A real gem!
Everything was wonderful. Gite was beautiful, spacious, clean and had everything we needed. Gardens were fabulous, swimming pool and games room kept everyone happy and entertained. Children ( 12, 10 and 5) were more than happy to spend days at the gite relaxing and playing. Bruce the dog was a delight.
Chris and Geoff were very helpful and friendly. Couldn't have wished for more.
We Love Brittany
Enjoyed our stay very much a good get away from it all place to be. Fully kitted out even did a 2000 piece puzzle on our rainy mornings before venturing out to hunt down delicious lunches in nearby villages. Would definitely reccomend
Very nice well presented property. Within an 1hour drive of most things in Brittany
Nice place for a family of four. Strongly advise st Malo ferry and book Thursday to Thursday as suggested by the owners. Had everything you would need. Nice big garden and pool.
All we had hoped for and more!
We have just returned from a 2 week holiday at Les Verts Paturages and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The property itself, (Bay) had everything that a family of four could need, from the 'oldy-worldy' charm that the cottage oozes in abundance, to 'mod cons' like the fabulous power shower and - much to our almost teenage daughter's relief - efficient and reliable 'wi-fi'!
We chose the property, in part, because it offered a pool. Our children are not huge fans of the beach, but they do enjoy swimming, so a pool is always something that we look for when booking holiday accommodation. I have to say that we were pleasantly surprised by the pool here because it is bigger than it appears in the photos, as is the decked area next to it. We spent many happy hours there! The grounds are really impressive and offer further opportunities for relaxation, as well as a range of games and activities for the children. Our son was becoming quite proficient on the tight-rope by the end of our stay!
We arrived in France via the Plymouth-Roscoff ferry; the property is easy to get to being only a couple of hours' drive away from the port.
Locally there are numerous markets to visit - all within an hour's drive or so. The coast is around 45 minutes to an hour away, which was not a problem for us. We particularly enjoyed the Sunday market at Carnac and the Wednesday market in Vannes! We also visited the 'tree-top'. adventure place in Camors, which our children rated as 'better than Go Ape''! (Tip: get there for a 1.30 start - they are closed for lunch from 12pm-1.30pm)!
If a peaceful 'get away from it all' holiday is what you are after, then we would highly recommend this accommodation.Chris and Geoff were very welcoming hosts - always ready to help/provide information, whilst remaining unobtrusive and allowing their guests to take full advantage of the beautiful grounds.
Our children were particularly sad to leave, not least because they had struck up a fond friendship with the lovely Bruce - Chris and Geoff's very friendly dog!
Thanks again, Chris and Geoff for two wonderful weeks.
Perfect holiday property!
Another fantastic holiday in Bay! Our children said it was the 'best holiday ever'! We had a great one here last Summer but the weather was great this time, meaning lots of time in the pool! Geoff and Chris always make you feel very welcome and at home.
There is so much to keep children entertained that there is plenty of time for grown ups to relax! We visited the beach near L'orient, went canoeing in Pontivy and had a wander in Guemene. it was hard to convince the children to leave the pool!
The Gite is fully equipped with everything you would need as well as lots of indoor games/DVDs should you get a rainy day! We highly recommend these holiday properties!
Our own French paradise!
The first thing we noticed as we entered the grounds of the cottages was the bird song. Set in the middle of the French countryside the gardens are extensive with everything we or the children could want for our week long stay. The cottage has been beautifully restored, was immaculate and contained all the home comforts we needed. It was the little details that Chris and Geoff had thought of that impressed us the most - games for the children (for both inside and outside), a pint of milk in the fridge and a bottle of wine to tide us over till we got to the shops. While in such a tranquil setting the cottages are central many activities and days out for both adults and children - the nearest town is just 6 kms away (down very quiet roads) and contains a large supermarket as well as local shops - the queue for the bread at the local patisserie well worth the wait! Attractions such as Pontivy, Poul Fetan (as restored Breton village) and Huelgot are all within easy reach through very pretty villages and towns. And of course there is the pool to return to each day for a cooling dip before supper! We had a fantastic holiday here (the children gave it 100 out of 10!), would love to return and would happily recommend it to others who would like somewhere to rest while exploring the real France.
