff and Chris who own these holiday homes - they could not have been more helpful to us. They were always on hand if we needed assistance but we still felt like we we had the place to ourselves and They were so patient with our kids who followed them around whenever they got a chance!
There is plenty to see in the area, lovely beaches in Carnac about 2 hours away but we mostly hung around, watching the kids exhaust themselves with all the space and activities there. We hope to return and would highly recommend this place to anyone with kids (of any ages) who want them to have lots of freedom to wander, play etc without having to watch them every second. It far exceeded our expectations.
Thanks for a wonderful review. The only comment I would make is that Carnac is usually an hour away.
Relaxing and Tranquil
From the moment we arrived at Les Verts Paturages to the boarding of the ferry on our way home, everything was just how we wanted it.
We were happily greeted by Jack, (the family dog) and led down to the picturesque 17th Century barn that has been sympathetically renovated into three lovely gites. We were due to stay for one week in the gite named Cedar.
The Hosts - Well, what can we say. We were made to feel incredibly welcome by Chris and Geoff. They are the two responsible for the beautiful conversion of this once barn into the tranquil place that it now is. They would do everything they could to make our holiday an enjoyable one. If you wanted a chat or advice, they were there to help.
The Gite (cedar) - The gite was lovely. Each gite has it's own individual chracteristics, cedar has a wonderfully large and impressive fireplace with a log burner to keep you cosy on the not so warm days. The exposed beams and comfy furnishings make this a real home from home. All appliances that you may need are there, all modern, easy to use and immaculately clean. The gite has three bathrooms with two showers (posh ones with adjustable jets and red hot instant water!) .
Grounds - The gardens and spacious and manicured. The outdoor areas invite you to try out french boules, swingball, badminton (on request), and swimming in the outdoor heated pool. The opportunity in the summer months to sun bathe and enjoy a bbq are also easy to be taken with the included facilities.
Area - The area is incredibly tranquil, the gites are nestled in expansive farmland with a whole host of wildlife. (we spotted deer, hare, and kingfishers down by the River Blavet). Areas to visit are the large chateau at Josselin, the art exhibition at La Gacilly and we enjoyed moules et frites in St Nicholas, where you can enjoy boating, canoeing and fishing in the summer months.
This was a truly enjoyable and relaxing time all made better by our hosts Chris and Geoff. We will definately be looking for a return visit in the not too distant future.
